Su Jingsheng fell silent.
She came from a relatively peaceful world, with a wealthy family and a smooth life. Aside from being physically weak, she had never experienced such filth and ruthless scheming.
Su Jingsheng truly did not want to die. It was hard-won, this chance to live again.
"Alright then," she heard her own voice conceding.
The World Consciousness rippled with pleasure and began its explanation:
"Your soul, after transformation, is an SSS-grade Omega, with a 100% compatibility rate with Bo Jinghuai."
"But the original body was too deeply poisoned. I cleared the toxins, but its foundation is damaged. Your body is now weak, with chaotic pheromones. Your heats will be very difficult to endure, and inhibitors will have poor effect."
"If you want to be more comfortable, stay by his side sooner rather than later."
"Additionally, the original soul's lingering obsessions remain: the resentment over the bankruptcy and the hatred towards those who caused her death."
"These obsessions hinder the complete fusion of your soul, so for now you are only an S-grade Omega."
"However, S-grade is already the pinnacle in this world, and you have an 80% compatibility rate with Bo Jinghuai, which is sufficient."
"Once you avenge the original soul and these obsessions dissipate, you will become a true SSS-grade, and all your ailments will disappear."
At that time, Su Jingsheng still thought, just some weakness and sickness, she could endure it. For now, she'd just lay low.
She wasn't ready to lower herself and go seduce a man.
But reality soon crushed her naivety.
An Omega's pheromonal chaos was like a persistent, festering disease—a constant state of weakness, dizziness, and heart palpitations.
After just three days, she felt she couldn't bear it anymore.
Su Jingsheng immediately asked the World Consciousness about Bo Jinghuai's whereabouts and eagerly set out to pursue that top-tier Enigma.
Fortunately, after the soul fusion, this world's Su Jingsheng gradually took on her own appearance.
And, due to the Omega's inherent traits of delicate beauty and high fertility, this face, this body, became an even more exquisite version of her past self—like a porcelain doll.
Bo Jinghuai was difficult, infuriatingly picky.
But who asked Su Jingsheng to be so beautiful, with pheromones that just happened to suit his taste?
Last night's adventure... did it mean she had a preliminary hold on him?
...
Snapping out of her reverie, Su Jingsheng sat up.
She was only wearing a large black shirt, the one Bo Jinghuai had thrown to her last night.
Su Jingsheng walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside a little.
Blinding sunlight poured in, and she squinted her eyes.
Looking down, the cityscape spread out before her, the streams of traffic like woven threads.
This place was worth a fortune per square inch, a view truly only available to the top echelon.
"Awake?" The bedroom door was pushed open, and Bo Jinghuai walked in.
He was wearing dark gray loungewear, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His hair fell casually across his forehead, softening the usual sharpness and aloofness, adding a touch of laziness.
Su Jingsheng turned around. He was so tall she had to crane her neck back to see his face clearly.
Bo Jinghuai looked down, his gaze sweeping over her.
The hem of the shirt only reached the top of her thighs, her legs slender and pale, bare feet planted on the dark gray carpet.
He averted his eyes. "If you're awake, go have breakfast. Toiletries are in the bathroom."
Su Jingsheng didn't move.
She reached out her hands towards him, asking for a hug.
"Jinghuai, I don't feel well," she said softly, her voice muffled and sticky from sleep. "My body feels so heavy, I have no strength."
Bo Jinghuai frowned, took two steps forward, and felt her forehead.
As he got closer, that crisp, sweet fragrance wafted over again, drifting into his nostrils.
It smelled good.
He suppressed the stirring within.
"If you're unwell, go to the hospital," he said, his voice still cold.
Su Jingsheng shook her head and, following the movement, wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Not the hospital," she said, tilting her face up, her eyes glistening. "Carry me to the bathroom, please?"
Bo Jinghuai stared at her.
The girl's complexion really wasn't good, her lips pale, the rims of her eyes slightly red, looking pitiful.
He was silent for a few seconds, then bent down, one hand supporting her back, the other slipping under her knees, and picked her up directly.
Su Jingsheng let out a soft gasp and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
She was so light.
Bo Jinghuai felt like he was holding a cloud—soft, with almost no weight.
The shirt hem rode up further with the movement of her legs, revealing most of her snow-white thighs pressed tightly against the skin of his arm.
Warm. Soft.
Bo Jinghuai's steps faltered for a moment, then he strode into the bathroom and set her down on the vanity counter.
The cold surface made Su Jingsheng shiver.
"Wash up yourself," Bo Jinghuai said, turning to leave.
Su Jingsheng grabbed him again.
"I have no strength," she whispered, her fingers hooking onto the corner of his clothes. "I can't stand steadily."
Bo Jinghuai looked back at her.
The girl sat on the vanity counter, her legs dangling in the air, ankles slender, toes round and tinged with pink.
The collar of the shirt had come undone one button, revealing a small patch of collarbone, skin so white it seemed translucent.
She looked up at him, her gaze obedient, with a hint of dependence.
The impatience in Bo Jinghuai's heart inexplicably dissipated.
He sighed, turned on the faucet, tested the water temperature, then wet a towel, wrung it out, and handed it to her.
"Wipe your face," he said.
Su Jingsheng took the towel and wiped her face slowly.
Bo Jinghuai looked down at her.
As she wiped her face, her eyelashes were lowered, long and thick, casting faint shadows under her eyes.
Her lips, moistened by the steam, took on a tender red hue.
Finished, she handed the towel back to him.
"And the toothbrush," she reminded him softly.
Bo Jinghuai unwrapped a new toothbrush, squeezed on toothpaste, and handed it to her.
Su Jingsheng took it, turned sideways, and began brushing her teeth slowly.
Halfway through, she suddenly looked up and met his gaze through the mirror.
"Jinghuai," she called out, her words muffled.
Bo Jinghuai met her eyes in the mirror. "Hmm?"
"You smell so good," she said, spitting out the foam. "Like cedarwood. It's very comforting."
Bo Jinghuai didn't speak.
Su Jingsheng finished rinsing her mouth, put down the toothbrush, and turned to face him.
"Do I have a scent too?" she asked, her eyes bright as she looked at him. "Do you like it?"
