"We meet again."
The handsome actor and the frail young woman spoke at the same time, then exchanged a surprised glance.
Qi Xu immediately sensed that these two... didn't exactly get along.
They definitely knew each other.
"What a coincidence, you guys are here too. Why are there so few people at the carousel today?"
The handsome actor smiled before speaking, "Probably because this one is relatively easy? Most players tried this one first yesterday, and basically everyone passed it."
The frail girl, however, curled her lips slightly, delivering the most vicious words in the weakest tone.
"It seems the person behind me has quite the background, huh? To make Boss Shadowkill, the leader of District 09, deliberately disguise himself as an innocent boy. Are you resorting to a honey trap because you can't win with sheer strength?"
Although she immediately coughed up blood after saying this, it directly broke Shadowkill's composure.
"You're pushing your luck. Do you think just because I can't kill you in this instance, you can act so presumptuously? You're really something. I'm just greeting someone I know, what's wrong with that?"
The blood-coughing girl chuckled softly, "What a coincidence, I know the person you know too. I just want to remind innocent people not to be deceived by a beast in human clothing like you."
"Who exactly is the beast in human clothing? Coughing up blood like a dying dog, why don't you just die already? Do you really think you can live a long time just because your nickname is Endless Longevity?"
"Sigh, thanks to you, I will definitely live a long life. When the grass grows tall on your grave, out of consideration for our past relationship, I'd be willing to dig up your tomb so you can become a homeless, wandering ghost."
"You..."
Having said such a long paragraph in one breath, Endless Longevity couldn't quite handle it. She started coughing up blood madly again, coughing so hard she could barely stand.
She fell straight backward. If Qi Xu hadn't stepped aside, she would have fallen right into Qi Xu's arms.
But... Qi Xu never saved any tenderness for strangers.
So Qi Xu simply stepped out of the way. Endless Longevity fell heavily to the ground. If it hadn't been for a player behind Qi Xu helping to catch her slightly, the back of her head might have smashed directly onto the floor.
This player was quite interesting, though.
After helping her, the player felt their action was a bit foolish. After placing her head on the ground, the player took a step back, only to find that the three people at the center of the drama were all turning their heads to look at them.
The player decided to just skip the carousel ride altogether.
"Wait a moment, thank... thank you."
"No, no, no, don't thank me, I didn't do it, it wasn't me, I didn't do anything."
The girl waved her hands frantically, refusing to admit to it at all, and turned around and ran as if someone were chasing her.
Shadowkill looked at Qi Xu with some embarrassment. "Sorry to make you watch this joke. Don't be fooled by this woman's frail act; it's all a lie. She is Endless Longevity from District 02. We met before in the cross-district arena challenge, and she screwed me over badly, so I was a bit triggered just now."
Qi Xu quickly waved a hand. "So are you still going to play this? If not, I'll go in first."
"Alright, you go first. I'm in no rush."
Shadowkill stepped aside in a very gentlemanly manner.
Qi Xu took two steps forward, then suddenly turned back and said, "Don't argue, you two. Meeting here is destiny. The secret to clearing the Log Flume is to not let your clothes get wet, and for the Snowy Mountain Roller Coaster, it's to keep your heart rate steady without major fluctuations. So stop arguing, complete the instance tasks properly, and hurry up to find clues!"
After saying this, Qi Xu sighed, feeling a bit mentally exhausted, shook their head, and walked straight away.
Shadowkill and Endless Longevity stood there in a daze for a long time, completely dumbfounded. They hadn't expected the invincible Black Whirlwind, ranked number one across all servers, to have such a peace-loving personality.
They had always heard that District 88 was quite united. If their boss had this kind of personality, then it made perfect sense.
Qi Xu originally thought the two were arguing on purpose, putting on a show for her to see, so when entering the shielded area of the amusement ride, she didn't rush in but specifically turned back to observe.
Unexpectedly, the fierce expressions on their faces were even more intense than before... especially Shadowkill, whose eyes were full of murderous intent. If he could attack, he definitely would have charged by now. Gentlemanly demeanor? It didn't exist at all.
This Endless Longevity was quite capable. It wasn't easy to infuriate someone with Shadowkill's temperament to such an extent.
Qi Xu turned her attention back to the carousel and found that... it was practically throwing the answer in everyone's faces, as if afraid someone might miss it.
On the ceiling directly above the carousel, the standard riding posture was painted: one hand holding the handle in front, and the other hand placed on the side of the shoulder as if holding a balloon.
Below this action was a large checkmark, while the actions of letting go with both hands or gripping the handle tightly with both hands all had an X mark below them.
This... anyone with eyes could see it, right?
After sitting securely and holding on, the carousel slowly started, playing a brisk waltz. The stained glass on the wooden horses refracted fragmented spots of light in the sun, like a handful of dancing stars had been scattered.
Qi Xu thought it would spin madly non-stop like the spinning teacups, making you throw up right after getting off, or that the horses would swing up and down rapidly like a pendulum ride.
But neither happened; it was beautiful from beginning to end.
However, at three and a half laps, Qi Xu didn't find anything unusual. That smart young guy from yesterday hadn't lied either.
Whether it was the surrounding environment, the tourists on the carousel, or the NPCs, there were no changes at all. Qi Xu observed everything, including the rhythm of the music and the details on the horses.
So, Qi Xu very decisively took both hands off the handle in front of the wooden horse.
When the music stopped, the staff member said regretfully to Qi Xu, "Sorry, challenge failed."
Qi Xu stood at the exit, not rushing to leave, and recalled all the details of the ride just now.
She repeatedly hummed that indistinct carousel nursery rhyme, "Stuck to the railing, the wind cannot blow it away."
What was stuck? Previously, she thought it was blood, but to be honest, after playing it just now, she found that... this game didn't contain any horror elements.
What was sweet and sticky...
Just as Qi Xu was getting a clue, Shadowkill also came out of the exit. "Hm? You haven't left yet? I'm really sorry about just now. That girl killed my teammate, so when I saw her, I simply couldn't hold back."
Qi Xu smiled. "It's fine, it didn't affect me. So, did you clear it?"
Shadowkill nodded. "This one is pretty simple."
"I still have rides I haven't finished, so I'll get back to it."
After saying that, Qi Xu turned around and left, first going to catch a 4D movie. This movie didn't require successfully solving puzzles to clear; it was meant for recreation and relaxation. Qi Xu wanted to go in and recover some stamina, then come out to grind the carousel again.
But upon seeing the movie title, Qi Xu almost burst out laughing.
"Ball Ball Fights the Evil Rich Girl."
