The ballpoint pen kindly explained to her, "Bian used to be the Goddess of Luck in our Zone 896. Whenever there's a probability-based problem, tossing it to her is always the right move—her luck stats are ridiculously high."
Fortune God's Only Daughter belatedly clapped her hands in realization. So that's how it was... Whew, good thing she held her tongue earlier and didn't blurt out anything rude, or she'd have been proven wrong yet again...
It wasn’t until everyone turned to look at her that Fortune God's Only Daughter realized how silly she must have appeared. She quickly stopped, clasped her hands behind her back, and snapped, "What are you staring at? Kill the monsters! They're right here!"
Then she grabbed a chair leg and dashed forward with a clatter...
From the way she swung that stick, it was clear the kid was in high spirits.
It took the group another 20 minutes or so to clear out all 200 of those little scorpion monsters.
Everyone jumped and cheered, hugging the fish tank in excitement. No matter what, this dungeon had been incredibly stressful—so many trials, so many rules and hidden mechanics, all weighing heavily on the atmosphere.
Though they trusted each other, dark thoughts about worst-case scenarios had crept in involuntarily.
Now, with the hope of the whole team making it out safely, they could finally breathe a sigh of relief!
"This is so epic, girls! We actually cleared such a messed-up dungeon!"
Lala wiped her tears with her big hands. "I’m so moved... I don’t know why, but I really feel like crying..."
"Hold the tears. Use this healing card first," Qi Xu said, handing her a basic healing card.
"It’s just minor injuries. No need."
"Be good. Listen to me."
Lala bashfully stomped her feet. "Fine then... Sniff, I’m just so touched!"
Then, the chessboard reappeared. Though they hadn’t decided whether to proceed further, playing another round wouldn’t hurt—and Bian loved it, bouncing over to her seat without hesitation.
Since Qi Xu had pointed it out last time, Qiuqiu had adjusted the chessboard’s position.
Like before, it hovered above the ruins. Bian hopped over and sat down, then turned and blew a heart at Whirlwind Boss.
"Go, Bian!"
"I can probably buy us 40 to 45 minutes. You’ve all worked hard—rest up. We’ll discuss the rest after I finish this game, okay?"
Luo Xinpan sat elegantly in her chair, a far cry from her first-round performance where she’d clung to the table leg mid-air, terrified of heights and afraid of falling.
But now, her eyes burned with a ruthless determination that screamed, "I’m going to crush my opponent."
Qi Xu could only think one thing: "Confidence radiates from every pore." This version of Bian was downright dazzling!
Each move allowed 15 seconds of thinking time, and Luo Xinpan pushed it to the limit, placing her pieces at the 14th second every time.
Meanwhile, the others took the chance to recover, sharing whatever they had to restore stamina or heal injuries.
Fortune God's Only Daughter sat cross-legged, eyes closed, neither using any healing items nor bothering with her wounds. She just stared blankly ahead.
Dongfang Yuan was baffled.
"You don’t have a single healing item? No way someone’s luck is worse than mine!"
Fortune God's Only Daughter lifted her eyes with icy disdain. "What do you know? These minor scratches don’t need healing items!"
"Then, sis, you want one?"
Dongfang Yuan held out a basic injury-healing card as she asked.
Fortune God's Only Daughter’s expression flipped instantly—from aloof to grinning.
"Really? Thanks, sis—"
"Psych."
Before she could roll her eyes, Dongfang Yuan tossed the card into her lap, then proudly puffed out her chest.
Look at me, living large now! Last team dungeon, I was the one getting handouts. Now I can spare some for the less fortunate.
Qi Xu asked curiously, "What’s the deal? You’ve upgraded to a Level 6 vehicle but still don’t have healing items?"
Fortune God's Only Daughter sighed. "You’ve all been in the game long enough to know—some people’s loot luck is tied to specific items, or completely barred from others."
Blessed by Luck nodded furiously inside the fish tank. "Yeah! My unlucky little brother survived on dog food for months. If Whirlwind Boss hadn’t recruited him, who knows if he’d have made it!"
"And Warwolf009? Always pulls weapons! So jealous! But Comrade Song? Never gets upgrade card fragments," Dongfang Yuan added enviously.
"Exactly. Me? I never pull anything related to healing. Those items are rare, and most people won’t trade them. Plus, those jerks from Zone 444 used to ignore me outright—never wanted to swap."
Qi Xu couldn’t resist digging deeper. "So what’s the story between you guys? Feels like a love-hate thing. I gave you location cards and duel cards, yet you never fought."
"Ugh—don’t just ask outright like that! It’s embarrassing!"
Qi Xu figured she had the gist—some had been both allies and enemies in past rounds, their roles shifting each game. That’s why they were so conflicted, unable to bring themselves to fight.
Lala comforted Fortune God's Only Daughter. "Don’t worry! If you ever need healing items, just trade with 'MelonLovesMelons.' Or go to her if you’re hurt. She’s basically an ambulance—seven out of ten boxes she opens are healing-related!"
Fortune God's Only Daughter’s eyes lit up. "Really? She’d trade with me? Hook me up! I’ve got 12 types of metal—the materials needed for Level 6 vehicle upgrades."
Lala tilted her head, puzzled. "Of course she would! I like you, and we’re all sisters here. Just ask whenever you need help! No need for payment—that’s what friends do."
Fortune God's Only Daughter suddenly didn’t want to continue the conversation. She looked up at the sky, throat tight. "So hot today. Stupid weather."
Breaking Cocoon into Butterfly immediately pulled out a princess-style fan. "Here, take this. Stole it from Whirlwind Boss. One wave cools you right down."
"No thanks..."
"Then I’ll fan you. Scoot closer—we’ll both stay cool."
Fortune God's Only Daughter’s cheeks burned red. She flopped facedown. "Thanks. I’ll nap now."
"Huh? Pretty sure she’s blushing. Look at her ears—they’re red!" Dongfang Yuan delivered the killing observation.
Qi Xu played along, giving a thumbs-up. "Sharp as ever, sis."
"GAHHH! Shut up already! Hey, Bian—can’t you play faster!?"
