A ruthless, penny-pinching rich-boy top × an artsy, green-tea bottom. North American PDF literature.

A vicious patron versus a flirtatious, foolish little green tea: a morally bankrupt short story about one man scheming for money, another keeping score, and the two of them accidentally digging themselves into the bottomless pit of true love.

*

The bottom is an artsy little green tea whose funding for studying abroad has been cut off. He puts on a frail, melancholy act in hopes of landing a romance with a famous rich heiress.

*The wind is so strong—can you see my soul? In the negative space of existentialism, if I had one more movie ticket, would you come away with me?*

After mailing the heiress a handwritten letter, he receives a reply the next day: Meet me at the cinema at 10:30 tonight.

He carefully dresses up and heads to the theater, only to find the heiress’s intimidating older brother waiting for him instead. The wheat-skinned man gives him an unfriendly smile.

“What’s wrong? I’m the one who got the ticket. You unhappy about that?”

The movie is a nerve-racking ordeal. Just when the bottom is on the verge of tears, the other man provocatively pats his cheek.

“If you’re trying to hook my sister, your methods are pathetically low-grade.”

His voice is contemptuous. He never lets a slight go unanswered.

The top is a ruthless rich heir. After fighting over the family fortune and sending his enemies to prison, he flies north to see how his little sister is doing.

Only to discover that there is a stereotypical big-city green tea lurking around her.

Every day, the green tea writes poetry on fallen leaves. Long hair, earrings, a collarbone chain—constantly striking some pretentious artsy pose, with painfully transparent tactics.

After tormenting him for a while, the top decides this gold-digging little green tea is clearly unfit to take care of his sister. Still, he is rather entertaining when he acts all coy and tea-like around him.

So he makes a decisive move and bends him to his will.

The green tea’s attempts to seduce his sister are utterly detestable. But when he is obediently kissed by the man, he looks unexpectedly adorable.

The bottom loves money, and the top has plenty of it. Isn’t that perfect for both of them?

The top shows up at the green tea’s door carrying several Hermès bags. Seeing him reveal his true colors—dropping his usual faux-artsy act and happily hugging the bags—the top feels both irritated and amused. He has never seen anyone so shamelessly easy to please.

Still, dating a beautiful idiot who is both sly and tea-like has its charms.

The top thinks he has finally seen through the green tea’s true nature. Patting the sofa, he calls him over for another kiss. Having received the bags, the bottom is docile and compliant, exactly as greedy for money as he expected.

But after a while, the green tea looks up.

“You really meant it when you said you’d pay my tuition, right?”

His eyes are full of hope, cautious and hesitant.

At first, the top only wants to keep a little pet around to amuse himself.

Later, he wants to lock him up at home, making him his obedient little green tea.

Later still, his vindictive nature fully emerges. Whatever the bottom has gotten out of him, he intends to make him repay over the rest of his life.

In the end, they live a brilliant and happy life together.

A local magazine publishes the story of how they spent an entire century tangled up in each other’s lives. Reclining side by side in lounge chairs, they are astonished to discover that the young reporters of the future have reduced their tale of two equally terrible people finding each other to just two words:

“True love.”
