Song Xinya walked out of the break room and glanced toward Zhao Yinian's office.
The door that had habitually been tightly shut was now wide open.
It was empty inside—no one there.
Dong Dongdong came over holding an expense report, intending to get Zhao Yinian's signature, but stopped at the door.
"Ms. Zhao isn't in?"
Someone said, "No one's seen Ms. Zhao come in all day."
Chen Siyan, having finished his coffee, stepped out of the break room and overheard this. He said, "That's impossible. Zhao Yinian definitely came in today."
Dong Dongdong: "I got here early. I really haven't seen Ms. Zhao at all."
Another colleague: "I came in with Miss Dong. I can vouch for her."
Song Xinya: "Who opened the office door?"
Dong Dongdong: "Not us."
Male colleague: "No."
Song Xinya: "Isn't it obvious? Even if you two arrived early, someone got here earlier than both of you."
Chen Siyan: "Maybe Zhao Yinian got here early, did something bad, then left again to make it look like she never showed up."
Dong Dongdong: "What bad thing could Ms. Zhao have done?"
Chen Siyan and Song Xinya exchanged a glance and said nothing.
These were just their speculations—they had no solid proof that Zhao Yinian was behind everything that morning. If word got back to Zhao Yinian, she would turn it around and make a huge fuss.
Song Xinya sat back at her desk, picked up her phone, and ordered an identical card, asking the courier to deliver it.
When the courier reached the lobby on the first floor, she went down with a pen in hand.
Walking up to the courier, she took the card and wrote four words on it:
I want to f—k you.
She sealed the card and handed it to the courier: "Deliver this to Zhao Yinian on the 8th floor."
The courier looked troubled: "Miss, you placed the order, and the recipient on the waybill is you. Delivering it to someone else wouldn't be appropriate, would it?"
Song Xinya pulled out two red hundred-yuan bills: "Is it appropriate now?"
The courier grinned from ear to ear: "Appropriate, appropriate. Very appropriate."
He took the card and sprinted toward the security gate, with Song Xinya swiping her card to let him through.
An eye for an eye.
The courier arrived on the 8th floor, walked into the office, and saw a woman walking ahead of him.
"Excuse me, do you know Zhao Yinian?"
The woman turned around: "I'm Zhao Yinian."
Courier: "You've got a package."
Zhao Yinian: "What is it?"
Courier: "Something good. Something very good."
Zhao Yinian reached out: "Give it to me."
The courier handed the small bag containing the card to Zhao Yinian and turned to leave without a moment's hesitation.
He was afraid that if he lingered one second longer, he wouldn't get away.
Zhao Yinian looked at the beautifully crafted packaging, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. This little bag was so pretty—what kind of treasure was inside?
She reached in, pulled out the card, and unfolded it—
I want to f—k you.
"AHHHHHHHHH—" Zhao Yinian screamed with her mouth wide open.
Chen Siyan, ever eager to stir the pot, rushed over: "What's wrong, Ms. Zhao? You okay? Rabies acting up?"
He bent down and picked up the card Zhao Yinian had thrown on the floor: "Who's got such a heavy taste that they'd even take on a woman like you, Ms. Zhao?"
A colleague spoke up: "Isn't this card the same as the one Chen Siyan got?"
"Did it have the same words on it too?"
Chen Siyan: "Come over and see for yourselves."
The whole office rushed over in a swarm.
"Holy crap! Same words!"
Everyone turned in unison to stare at Zhao Yinian with mixed looks: curiosity, gossip, suspicion, and some sheer amusement.
"Bold choice of words, Ms. Zhao. Didn't know you knew such wild men?"
Zhao Yinian quickly denied it: "I don't know any man like that."
Chen Siyan: "If you don't know him, then why did he send you something like this?"
Zhao Yinian turned crimson with embarrassment: "How should I know?"
Chen Siyan added casually: "Where there's smoke, there's fire. Every effect has its cause. A thing has to rot from within before maggots appear."
Everyone let out a long, knowing "Oh," loaded with meaning.
Zhao Yinian shrieked, eyes wide with fury: "What do you all mean? Are you saying I have a messy private life? Don't you know that kind of gossip can ruin a woman's reputation?"
Song Xinya walked in from the doorway holding a cup of milk tea, leaning idly against the doorframe, sipping while enjoying the show.
So Zhao Yinian knew that being speculated about in this way could ruin a woman's reputation.
Back when Zhao Yinian had done this to her, she hadn't held back at all.
When hurting others, she wished they'd be chopped into a thousand pieces.
But when she got hurt herself, even a tiny scratch made her scream like mad.
She hasn't realized her mistake—she's just scared now.
Servés her right.
Within half an hour, news that Zhao Yinian had been sexually harassed spread throughout Qin Group.
Everyone had their own version of the story:
"Did you hear? Zhao Yinian on the 8th floor received a card that said 'I want to f—k you.'"
"Holy shit! That's wild!"
"She always seemed so proper, but you never know what people do behind closed doors."
"The face doesn't show the heart. If she didn't act recklessly, no one would do this to her."
"If you ask me, Zhao Yinian getting harassed can't be blamed on the man alone. She must have done something herself—if she weren't so loose with her behavior, why would any man target her?"
Everything Zhao Yinian had wanted to do to Song Xinya had now backfired on her.
Because Qin Yuhe was coming back that night, Song Xinya had taken the afternoon off to get the full body treatment at a beauty salon.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder—his abdominal wound had healed by now, and when they met, they would definitely make love.
She wanted a good experience for herself, and she wanted to give him one too.
She packed her things, slung her bag over her shoulder, and was about to leave when Zhao Yinian walked up to her desk.
"That card this morning—was that you?"
Song Xinya replied with a straight face: "Ms. Zhao, I have no idea what you're talking about."
Zhao Yinian: "Don't play dumb. You got the same card this morning too."
Song Xinya: "I didn't get one. Chen Siyan did."
Zhao Yinian said firmly: "You can fool others with that, but not me. That card was meant for you."
Song Xinya let out a cold laugh: "You weren't even in the office then. How do you know I received a card? So, Ms. Zhao, you're the one who swiped your card to let the courier in, aren't you?"
Zhao Yinian stood there, stunned and speechless.
Song Xinya: "Ms. Zhao, when you do bad things, remember to bring your brain along. Before anyone even has a chance to report you to the police, you've already exposed your own crimes. It's honestly laughable how stupid you are."
Song Xinya stared straight into Zhao Yinian's eyes: "How dare you come here pointing fingers? You deservе every bit of this."
She brushed past Zhao Yinian's shoulder and walked straight toward the door.
Zhao Yinian stumbled backward from the impact, staggering a few steps, his body swaying. He swallowed his broken teeth along with his pride and dared not pursue the matter further.
Song Xinya arrived at the beauty salon where Tiantianquan worked. “I want a full-body treatment that will make my skin instantly white and tender, smooth as a peeled hard-boiled egg, with not a single pore visible anywhere on my body.”
Tiantianquan: “Your husband’s coming home tonight, isn’t he?”
Song Xinya: “Did I ever tell you that?”
Tiantianquan: “Do I need to be told? Someone who never sets foot in a beauty salon suddenly shows up asking for a full-body treatment—who’s it for, if not your dear husband?”
“You’ve already got big breasts, a slim waist, and a plump rear end. Add a full-body treatment on top of that—my god, I can hardly imagine it. By the time your husband gets home, the battle in the bedroom between the two of you is going to be one hell of a fierce one.”
