"Story has it that a thousand years ago, sects stood in great numbers and the demonic path ran rampant. Countless grudges and romances were buried beneath the yellow earth. Yet, there was this one particular figure whose origins and background were completely unknown. People only knew that he always wore green, coming and going like a phantom. The world called him The Green-Clad Guest."
"This man's cultivation was unfathomably deep, and his temperament was cold to the bone. He would kill and snatch treasures without blinking an eye. The righteous path cursed him as a demon, and the demonic path feared him as a madman. Yet, this heartless and ruthless god of death was inexplicably entangled with a fairy, and that was Fairy Hongfu."
"Some say The Green-Clad Guest was infatuated with her, while others say Fairy Hongfu was abducted by him. Whether their bond was one of gratitude or grievance, love or enmity, no one could say for sure. They only remembered that one day, the Third Young Master of Zhenyue Mountain City disrespected Fairy Hongfu, threatening to take her as his bed-warming concubine. In a fit of rage for his beloved, The Green-Clad Guest slew the Third Young Master of Zhenyue Mountain City on the spot!"
The storyteller slammed his wooden block on the table. The audience in the teahouse erupted in cheers, the sound of clinking teacups ringing out all around.
"Well killed! How satisfying!"
"That's a real man! Protecting the one in his heart, killing anyone who dares to offend!"
"If I could meet a lover like The Green-Clad Guest in this life, I would be fully content!"
The storyteller stroked his beard and smiled, "Do you all think that was the end of it? Have you ever heard of the Qingtian Sect in the Qingtian Bright Realm? That is said to be the oldest, hailed as the number one sect, with unfathomable foundations. Ordinary cultivators couldn't even get close to its mountain gates."
The storyteller sneered, deliberately drawing out his words, "But as fate would have it, even this high and mighty Qingtian Sect had moments of blindness."
The audience held their breath, quietly waiting for the storyteller to continue.
"The Eldest Miss of the Qingtian Sect fell in love with The Green-Clad Guest at first sight. One day, this Eldest Miss crossed paths with Fairy Hongfu and spoke recklessly to her, showing not a shred of respect."
"After The Green-Clad Guest learned of this, he arrived at the mountain gates of the Qingtian Sect that very day. Upon arriving, he did not argue, nor did he show anger. He only said lightly, 'You disrespected her.'"
"Just like that, the Qingtian Sect brought upon itself the disaster of annihilation. Blood dyed the mountain gates red. Not a single chicken or dog was spared in the entire Qingtian Sect. Overnight, it went from a great immortal sect to a mountain of death."
"The world calls him ruthless and mad, but who knows that The Green-Clad Guest is actually the most devoted. The Three Realms have never lacked cultivators, but not a single one can compare to the supreme passion and true nature of The Green-Clad Guest."
These words evoked sighs of emotion from many people.
Many men envied The Green-Clad Guest for his ability to freely exact revenge and repay gratitude, as well as having a beautiful woman by his side.
There were also many women who admired his deep affection, longing that one day they too could meet a good man whose heart and eyes were filled entirely with them.
But amidst these numerous sighs, a particularly abrupt voice rang out.
"Who says The Green-Clad Guest is the best man in the world? If you ask me, the truly devoted one is the Black-clad Venerable, who, despite knowing that his beloved had long died and her soul dissipated, insisted on defying the heavens, treading through the Three Realms and Six Paths just to pull her back to the mortal world!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the entire venue fell silent, and everyone's eyes fixed in that direction.
The speaker was actually a little girl of six or seven years old. She wore her hair in double buns, had round, chubby cheeks, and was still clutching half a piece of sugar cake in her hand. With her little face tilted upward in a deadpan manner, she looked exceptionally adorable.
The storyteller frowned. "What Black-clad Venerable, white-clad venerable? This old man has never heard of such a thing. Little girl, don't cause trouble!"
Hearing this, the little girl immediately became anxious. Ignoring the sugar cake in her hand, she clenched her small fists and abruptly stood up from her low stool. Now, the crowd could see her attire even more clearly.
She was dressed in a moon-white soft satin jacket. A golden longevity lock hung upon her chest, and a warm jade safety buckle was tied to her waist with a red string, dangling with silver bell tassels. On her feet were soft brocade shoes embroidered with lotuses and adorned with small pearls, completely spotless.
The girl's attire was exquisite and elegant, showing at a glance that she came from an extraordinary background.
She puffed out her small chest, her cheeks flushed with excitement, and retorted in a crisp voice, "I am not causing trouble! The Black-clad Venerable really exists. He is much better than that whatever The Green-Clad Guest. He is the second most powerful person in the world. If you haven't heard of him, it's because you are ignorant and ill-informed!"
The storyteller was so angry that he blew into his beard and glared.
The audience nearby, seeing how cute the little girl was, couldn't help but ask, "You say that Black-clad Venerable is the second most powerful person, then who is the first most powerful person?"
The girl raised her face and said triumphantly, "The most powerful person is, of course, my mother."
Her charmingly naive appearance made some people around her burst into laughter. It wasn't malicious; they just found the innocent words of this pretty little child to be very amusing.
The storyteller had been telling stories for so many years and had never been publicly rebuked like this, let alone by such a small child.
He said angrily, "Which family did you sneak out from, little girl? Where are your adults? How dare you come here and cause trouble! Waiter, waiter, hurry and kick her out!"
The waiter originally didn't want to get involved. After all, this little girl's clothing was extraordinary, and she was likely a young miss from a wealthy family. But with the storyteller shouting like that, he had no choice but to step forward.
"Little girl, you should go play outside."
Just as the waiter reached out to pick up the little girl, a piercing chill suddenly struck.
He only felt a numbness in his fingers. Looking closely, a thin layer of white frost had formed on his fingertips, freezing him so much that he violently yanked his hand back and cried out in pain.
Everyone looked up in unison.
At some unknown point, a small blue fish was suspended in mid-air.
The fish's body was as translucent as colored glaze, emitting a faint blue light. With a gentle flick of its tail fin, it brought about a bone-piercing coldness.
It wasn't large, but it was like an ice blade hanging over everyone's heads, its silent coercion pressing the entire room into instant, deathly stillness.
The waiter was so frightened that he repeatedly backed away and fell to the ground.
"My hand!"
"Xiaoyubao, don't kill anyone!" The girl suddenly lunged forward and hugged the exceptionally cold-looking small blue fish into her arms.
The small blue fish, which had just been freezing cold and full of fierce malice, instantly lost its piercing chill the moment it fell into her warm embrace.
It obediently pressed against her chest, its tail gently rubbing against her collar. Like a small beast that had been stroked, it no longer had a shred of hostility, leaving only docility.
The waiter watched the frost on his hand fade away, suddenly feeling as though he had come back to life.
There were also a few cultivators sitting in the teahouse. They recognized at a glance that the girl was holding a connate supreme treasure. This girl was likely the child of some high-level cultivator.
As soon as the storyteller saw that the girl had a spiritual pet by her side, he naturally realized that she must also be a cultivator. His legs instantly trembled, and he shivered, not daring to speak.
The world knew that cultivators could slaughter their peers to fight for resources, let alone ordinary commoners, who were probably no different from ants in their eyes.
The girl did indeed cause trouble for him.
She pointed a finger and said domineeringly, "The Black-clad Venerable is the best man in the world. From now on, you are not allowed to say that The Green-Clad Guest is the best man!"
The storyteller was taken aback for a moment before hastily agreeing, "Yes, yes, yes, the little fairy is absolutely right. The Green-Clad Guest is nothing but a bloodthirsty fiend; how could he possibly compare to the Black-clad Venerable!"
