Yunyang would have liked to tell Sister-in-law Adaina, but she hadn’t actually encountered Camilla anywhere herself.
The restaurant was crowded at this hour, and quite a few people had turned to look over out of curiosity because of their conversation.
Yunyang exchanged a glance with You Lu, then pulled Sister-in-law Adaina over to sit beside a large table in the corner.
After activating the soundproofing and privacy devices, she took out the rattan vase and artificial butterflies Leonardo had previously won from her storage space.
“Sister-in-law Adaina, take a look at this first.”
Adaina eagerly accepted the two items. After examining them carefully, she spotted the familiar genetic seal on the bottom inside the vase.
“Camilla made this!” she exclaimed, hugging the rattan vase tightly. “Camilla loves making things like this. Yangyang, can you tell me where you got this vase?”
The female from that livestream really was Adaina’s younger sister.
Female citizens of the Federation were indeed rare, but that was only in comparison with males. In total, there were actually more females than the population of China, where she had lived in her previous life.
Under such circumstances, she had merely happened to stumble across a livestream—and had somehow encountered an acquaintance’s acquaintance.
Yunyang marveled at the coincidence for a moment before telling Adaina the entire story.
Yun Zhanming, just like Yun Shaoqi, had always treated his younger sister very well, so she was willing to share everything she knew with Adaina.
After learning what had happened, Adaina hurriedly opened StarNet and searched for the livestream Yunyang had mentioned.
However, when she clicked into it, she discovered that the other party hadn’t streamed for many days. The latest record on StarNet was still the livestream where the vase had been given away.
Adaina could only try sending Camilla a message, but Camilla seemed to have restricted her account, preventing messages from strangers from getting through.
She made no attempt to hide what she was doing from Yunyang. Seeing this, Yunyang waved to Leonardo.
Leonardo leaned over and proactively opened his light-brain.
As the Lucky Fox who had won the prize, Leonardo was able to send messages to Camilla.
But Camilla wasn’t online, and the message remained marked as unread. Leonardo could only shake her head at Adaina.
Adaina had finally received news of her younger sister, only to find that she still couldn’t contact her. Disappointment was clearly written across her face.
Still, having news of her sister was good enough.
Adaina decisively followed Camilla’s account. That way, she would receive a notification as soon as Camilla posted anything.
She wanted to watch the replay of Camilla’s last livestream, but the entire stream had been far too long, and this was not a convenient time to watch it.
Adaina could only close the light screen for now and look sincerely at Yunyang. “Thank you, Your Highness Yunyang.”
Now that her emotions had settled, she had regained the proper manners expected of her.
Yunyang smiled and shook her head. After thinking for a moment, she casually asked, “Sister-in-law Adaina, had your younger sister never contacted you before?”
The fact that Camilla could livestream on StarNet proved that her light-brain was functioning normally. There was no reason she wouldn’t be able to contact her family.
Adaina was extremely grateful that Yunyang had helped her find a way to reach her sister, so she told her the whole story in one breath.
“Camilla took her husbands on a trip before. At first, she would occasionally share photos from their travels with me or send me some local specialties.”
“But starting three years ago, Camilla became completely unreachable. I sent her countless messages, but she never replied, and she never returned to Central Star either.”
“At first, I thought something had happened to her, so I sought help from the Federation Female Protection Association. But the people there said that Camilla’s light-brain signal was normal…”
The more Yunyang listened, the tighter her brows drew together.
Her own mother had not completely cut off contact with the family, but she had also taken her husbands on a trip and never returned.
What was more, her mother had left on that trip three years ago as well—after Yunyang came of age.
Yunyang turned to Yun Zhanming. “Brother Zhanming, has Mother contacted you recently?”
Yun Zhanming blinked.
Mother had contacted him of her own accord?
To be honest, after he had come of age, his parents had barely cared whether he was alive or dead.
Forget asking after his well-being—even without the benefit of their shared female, his mother would be lucky to contact him once a year.
Of course, it wasn’t just him. Other than Yangyang, all the siblings received the same treatment from their parents. At least they were fair.
Yun Zhanming took a moment to pity himself before shaking his head at Yunyang. “Yangyang, the last time Mother contacted me was last year.”
Yunyang fell silent.
There was no need to ask Brother Shaoqi, then.
Compared with her brothers and younger brothers, their mother had spoiled her far too much.
That was precisely why Yunyang was even more eager to know whether her mother was safe.
But as things stood, she could get no useful information unless she asked her mother directly.
Wait.
If her mother wasn’t replying, didn’t she still have her father?
Yunyang’s eyes lit up. She immediately searched for her biological father, whom she hadn’t contacted in a very long time, and sent him a message.
Dad, where are you and Mom traveling these days?
It wasn’t strange that she hadn’t thought of him sooner. Her father simply had very little presence in her life.
Her mother was the one who sent her allowance on time every month, and her mother was also the one who occasionally chatted with her. Her father hadn’t taken the initiative to contact her in ages.
Feng Hao didn’t reply immediately. Yunyang wasn’t in a hurry. Having one more person meant one more possible lead.
Seeing that Yunyang and Yun Zhanming had no intention of continuing their conversation, Adaina immediately stood up. “Your Highness Yunyang, I still have something to attend to. I’ll take my leave first.”
Yunyang knew that Adaina was anxious to find her sister, so she nodded.
It wasn’t as if she didn’t already have Yun Zhanming’s contact information. If there was anything she wanted to discuss, they could always message each other later.
Only then did Adaina leave the Moonrail Food Pavilion with her husbands.
Before leaving, however, she went to find the manager of the Moonrail Food Pavilion and asked them to charge the cost of Yunyang and You Lu’s meal to her account later.
After Adaina and her husbands departed, Yunyang rejoined You Lu.
You Lu didn’t ask about Adaina or her sister. After scanning the ordering code with her light-brain, she began choosing what they would have for dinner.
The two close friends chatted and laughed as they ate, not forgetting to send photos of their meal to the group chat.
Far away on a frontier planet, Chu Zhiwei glanced at the messages in the group. The corners of her lips lifted unconsciously.
Chu Zhiwei: Looks delicious. Let’s eat together once I get back.
You Lu: Yay! Sister Zhiwei, how many more days will you be over there?
Chu Zhiwei: If nothing unexpected happens, I should be back the day after tomorrow.
Yunyang: Then come to my place for hot pot the night after tomorrow?
You Lu: Yes!
Chu Zhiwei: My husbands have hearty appetites, so Yangyang, you’d better prepare yourself for a serious expense.
Yunyang: Bring it on. I’m fully prepared.
The three of them chatted in the group for a while. You Lu then dragged Yunyang over to show her the treasures she had collected over the past few days.
They spent nearly an hour over dinner before finally feeling satisfied.
Before they left, You Lu secretly tried to pay the bill first, only to be told that someone had already taken care of it.
