Family Fortune Battle! The Fake Heiress Wins Big by Courting Disaster

Chapter 4

In a small grove.

The boy gently pressed the girl against an old locust tree.

“You… don’t do this…” The girl’s face flushed as she lowered her head, too shy to look at him.

The boy reached out and lifted her chin, a hint of mischief in his smile. “Wasn’t it you who said you wanted to try?”

The girl’s heart began to race.

The boy lowered his head and leaned closer.

Just as the atmosphere was reaching its most intimate moment, the boy suddenly noticed someone watching them from nearby.

He jumped and shoved the girl away.

Angrily, he turned to look. The girl who had appeared out of nowhere looked about their age. She was dressed impeccably in a brown suit jacket and skirt, revealing a pair of long, straight legs. Her smooth hair fell over her shoulders, and she was holding up a phone, recording them.

The boy raised an eyebrow slightly. He had never seen such a beautiful girl at school. Could she be a transfer student?

“What are you recording? Delete the video!” The boy’s brows knitted together as he stepped forward, about to get physical.

Yu Xiaxing had no intention of revealing her identity in front of the students yet.

After all, she still needed to keep going among the students and stir up their hatred of her.

She immediately turned and ran.

The girl watched Yu Xiaxing disappear into the distance with concern. “She seemed to be heading toward the building where the principal and school board members have their offices. She couldn’t be planning to report us to the school, could she?”

The boy smiled. “Don’t overthink it. More than half the students at this school are destined for vocational college. As long as we pay our tuition every semester, the school won’t care what we do.”

The girl felt uncomfortable hearing that.

She wasn’t destined for vocational college. Her grades had been excellent when she entered the school.

She had been admitted on a scholarship for students from poor families, and the Yu Group covered her tuition and living expenses.

If that girl really told the school board, and the school board informed her family… She didn’t even dare imagine how she would face them!

The girl had completely lost the mood for anything else. All she could do was wait anxiously.

Hopefully, the school really wouldn’t interfere.

—

Back in her office, Yu Xiaxing called Principal Wang Youde over and showed him the video.

Cold sweat broke out across the principal’s back.

What did she mean by this?

Was she using the students’ violation of school rules to accuse him, the principal, of failing to do his job?

But honestly, at a school this terrible, the students’ behavior was the least of their problems.

Or did she want him to deal with the two students seriously?

Punishing the boy would be no problem.

But the girl was different. The school desperately needed students who could study well, and he truly couldn’t bear to expel her!

He secretly studied Yu Xiaxing’s expression, trying to figure out what she had in mind.

Yu Xiaxing did indeed want to come up with a way to drive the girl’s parents mad.

But she had to give that idea a legitimate pretext. Otherwise, the evaluation committee wouldn’t be able to approve it.

After thinking for a long while, she asked the principal, “How are their grades?”

A gleam appeared in Principal Wang’s eyes!

Apparently, Director Yu, just like him, favored students who performed well academically!

So she wanted to check their grades first before deciding how severe their punishment should be!

He immediately said, “The girl’s name is Xu Tian. She has excellent grades and has ranked first in her grade for years. She’s also a scholarship student from a poor family, and she has a good chance of getting into a top-tier university. I think we could just give her a private warning.”

He praised her aloud, but inwardly he felt somewhat regretful.

Xu Tian had originally had a chance of getting into one of the country’s best universities, but her scores had declined in each of the last two exams.

He had assumed her family must have run into some kind of trouble.

Only today had he learned that she had fallen in love!

What a disappointment!

Even so, she was still the school’s top student. For the sake of the school’s college-admission rate, he absolutely had to protect her.

He then turned to the boy. “The boy’s name is Zhou Chen. His family is of average means, and his grades are poor. His parents scrape together hundreds of thousands of yuan every year to send him here, yet he doesn’t study properly. All he does is get involved in this kind of nonsense! He must be dealt with seriously!”

Yu Xiaxing pondered for a moment. “No. We must treat everyone equally, regardless of their grades.”

Principal Wang’s heart sank. He cautiously asked, “Then what do you think we should do, Director Yu?”

The corners of Yu Xiaxing’s lips curled upward. She said to Principal Wang, “Let’s establish a scholarship. We’ll call it the ‘Outstanding Student Youth Growth Experience Program.’”

“We can work out the specific rules. For example, any student who ranks in the top fifty in their grade in two consecutive major exams, wins an award in a subject competition, or takes part in an outstanding social-practice activity can receive funding to openly pursue a healthy relationship with someone of the opposite sex.”

“They can also receive a ten-thousand-yuan Youth Experience Fund and won’t have to attend classes while they’re out experiencing youth.”

Yu Xiaxing silently gave herself a pat on the back.

