Xiao Qitang, out!
But he still had plenty to say.
Xiao Wai: “You’ve been eliminated. You’re dead, so you can’t speak anymore.”
Xiao Qitang: “What about last words?”
Xiao Wai: “No last words. But you can choose to give the three cards in your hand to someone. This is important. If you were truly wrongfully killed, the information on your cards might help your teammates.”
Xiao Qitang stared down at the three cards in his hand, all of which contained information about Alice, and fell into deep thought.
Zhao Wen: “Bro, hurry up. Stop dragging your feet.”
Zhao Xin: “Exactly, Bro. If you’re a good guy, give them to me.”
Xiao Qitang had no desire whatsoever to give the cards to the younger brother and sister who had raised their hands to vote him out at the first opportunity.
He let out a cold snort and said, “I’ll think about it.”
Xiao Wai gave a bitter smile. “Don’t think too long, Bro. We’re short on time, and there are still plenty of rounds left.”
“All right, then I’ll…” Xiao Qitang stood up with the cards in hand and circled behind everyone. In the end, he stretched out his arm and placed all three cards in front of Zhu Liuyue.
He lifted his chin and said, “Alice, I won’t let anyone hurt you. So you should keep your information cards yourself.”
Zhao Xin and Tan Zhi exchanged another glance and muttered in perfect unison, “Tsk. What a simp.”
Zhao Wen nodded vigorously.
In the end, Zhu Liuyue received the cards.
She glanced at them.
There was quite a bit of important information.
[Alice: The flowers in the Little Gardener’s greenhouse are exceptionally bright and beautiful. Apparently, he uses a special fertilizer.]
What kind of fertilizer was it? This alone was enough to make her suspect that Alice belonged to the Demon King’s faction.
[Alice: No one knows that the Little Gardener’s singing voice is in no way inferior to that of Tanas, the singer from Alchemy City.]
After all, she was an elf. Elves were naturally gifted in song and dance.
[Alice: The person the Little Gardener secretly loves is deep within the Forgotten Forest.]
Could it be the Demon King?
There were only seven people left on the field.
The second round of the game involved answering questions posed by the DM. Each correct answer earned two magic crystals.
At present, only Ye Yunche, who had just successfully reported Xiao Qitang, had ten magic crystals. Everyone else had none.
As a result, everyone was much more enthusiastic this round.
Xiao Wai: “What is the treasure of the Forgotten Forest?”
Zhao Wen: “Lots and lots of magic crystals?”
Xiao Wai: “Incorrect.”
Zhu Liuyue: “The dragon’s underground lair.”
Xiao Wai: “Correct. You receive two magic crystals. A reminder to everyone: all the answers are hidden in your storylines and character cards.”
“Next question: Is Andre, the city lord’s son, Zorro’s biological son?”
Zhu Liuyue recalled the rumor from the information card.
She answered, “No.”
Xiao Wai: “Correct. You receive two magic crystals.”
Ye Yunjin shook his head helplessly. He turned to Xiao Qitang and said, “Andre, you’re telling me you’re not my biological son?”
Xiao Qitang was furious. “Get lost! Don’t go around claiming to be my dad.”
“Third question: What is the amnesiac traveler Ann searching for in the Forgotten Forest?”
“I know this one.” Zhao Wen buzzed in. “The treasure in the dragon’s underground lair.”
“Incorrect!”
Ye Yunche raised his hand. “Her family.”
“Correct. You receive two magic crystals.”
Everyone immediately turned to look at him.
No one had known about this piece of information.
Ye Yunche smugly waved his cards. “I drew one of Ann’s cards, and it said so right there. Heh heh heh.”
That round came to an end.
Ye Yunche had once again emerged as the biggest winner.
They had originally thought he was hopeless at the game, but he had somehow ended up with the most magic crystals.
The verification phase began.
Ye Yunche pointed at Tan Zhi.
“She belongs to the Demon King’s faction. What kind of person comes to the Forgotten Forest to search for relatives? She obviously isn’t a normal human.”
[Ann: She is not an orphan. Long, long ago, she became separated from her older brother. According to the rumors, the last place her brother was seen was deep within the Forgotten Forest.]
Tan Zhi shook her head innocently and looked at her best friend, Zhao Xin. “I’m a good person.”
The next second, Zhao Xin raised her hand and said, “I also accuse Ann.”
With that, she excitedly displayed her information card.
