“Have a baby! Tonight—we’re having a baby tonight!”
Zhou Suisui dropped that bombshell and hung up before he could even react.
“Have… have a baby?! They’re having a baby?!”
Zhou Sui'an’s lips trembled. He was too shocked even to cry.
A tiny, exquisitely adorable child appeared in his mind, with cool, handsome features identical to Jiang Zongyan’s, riding on his head and calling him “Uncle.”
Oh, God! The sky was falling!
His little sister was only nineteen!
How could she have a baby?
She was still a child herself!
“That brat!”
Furious, Zhou Sui'an crushed his phone in his hand and shot to his feet, ready to charge outside.
But the drugs had left him weak. The moment he stood, darkness swept across his vision, and he collapsed heavily back onto the sofa.
“Young Master!”
Cui Wu hurriedly caught him. “You’re not well. Don’t push yourself.”
Thinking that Jiang Zongyan might be bullying his little sister right now, he still refused to give up. He snatched up his phone and called him over and over again.
One call after another—until the other party finally blocked him.
“Waaah…”
Zhou Sui'an burst into tears, looking as helpless as a child. “Jiang the Beast won’t answer my calls, and neither will my sister.”
Cui Wu was speechless.
What use was crying now?
Miss had nearly gone insane with worry just moments ago!
Although she had no idea what Miss had said on the phone—something about having a baby and doing it tonight—she knew Miss well enough to understand that she would never go that far, no matter how much she liked Jiang Zongyan.
She certainly wouldn’t abandon her principles so easily for a man.
Most likely, she had deliberately lied to her brother.
Young Master was simply too concerned to see through such an obvious lie.
“Young Master, Miss isn’t that kind of person. There may be some misunderstanding.”
“What misunderstanding could there be?!”
Clutching his phone, Zhou Sui'an bared his teeth in frustration. “My sister is so adorable, and Jiang Zongyan, that big bad wolf, has had his eye on her for ages. Poor Suisui… She’s so innocent!”
The thought made Zhou Sui'an rake both hands through his hair in agitation as wave after wave of regret crashed over him.
He truly regretted it!
If he hadn’t been bewitched into going to the apartment with Su Wan for that damn farewell dinner…
Suisui wouldn’t have gotten so angry, and she wouldn’t have decided to have a baby with Jiang Zongyan!
No, he couldn’t wait any longer!
Zhou Sui'an raised a trembling finger and pointed toward the door.
“Go—now! Arrange a private jet! I’m going to H City this instant!”
Looking at him, frantic and furious, Cui Wu couldn’t help feeling speechless.
If he’d known this would happen, why had he gone looking for Su Wan in the first place?
“Young Master, it’s nighttime, and it isn’t safe. We should wait until tomorrow.”
“By tomorrow, it’ll be too late!”
The veins on Zhou Sui'an’s forehead throbbed. If they waited any longer, she might really end up pregnant!
He wished he could appear beside Zhou Suisui this very second.
No, no!
He immediately called Wen Jing.
When Wen Jing answered, he had been sleeping soundly with his girlfriend in his arms.
“Boss?”
“You need to arrange a private jet immediately. I’m going to H City right now.” Zhou Sui'an’s voice was urgent.
“Right now?”
Wen Jing drowsily glanced out the window. “It’s nighttime.”
“Go! Ask one more question and you’re losing this month’s bonus!”
Zhou Sui'an was beside himself with impatience.
Yet Wen Jing kept mumbling and asking questions.
The moment he heard that his bonus was about to vanish, Wen Jing sprang out of bed.
“Right away! I’ll be there in a minute!”
Only then did Zhou Sui'an let out a sigh of relief.
Just then, Su Wan’s furious voice rang out from beyond the door.
“Let me in!”
“I’m Su Wan! Who among you dares to stop me?”
Su Wan?
At the sound of her voice, Cui Wu and Zhou Sui'an froze at the same time.
Zhou Sui'an’s face darkened. His hands clenched tightly into fists, his eyes filled with fury and disappointment.
She had set him up, and she still had the nerve to come to the Zhou residence?
“Young Master, stay seated. I’ll go say a few words to her.”
After saying that, Cui Wu turned and walked out.
Outside, the light drizzle had somehow turned into a torrential downpour.
Su Wan hadn’t brought an umbrella. She was drenched from head to toe, her qipao clinging to her body, making her look both miserable and aggrieved.
A-Ling and A-Biao stood in front of her like two door gods, their faces expressionless.
“Our young master doesn’t want to see you!”
“Please leave!”
“Otherwise… you’ll be trespassing on private property, and we won’t be polite!”
As he spoke, A-Biao impatiently shoved Su Wan toward the gate.
How could Su Wan possibly be his match?
With a casual push from A-Biao, she fell sideways. Her knee struck the ground, scraping the skin raw. Pain shot through her, and she grimaced before glaring at the two men through clenched teeth.
“You two guard dogs actually dared to push me?”
A-Ling and A-Biao’s expressions shifted slightly.
They were about to respond when Cui Wu’s gentle yet resolute voice came from behind them.
“They don’t steal or rob. They earn money through their own abilities, fair and square!”
Seeing Cui Wu approach, A-Ling and A-Biao voluntarily stepped aside to make way.
Holding an umbrella, Cui Wu walked up to Su Wan and looked down at her bedraggled appearance. There wasn’t a trace of sympathy in her eyes. She gave a cold snort.
“Some people, on the other hand… keep claiming they’re strong, independent women who want to make their own way in the world, yet secretly engage in every kind of crooked, underhanded behavior.”
“Today, I’d like to ask you on behalf of our young master: Do you feel ashamed? Do you regret it?”
“Regret? What do I have to regret?”
Su Wan looked at Cui Wu’s agitated expression and let out a low, mocking laugh.
Seeing that she could still laugh, Cui Wu questioned her in anguish, “Just how did my young master wrong you? He’s sincere, kind, and has sound principles. He’s handsome, and he’s the president of the Zhou Group. How is he not good enough for you? Why did you have to humiliate and hurt him like this?”
Su Wan slowly raised her head.
Her face was soaked by the rain, yet there wasn’t the slightest hint of guilt. Instead, it was filled with resentment and venom.
“Why? You want to know why?”
If Cui Wu knew what Zhou Sui'an had done to her in the past, she would understand why Su Wan hated him so much!
Besides, what was one Zhou Sui'an worth?
Even ten Zhou Sui'ans wouldn’t satisfy her ambitions!
She intended to climb upward by stepping on people born into privilege.
She wanted to become just like them—powerful enough to command the winds and clouds, powerful enough to crush a person as easily as an ant!
She would climb to the top and trample beneath her feet every one of those people who had once looked down on her!
Those words roared wildly inside her heart, but on the surface, she merely curved her lips into a provocative smile.
“Cui Wu, you’re nothing but a dog Zhou Suisui keeps. She doesn’t like me, so she deliberately made you come after me.”
Looking at her twisted expression, Cui Wu found the whole thing utterly absurd.
“There’s something wrong with your worldview. No one in this world owes you anything! My young master will never see you again, so give up!”
“Heh.”
Su Wan was completely unconcerned. Her smile grew even more smug.
“Is that so?”
She firmly believed that Zhou Sui'an would come out to see her. He would definitely soften.
Not because Zhou Sui'an loved her that much.
But because she knew that hidden in Zhou Sui'an’s heart was a woman he had loved but could never have—his white moonlight.