How perfectly respectable. The evaluation committee would have no reason to reject it.

Principal Wang was horrified. “What?!”

This was completely outrageous!

What “Outstanding Student Youth Growth Experience Program”?

Did she think parents wouldn’t see that she was encouraging their children to date just because she changed the name?

Did she take parents for idiots?

How could something like this be openly announced?

Principal Wang pleaded in anguish, “Director Yu, if we really do this, the parents will complain until the school is shut down! We’ll become the laughingstock of the entire city!”

Yu Xiaxing’s smile widened.

Of course she had chosen this precisely because it was such a wonderful idea!

The school’s only top student had been slacking off, so the college-admission rate was bound to drop.

The parents would be furious. They would flood the school with complaints, expose it online…

Perfect!

She reassured Principal Wang, “Don’t worry. We’re already the laughingstock of the entire city.”

Principal Wang was rendered speechless. After an awkward silence, he finally muttered, “Fine, I suppose it’s workable. Their families are both poor anyway. Giving them some scholarship money could help support their households. Perhaps if their circumstances improved, they might even be motivated to study harder…”

Yu Xiaxing clapped her hands. “I hadn’t thought of that if you hadn’t mentioned it.”

What if they took the money and didn’t date?

What if they used it to improve their living conditions, buy study materials, or hire tutors and attend extra classes?

As a certified troublemaker, Yu Xiaxing absolutely could not let them exploit that loophole!

She added, “This scholarship must require receipts. I want every cent to be spent on dating expenses. None of it may be used for their families or their studies!”

Principal Wang grew frantic. “That really won’t do, Director Yu! This…”

Yu Xiaxing couldn’t be bothered to explain further. “Principal Wang, didn’t my grandfather make it clear to you? You’re in charge of teaching. Aside from academics, I’ll be taking control of every other aspect of the school’s operations.”

“…”

Principal Wang truly had no idea how to communicate with her anymore. “Fine, then.”

Then he reconsidered. Why was he trying to persuade her?

Rich young ladies like her didn’t understand a thing.

The school did indeed have a lot of problem students, but their parents spent hundreds of thousands of yuan each year to send their children here because they still held on to a sliver of hope.

Now that their children had done something wrong, this woman not only refused to punish them—she was rewarding them instead.

He would just wait and see whether the parents came to make a scene at the school!

Once their outrage drove her out, Principal Wang planned to report the matter to the Yu family and ask them to stop interfering in the school’s operations.

—

Soon, the bell for the break rang, followed by an announcement over the school broadcast.

“Attention, students. The following is an important notice.”

“Effective today, our school is establishing the Outstanding Student Youth Growth Experience Scholarship. This scholarship encourages students of outstanding character and academic performance to develop healthy relationships with members of the opposite sex. The prize is ten thousand yuan, and recipients may skip classes and go out to experience youth…”

The students looked at one another, then quickly began discussing it.

“What the heck? Experience youth? We can skip class and go out to experience youth?”

“Has the school gone crazy?!”

“I heard the new school board director has been studying abroad all this time. Things are so liberal overseas—she must’ve stayed there until she went crazy!”

The classroom was filled with laughter and jeers.

-

Yu Xiaxing forwarded the announcement to the parents’ group, then began fanning the flames under the alias “Dian Dian’s Mom.”

Dian Dian’s Mom: “I can’t take this anymore! I really can’t! What kind of twisted values is the school trying to promote?!”

Dian Dian’s Mom: “I heard this school board director is named Yu Xiaxing. She doesn’t know a damn thing! And she still thinks she can run the school?!”

Dian Dian’s Mom: “Parents, let’s go make a scene at the school tomorrow! We’ll file complaints and take it all the way to the Education Bureau!”

This time, someone finally joined her side.

“Dian Dian’s Mom is right. We all know that many of the children at this school aren’t understood by other schools. But we still hope they can graduate smoothly. Is the school giving up on them by doing this?”

“Tomorrow, we’ll go to the school and speak with the director in person. If she refuses to withdraw this scholarship, we’ll take it straight to the Education Bureau. The school can just wait to shut down!”

“@Everyone, chain sign-up for those who agree!”

“1”

“2”

“3”

“…”

In the end, more than twenty parents decided to come together the next day to make trouble for the school board director.

Hahahaha!

Yu Xiaxing was half-sprawled on the sofa, watching the parents curse her in the group chat, the corners of her lips curling upward.

This feels so good. Keep cursing me—say a few more!

That was, until she saw someone send: “Is the school doing this to boost the birth rate, starting with the students?”

The smile vanished from Yu Xiaxing’s face in an instant, and she abruptly sat upright.

Because she suddenly remembered the reason Fifth Brother had become paralyzed in her previous life.

It was all because of Xu Tian!
