Is There Something Wrong with Looking for a Boyfriend in a Horror Game?

Chapter 68

After two rounds of passionate lovemaking, the young couple felt somewhat satisfied. As the heat of the moment faded, Xia Miao couldn't resist kicking Fu Lan, who was dozing off on the couch while cuddling his girlfriend. The sudden kick nearly sent him tumbling to the floor.

"You know those were my favorite cosmetics, right?!"

Her nail polish was half gone—who knew how many times he'd secretly used it.

Her lipstick was noticeably shorter—where had he been applying it when she wasn’t around?

And the foundation she’d just bought was almost empty—had he been drinking it like yogurt?!

Fu Lan felt a twinge of guilt, but he was never one to reflect on his mistakes. "Well, if you didn’t come home so late every day, I wouldn’t have to find ways to entertain myself," he retorted.

The spoiled and mischievous boy loved stirring up trouble. Since Xia Miao hated him mingling with those "pigs" outside, he had no choice but to come home early and amuse himself.

Fu Lan rolled over and pinned her down, cupping her face in his hands and pressing his cheek against hers, refusing to let even an inch of distance come between them.

"Isn’t your boyfriend more important than some stupid cosmetics?!"

His beautiful black eyes sparkled, filled with nothing but her reflection. His long lashes fluttered like butterfly wings, sending a ticklish sensation across her skin.

Xia Miao hesitated for a moment, trying to lie but failing. She sighed in defeat. "Fine, you’re more important than the cosmetics. But you still need to learn boundaries!"

Fu Lan didn’t understand why Xia Miao kept harping on about "boundaries." He’d never cared for such concepts—he did whatever he pleased. For instance, he saw no issue with accepting gifts from those "pigs," but since she disliked it, he’d reluctantly changed his ways.

Though "changed" wasn’t quite the right word. He was suppressing his instincts.

It sounded absurd—he, who embodied desire itself, was restraining himself just to avoid angering some plain little human!

Grumbling, Fu Lan muttered, "You were begging me to go deeper earlier, and now you’re talking about boundaries?"

Xia Miao’s ears burned at his shameless remark. "What the hell are you saying?!"

Fu Lan had no sense of shame. He acted on impulse, voiced his pleasure without restraint, and never considered what was socially acceptable.

His eyes glinted with mischief, exuding a charm that could topple kingdoms—a true-born troublemaker. "I’m just repeating what you said. What’s wrong with that?"

Xia Miao looked ready to explode, but Fu Lan wasn’t fazed. He knew she loved this side of him—the more outrageous he was, the more she couldn’t resist.

Sure enough, she merely covered his mouth, flustered and threatening, "If you keep talking, I’ll kick you out!"

Fu Lan smirked, pressing his face against her chest and nuzzling into her.

He wasn’t worried.

She was addicted to him now—one day without their antics left her restless. Her angry words were just for show; she’d never actually throw him out.

Xia Miao glared at his smug expression, frustration simmering inside.

This brat had already learned how to manipulate her emotions in such a short time. Who knew what chaos he’d cause in the future?

Dinner was takeout, including Fu Lan’s favorite meatballs.

He scooted his chair so close to Xia Miao that their shoulders touched, his lithe body constantly leaning into hers. No matter how many times she pushed him away, he’d just cling to her again.

When only one meatball remained in the bowl, he instinctively scooped it up, ready to eat it himself—but then he glanced at Xia Miao. After a brief hesitation, he offered it to her instead.

Xia Miao blinked in surprise.

"I’m full. Don’t want it," he said.

She stared at him for a moment before suddenly reaching out to pat his stomach.

Fu Lan’s face flushed red as he swatted her hand away. "What are you doing?!"

"Checking if you’re really full."

Fu Lan was a creature of insatiable desires, and it showed in everything he did.

Once something was his, even if he didn’t want it anymore, he’d rather toss it in the trash than share it.

When it came to food, he had zero self-control. He’d eat until he was stuffed, only stopping when he physically couldn’t take another bite. Then, with a napkin, he’d daintily wipe his mouth—eating like a ravenous street urchin, yet carrying himself like a spoiled young master.

Now embarrassed, Fu Lan huffed and set down his spoon, turning his face away.

Xia Miao tilted her head. "Really mad now?"

He scooted even farther from her.

Suddenly, she gasped dramatically, "Oh no! I’m so hungry! If only I had a meatball to fill my poor, empty stomach!"

Fu Lan’s lips twitched. Without looking at her, he picked up the spoon again and held the meatball to her mouth. This time, Xia Miao eagerly took it.

"So delicious! Ugh, I’m saved!" She clung to his arm, whining, "Waaah, what would I do without Fu Lan? I’d just wither away!"

Fu Lan stubbornly kept his chin raised, as if her over-the-top act was beneath him—but his eyes shone with barely contained glee, his entire face radiating smug delight.

Clearing his throat, he condescended to glance down at her. "Xia Miao, have you really lost yourself in your love for me?"

She nodded eagerly. "Mhm!"

The boy reached out and pinched her cheek, amused. "Look at you—so pathetic!"

His words were mocking, but his tone was giddy.

What a faker.

Xia Miao forced a sweet smile. "I just love you too much, Fu Lan!"

"I know. You can’t live without me." His dark eyes curved, the beauty mark beneath them glowing with satisfaction. "So while I’m gone for those two days hiking, behave yourself and wait patiently for my return."

Xia Miao froze. "You’re going hiking?"

"Yep. Club activity."

She remembered he’d joined a mountaineering club. "Can’t you skip it?"

"Missing me already?" Fu Lan giggled, pulling her into a swaying embrace. "We’re not even married, and you’re this clingy? Imagine how bad it’ll be after the wedding!"

Xia Miao: "..."

"Alright, alright. I promise I’ll come back soon!"