[Ann: A normal human who spends the night in the Forgotten Forest will be devoured by an unknown demon. Yet she survived and was brought out by the hunter John. Everyone says it was a miracle.]
Tan Zhi spread her hands helplessly. “Some best friend you are.”
Zhao Xin patted her on the shoulder, looking thrilled. “Bestie, don’t cry! Everything is for the victory of humanity and the heroes!”
Once again, the vote passed unanimously.
Tan Zhi: “I really was wrongfully killed.”
Xiao Wai: “There are no last words.”
Tan Zhi sobbed miserably. She still had three cards in her hand, but she couldn’t give them to the best friend who had just voted her out.
After thinking it over, she remembered that she and Liuyue had exchanged cards once.
Hee hee hee.
Since a little demon was stirring up trouble, she might as well make the heroes’ faction lose.
People tended to get excited when they did something bad, and Tan Zhi was positively exhilarated as she handed all her cards to Zhu Liuyue.
She silently went to sit beside the already eliminated Xiao Qitang.
“Brother Xiao, I’m here to be part of the background scenery with you.”
Xiao Qitang ground his teeth angrily. “Hmph. A bunch of stupid little brothers and sisters! Just wait until you lose.”
Tan Zhi paid no attention.
She was thinking to herself: I wanted the opposing faction to win in the first place.
Zhu Liuyue received the three cards. Besides one card about Ann herself, the other two belonged to different people.
[John: An honest and dependable hunter who is always quiet and taciturn. Everyone says John is someone worthy of trust.]
Well, this was at least a confirmed good-person card.
[Zorro: The greatest city lord in Alchemy City. Before he built the town, its residents were constantly harassed by the Demon King’s armies. But ever since he appeared, the city had become peaceful and tranquil.]
How was she supposed to interpret this card?
It described the city lord’s achievements, but the more Zhu Liuyue thought about it, the stranger it seemed.
She couldn’t help raising her head to glance at Ye Yunjin.
As it happened, Ye Yunjin’s gaze shifted toward her as well, and he gave her a gentle smile.
Zhu Liuyue was a dark elf, so of course she wanted the Demon King to win.
And this description of Zorro, the city lord, made him sound far too much like a hero. It was so obvious that, by contrast…
Zhu Liuyue suspected that he might actually belong to the Demon King’s faction too.
For now, she would count him as one of her own.
The third round was a puzzle game.
The players had to calculate the correct number from a series of irregularly arranged digits.
Ye Yunjin was extremely fast, answering almost immediately.
Ye Yunche followed close behind.
Xiao Wai handed them their magic crystals and said, “Congratulations. First place receives ten magic crystals, and second place receives five.”
Zhu Liuyue deliberately did not answer.
Instead, she quietly observed Zhu Qi, Zhao Wen, and Zhao Xin.
She could tell that Tan Zhi had belonged to the heroes’ faction and had been sent out. That bastard Xiao Qitang was most likely one of the Demon King’s people and had been played to death by Ye Yunche.
That left three heroes.
Which one of them were they?
“Ah! I figured it out!” Zhu Qi raised his hand excitedly.
Xiao Wai: “Congratulations. Third place receives one magic crystal.”
“Now, the top three players may each receive one important piece of plot information. You may reveal it publicly or keep it hidden.”
“Revealing it will make it easier for everyone to assess the situation on the field. Keeping it hidden will make you seem more deliberate, and you may be voted out in the next round.”
After receiving his plot information, Zhu Qi dutifully announced it.
[Important Information: It is said that deep within the Forest of Oblivion lies the Demon King's lair, and members of the Demon King's faction repeatedly enter the forest to report information to him.]
Ye Yunjin chose to keep the information hidden instead of making it public.
Ye Yunche, however, repeated it openly:
“Important information: After Oscar was awakened by the Little Gardener Alice, he decided to stay in Alchemy City to fulfill her wish.”
Offstage, Xiao Qitang shot to his feet and let out a disdainful snort. “You made that up!”
Zhu Liuyue: “Dead people should keep their mouths shut.”
Xiao Qitang: “...” My heart hurts so much.
I don't know whether everyone enjoys reading this part of the game.
If you do, I'll write it in more detail. If you don't, I'll skim over it.
Just a little rambling: Writing out all the information in these game segments really does drain my brain, so my typing speed has slowed down just a tiny bit.
