After applying the medicine to Song Xinya’s wound, she slipped her arm through Qin Yuhe’s and headed outside.
Tiantianquan walked them out. After a few steps, she suddenly cried, “Ow!”
“What’s wrong?” Song Xinya asked.
“Nothing. The pain’s finally catching up with me. My butt hurts.”
“Do you have any safflower oil?”
“I do.”
“You can’t reach your own butt. I’ll rub some on for you.”
“Sure.”
They were both women, after all. There was nothing strange about touching her butt a little. Tiantianquan certainly didn’t mind Song Xinya touching it.
Someone else did.
Qin Yuhe pulled Song Xinya closer to him. “Don’t let her do it. Have someone else apply it.”
That was such a private area. Other than her…
“Who else could help Quanquan?” Song Xinya asked.
Qin Yuhe replied calmly, “Chen Siyan.”
Tiantianquan immediately waved both hands. “Absolutely not! Chen Siyan and I haven’t gotten that far yet.”
Song Xinya was stunned. Tiantianquan and Chen Siyan still hadn’t reached that stage?
The two of them had hit it off at first sight in a bar, and their attraction had ignited instantly. She had assumed they had already gone all the way.
Song Xinya said to Qin Yuhe, “I’ll go apply the medicine for Quanquan, and then we’ll go home.”
Qin Yuhe said nothing more.
Inside the bedroom, Tiantianquan tugged at the waistband of her pants and started pulling them down.
“Just expose your butt. You don’t have to take everything off,” Song Xinya said.
“Oh.” Tiantianquan lowered her waistband to her knees and lay facedown on the bed.
Song Xinya poured some safflower oil into her palm, rubbed her hands together, and applied it to the soft, milky-white flesh.
Tiantianquan moaned and whined, “Oh my God, you’re actually making me feel something. The moment you touch me, I get so nervous I can hardly stand it.”
“That’s because your butt is swollen and extra sensitive,” Song Xinya said. “It’s not because of me.”
“Really? I thought you were so handsome that you’d changed my sexual orientation and made me like women.”
After finishing, Song Xinya washed her hands, linked arms with Qin Yuhe, and walked out.
Qin Yuhe asked, “How did it feel?”
“What kind of feeling could I get from touching a woman? Nothing.”
After a brief silence, Qin Yuhe asked, “What about me?”
Song Xinya paused. “…I don’t know. I’ve never touched you.”
Qin Yuhe’s expression was perfectly serious, as though they were discussing international news.
“Go home and touch me, then. See how it feels.”
…
At Purple Forbidden Manor, in the second-floor bedroom, Song Xinya sat on the bed with her back against the headboard.
She thought back over the past six months or so. She had already encountered two clients who had tried to take advantage of her.
Looking at the injury on her leg, she let out a long sigh. “Why do I keep running into situations like this?”
Why else? Qin Yuhe gazed at her stunningly beautiful face.
“Because you’re too beautiful.”
“I never ran into things like this before…”
She suddenly closed her mouth.
She had been fat in the past.
At one hundred and eighty pounds and a height of five feet seven, any man who wanted to make a move on her would first have to consider whether he could beat her.
Even if Song Xinya couldn’t beat them, she could still sit on them and crush them to death.
Things were different now. Weighing barely one hundred pounds, with slender arms and legs, she looked as though a strong gust of wind could blow her away.
She looked terribly easy to bully.
A trace of doubt flashed through Qin Yuhe’s mind. “You never encountered anything like this before?”
Song Xinya laughed it off. “No, I didn’t. Maybe I was just lucky and only met good people.”
Qin Yuhe was someone who lived in the present, but he had grown curious about Song Xinya’s past.
What had Song Xinya been like before?
Song Xinya felt uneasy under his prolonged stare. “Why do you keep looking at me?”
Finding out about someone’s past was child’s play for Qin Yuhe.
Since she didn’t want to tell him, he wouldn’t ask her directly. He had other ways of finding out.
With a solemn expression, he brought up another matter.
“Yaya, tell me about your career plans.”
“My career plan is to become a Gold-Level Lecturer, take back the company my mother left behind, manage it well, and restore Yating Education Technology Co., Ltd. to the heights it once reached.”
“So you’re interested in joining the management team?”
“Of course. I’ve been reading the management book you wrote for me. I’ve been waiting for the day I can take the company back from my old scumbag dad and her faux-innocent stepmother, so I can manage it properly once I’m in charge.”
“How much of it have you read?”
“I know it by heart. I’m just waiting for the chance to put it into practice as a general manager.”
Qin Yuhe looked at her seriously.
“I’ll give you the position of general manager of Qin Group’s education and training company. You can use it to gain some experience.”
Song Xinya stared at him in shock. “What?”
Qin Yuhe crooked his index finger and lightly brushed it over her nose.
“My wife, you heard me correctly. I’m planning to appoint you general manager of Qin Group’s education and training company. You can use the position to practice and build up your management experience.”
Song Xinya felt as though a pie had dropped from the sky and knocked her dizzy.
“I’ve never been part of a company’s management before. What if you put me straight into the general manager’s position and I run the company into the ground?”
“If you could manage this company into bankruptcy, that would be its honor.”
Song Xinya smiled. “Qin Yuhe, should you think this over a little more? Managing a company is no small matter. Besides, although that company isn’t part of Qin Group’s core operations, it’s one of the leading companies in the education and training industry. It has more than two hundred employees. It’s a large company.”
“Song Xinya, I want to tell you this seriously: my decision wasn’t made on a whim. I was already planning this while I was writing that management book for you. I’m giving you the company to practice with only after careful consideration.”
Since he had thought it through so carefully, Song Xinya asked, “Then what do you want in return?”
“Money, power, fame—I don’t want any of them. I simply want to support your career and help you achieve your dream.”
Song Xinya’s heart was enveloped in warm water, melting into utter softness.
Then she remembered something. “What about Yuan Jingcheng? He’s the company’s current general manager.”
“He won’t be for much longer.”
“He’s been sitting comfortably in that position. Why won’t he be general manager much longer?”
“You’ll know why tomorrow.”
Appointing Song Xinya as general manager was something Qin Yuhe had been planning for a long time.
Today, after Song Xinya once again experienced a man attempting to assault her, he accelerated those plans.
He could reach her in time once or twice, but what if something similar happened in the future? What if he couldn’t get there in time?
The consequences would be unimaginable.
Just imagining that possibility made Qin Yuhe’s back turn cold. His heart clenched painfully, as though an invisible hand were squeezing it.
He couldn’t wait any longer. He would not allow Song Xinya to be placed in danger again.
Once she became a general manager and joined the management team, she wouldn’t have to personally run around handling business. That would eliminate the danger at its source.
She was his wife, and he would protect her and keep her safe for the rest of her life.
