The first to be eliminated was Valke's heavy mecha pilot, Aviva.
Knowing she couldn't defeat Zhang Lyra, who was also an A-grade, she used her long limbs to grab hold of Wang Tianwei, who was nimbly maneuvering across the field.
Shi Xiangchun provided cover fire for her, preventing that half-beast from Qilin from coming over for the time being.
Wang Tianwei reacted quickly; after being caught, she delivered a spinning kick that sent Aviva's paintball gun flying! She was just preparing for hand-to-hand combat when she carelessly gave Pearl the opportunity to breach her mental barrier.
"Hiss!"
The piercing pain in her brain grew more intense, as if someone were picking at it with a needle! Her strikes subsequently lost some of their strength!
Aviva seized the chance to mercilessly punch her in the face a few times, then immediately tried to snatch her paintball gun.
However, Wang Tianwei was jolted into clarity by the sharp pain in her nose. She summoned the same perseverance she usually used when crafting S-grade components to re-condense her mental energy, hugging the paintball gun tightly with both hands!
"Pah! Hah... it doesn't hurt at all!"
It was far worse when Senior Zhou Yu was fat!
Seeing this scene, Zhang Lyra flew into a rage.
"Let her go!!!"
With that said, she charged over at a speed even faster than before! While dodging the others' attacks, she even ran on all fours! Shi Xiangchun fired continuously, but his paintballs were always one step behind her!
Once she closed in on the two, Zhang Lyra released a star beast corpse to block the line of sight of the enemies on her right, and slammed Aviva to the ground with a vicious elbow!
Aviva only felt the world spin, followed immediately by heavy punches landing on her face.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
"Pfft!"
The first thing Wang Tianwei did after scrambling up and regaining her vision was to eliminate Aviva. Then, wiping the blood from her face, she shouted to Zhang Lyra.
"Little Bear, I'll cover you! Go eliminate their commander!"
Saying that, she turned and ran, leaving a trail of wild boar corpses along the way!
Zhang Lyra slipped toward Pearl while hugging the wall of meat, and the enemy realized their objective!
Yuna, who was the closest, had to take time to store a few of the star beast corpses within her reach into her spatial button!
But what kind of speed did Zhang Lyra possess? In just that brief moment, she had already reached Pearl and was now battling against his mental energy!
"Whoosh!"
Wang Tianwei nearly sprained her waist trying to dodge a paintball fired from a tricky angle by the enemy mecha maker!
Shi Xiangchun aimed once more, only to have his line of sight blocked again by the gruesome corpse of a mutated beast...
This pervert!
The competition was ending today; just how many star beast corpses had she stored away!!?
Just as he moved his eye away from the scope, the corpse unexpectedly vanished the next second, and a cylindrical object was hurled in his direction!
"Watch out for the bomb!!"
"Bomb!?"
Shi Xiangchun immediately dodged, but after taking only a few steps, he realized he had been tricked!! This was the military academy league; firearms and explosives were not allowed!
Looking closer, it wasn't a bomb at all! It was clearly a bone that had been gnawed completely clean!
Wait! Where was that mecha maker!? Where did she run off to!?
"Bang!"
Wearing her olive-green school uniform, Wang Tianwei hid in the bushes and aimed at Shi Xiangchun, but a sudden sharp pain struck her head again! Her hand lost its aim!
It was a mental attack!
Zhang Lyra noticed it too; Pearl had elevated his mental energy to deal with them!
Jian Jingyu gritted his teeth, wanting to use his own mental energy to protect his two teammates.
"Clang!"
Dual blades and a single blade clashed in mid-air, emitting an ear-piercing screech!
"Uargh!!!"
Zhang Lyra roared, scooping up a star beast corpse and hurling it at Pearl, who had already run over ten meters away!
This move completely shocked the four enemies!
That corpse had to weigh at least one or two tons, right!?
