Qi Xu and Warwolf 007 were the initiators of two cross-region challenge matches, where the winner could freely select any one item from the loser’s supplies.
Before Qi Xu lay all of Warwolf 007’s possessions.
The guy was pretty broke—aside from a Tier-6 weapon, a sniper rifle, he didn’t have much else worth taking. He must’ve just reached Level 5, not even having many vehicle upgrade cards, not as well-off as his old buddy Warwolf 009.
Qi Xu didn’t plan to take anything too valuable—after all, what he really wanted was the person himself. But then his eyes landed on the Universal Axis...
This was an essential item for upgrading to a Tier-7 vehicle. Though it was still too early to need it... it was so tempting!
After a moment’s hesitation, Qi Xu took a single piece of plastic.
Warwolf 007 had already braced himself to lose his precious sniper rifle, only to watch in disbelief as Qi Xu took just one piece of plastic!!
No mistake—his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him! It really was just a piece of plastic!
Snapping out of his shock, Warwolf 007 quickly exclaimed, "Boss Whirlwind, from now on, we’ll follow your lead! You tell us to catch a dog, we won’t chase a chicken. You tell us to take a solid dump, we won’t leave it runny!"
Qi Xu was thoroughly pleased. This Warwolf 007 seemed even quicker to adapt than Warwolf 009! Though... his way of talking wasn’t exactly refined—always bringing up crap or diarrhea...
"From now on, we’re all in the same region. There’ll be plenty more events like this—let’s combine our strengths."
"Got it, boss! No problem! You can just call me Little Seven, hahaha!"
Qi Xu had brought along his pets, Little Seven and Sweet Girl, today. Earlier, when he stepped onto the stage, he hadn’t taken them up since the opponent didn’t have any pets.
The two little ones had been sitting obediently to the side, not moving a muscle, quietly observing and learning.
That was until Little Seven heard someone else being called "Little Seven." The dog let out a few confused barks.
Warwolf 007, still riding high on excitement, grinned. "Hey there, little pup! Are you welcoming me too? We’re teammates now!"
Qi Xu smiled awkwardly. "Uh... his name is Little Seven..."
Warwolf 009 instantly burst into laughter, clutching his stomach and nearly doubling over.
Warwolf 007 scratched his head sheepishly. "Hah, never mind. I’ll stick with 007—way cooler anyway."
Then, to ease the awkwardness, he grabbed Warwolf 009 in a bear hug. "Losing feels better than winning this time! Hahaha! Finally seeing you again! Next time, let’s win the boss over too!"
Qi Xu’s eyelid twitched slightly. Yeah... let’s not.
Warwolf 001 was too stubborn. Qi Xu planned to take it slow, aiming to gather everyone from 002 to 008 first. According to Warwolf 009, there were other team members like medics—wondered if he’d run into them.
Once he really assembled the whole group, even Warwolf 001’s stubbornness wouldn’t hold out.
The cross-region challenge concluded perfectly. As the team leader, Qi Xu received the collective victory rewards, with absolute authority over their distribution.
"Survival Coins ×1000, Energy Stones ×1000, Vehicle Upgrade Cards ×1000, Weapon Enhancement Cards ×100, Three-Dimensional Attribute Boost Pills ×10, Luck-Based Basic Material Packs ×10, Protective Talismans ×10, Luck Cards ×10, Advanced 4-Hour Fuel Packs ×10, Universal Item Upgrade Cards ×10."
Calculated per person for a 10-member team, the rewards were genuinely impressive.
After a brief hesitation, Qi Xu decided to evenly distribute everything except the Vehicle Upgrade Cards. A little selfishness was necessary.
Upgrading his vehicle further would require 10,000 Vehicle Upgrade Cards. Securing the server’s top reward again would be much harder than before.
He had to seize every opportunity to gather more upgrade cards.
The month was almost over, and a new server merge was likely coming. The aftermath of the Princess’s Banquet dungeon, combined with the extreme heat, had claimed many lives.
Plenty of people had sharp minds. If some had already formed teams or factions, they might pool resources to prioritize upgrading one member.
If Qi Xu stayed passive, just letting things unfold naturally, he might lose out on the server-wide announcement rewards.
And those rewards were too good to let slip.
Besides, to participate in this cross-region challenge, Qi Xu had spent an extra DIY Dungeon Card. There was no reason to divide all the rewards equally after putting in so much effort.
Just as Qi Xu finalized his decision and prepared to explain the distribution, everyone suddenly felt dizzy—each was teleported back to their original locations.
When Qi Xu opened his eyes, he was already inside his vehicle. Little Seven and Sweet Girl, startled, relaxed only after confirming their owner was nearby.
Qi Xu first fed the two pets a nutrient solution, then hurriedly checked the chat lobby’s user list. Seeing Warwolf 007 and the others had also returned, he nearly laughed out loud in triumph!
Though District 632 hadn’t won, Warwolf 007 mentioned their 10 participants weren’t even their strongest. Still, their overall strength was solid.
In the long run, recruiting these experts from District 632 outweighed the temporary rewards.
Most players hadn’t yet realized that in cross-region challenges, selecting strong teammates was key. Many just picked randomly or kicked out those they disliked...
Qi Xu had seized the advantage early.
He immediately tagged everyone in the challenge’s group chat.
Qi Xu had initially debated whether to explain the Vehicle Upgrade Card situation. Then it hit him—honesty was best. Lay it all out upfront.
Better than letting the system stir trouble, like revealing the distribution unfairly after the fact.
After all, its role was to sow discord among players. It might very well do exactly that. So laying everything out clearly from the start was wiser. If anyone disagreed, they could part ways.
Addressing conflicts early was always better than letting them fester.
"The rewards were sent to me collectively. I’ll distribute them in the group—everyone remember to claim yours. Song Peifeng, I’ll give you an extra set of Vehicle Upgrade Card fragments privately. Feel free to trade me any supplies for them.
Since I also used an extra DIY Dungeon Card, and the card’s rewards and monsters were bought with Survival Coins, I’ll keep 500 of the 1000 Vehicle Upgrade Cards from the shared rewards. The rest will be split evenly. Any objections?"
Old White Dragon in the Waves: "No complaints! This haul’s insane! An hour’s work for all this loot? Boss, take me along next time too!"
A Swimming & Fitness Coach Chen: "Boss, you’re way too generous. Kinda makes me feel bad..."
Watch Me Cut You Down: "No issues here. Just hoping for another round of this challenge."
Breaking Cocoon into Butterfly: "Don’t worry, boss. No one’s objecting."