Aviva, who had just been eliminated and was complaining to the safety officer about how ruthless the opponent was, couldn't help but shrink her neck at the sight... The safety officer also gaped, taking a long while to snap out of it.
"Ahem... student, what did you just say? I didn't hear you clearly."
"...Nothing."
Wang Tianwei now had incredibly strong recovery abilities. Sensing the piercing pain in her mind weakening, she immediately emerged from her hiding spot! With a fierce leap to the left, she dodged Shi Xiangchun's paintball!
"Damn it!"
Seeing that he missed again, Shi Xiangchun quickly changed positions. For some reason, he did not want to engage in close combat with this A-grade mecha maker...
"Roar!!"
"Roar!!!"
It was two high-level star beasts!
Pearl's face turned pale. They had been too slow... He never expected these three people to be so difficult to deal with!
For two A-grades to actually withstand his mental attacks was simply unscientific!?
Every time he broke through, the speed at which they rebuilt their barriers became even faster!
And he had no idea what that half-beast grew up eating!? Her strength was terrifying!
He didn't dare stop now, afraid that if she caught him, she would tear him apart alive!
After fighting for so long, the only one eliminated was his own teammate... This was a massive loss!
In the blink of an eye, the two high-level star beasts arrived at the center of their brawl!
From their appearance, they were at least nearly four meters tall! They had gray fur, making it hard to tell if they were wolves or something else. Their ears stood tall, and there were two long streaks of white fur beneath their noses!
The star beasts ran incredibly fast! Their movements were also extremely agile, and the moment they arrived, they began attacking the people from Valke!
Wang Tianwei and her group had just showered this morning, and they had been very careful not to get any pig blood on themselves!
The instant the star beasts showed up, Wang Tianwei pulled out odor-masking spray and applied a few extra squirts to herself!!
Shi Xiangchun had already hidden in a tree. He swapped his paintball gun for a rifle and continuously fired at the star beasts!
"Yuna! Throw the mutated beast corpses out!"
"So annoying!!!"
Aviva had already been taken away from the battlefield by the safety officer. Standing at the entrance of the aircraft, she looked over with worry.
"Those are high-level star beasts..."
The aircraft had not yet taken off, and all the safety officers had disembarked. Four of them were already inside their mechas.
"All safety officers, be ready to rescue the students at any moment."
"Copy that."
At this moment, only a sparse few comments floated across the live streams of the two military academies. Everyone was tense about the safety of the kids and the final outcome of this battle!
Chao Hao and Fu Manli felt their legs turn to jelly as they stood outside the treatment room at the camp hospital...
Huang Yan was undergoing treatment. Dr. Todd said that the child's mental energy was upgrading, while the three students on the live stream had deliberately lured over high-level star beasts to avoid being eliminated...
Neither side was giving them any peace of mind!!
Huang Taihe had spent a lot of effort to finally be allowed into the competition camp. He hurried to the hospital, just in time to run into the two teachers looking anxious at the door of the treatment room.
"Huang Yan, is he!?"
"He's upgrading."
Chao Hao answered immediately.
This person's face frequently appeared on the pages of major media outlets, so he was quite familiar with him.
"His mental energy is upgrading. Dr. Todd and the camp doctors are all inside. They said it's not a major issue, but we just need to wait a little longer before he wakes up."
"Phew... That's wonderful."
Huang Taihe clutched his chest and sat down to the side.
Todd hadn't replied to any messages since entering the treatment room; he was nearly scared to death!!
A mental energy upgrade was a good thing. He had thought his son wasn't going to make it!
Shen Xi... Huang Yan has upgraded, and his physical fitness has grown stronger! He'll be able to live longer! And healthier!
Boo-hoo, the child has worked so hard and made us so proud!
Fu Manli watched Huang Taihe take a few deep breaths before covering his entire face with his hands, after which glistening tears continuously fell from his cheeks.
Should she go over and comfort him?
Or maybe she should just pretend she didn't see anything...
