Qin Yuhe walked towards Song Xinya, his fingers unbuttoning the collar of his shirt.
By the time he reached the edge of the bed, his collar was completely open, revealing a large expanse of his firm chest, his skin a cool, jade-like white.
The girl on the bed was sleeping soundly, her breathing as light as falling snow, even and soft.
Qin Yuhe's gaze swept from her cheek, down her slender neck, traced her delicate collarbones, passed over the rising snow-capped peaks, glanced past her tiny waist, and landed on her parted legs.
He leaned in close to her, his chest brushing past her full curves as he picked up the thin silk quilt from the inner side of the bed and draped it over her legs.
Qin Yuhe's movements were very gentle, not waking her.
He had come back today to pack a few sets of clothes to take with him.
Opening the wardrobe, Qin Yuhe saw that it was once again hung full of colorful little pennants.
Her bras.
Hadn't he already folded all her bras into neat little squares and placed them in the bottom drawer last time?
Why were they appearing in the wardrobe again?
Did the maid take them out again?
The brightly colored lingerie was hung among his meticulously arranged black, white, and gray clothes.
There was a purple bra without a hanger, simply draped over his black suit.
As someone with OCD, Qin Yuhe once again folded all of Song Xinya's bras into little squares and tucked them away in the bottom drawer.
He changed his clothes, draped two formal suits over his arm, and walked out of the room.
As he passed the table displaying pink and blue hydrangeas, his steps paused.
The laptop on the table was still on, emitting a cool white light.
On the screen was a search page.
The search query was: How many days to get a reply after interviewing at an education tech company under the Qin Group?
Qin Yuhe realized that the company Song Xinya had interviewed for yesterday belonged to the Qin Group.
.........
Qin Yuhe arrived at the Qin Group headquarters building, heading to his office on the 38th top floor.
The moment he sat down in his office chair, his assistant pushed the door open and came in.
"President Qin, President Zhao Yinian from the education tech company on the 8th floor says she has work to report to you."
Qin Yuhe: "I was just looking for her."
The assistant was slightly surprised: "Is it because of the matter regarding Little Princess Qin?"
Qin Yuhe had a younger sister who was seventeen this year and would be starting her senior year of high school after the summer break.
The original intention of the Qin Group opening an education tech company and recruiting a host of top-tier teachers was to serve Little Princess Qin and improve this little princess's academic performance.
However, this little princess was used to being spoiled. She looked harmless, but in reality, she was a terror who could anger three master teachers to the point of passing out within a minute.
No matter how incredible the teacher was, they would inevitably be driven away by her infuriating behavior in less than a day of teaching her.
There were two sayings circulating in the Qin family: Qin Yuhe was the Great Demon King whom everyone respected, and Little Princess Qin was the Little Devil who gave everyone a headache.
Little Princess Qin's academic performance went without saying; she sat firmly at number one in her class.
Number one from the bottom.
The Qin family had never produced a child with such poor grades, so they once suspected that this kid was the product of a genetic mutation.
In order to improve this Little Devil's grades, the whole family worried endlessly.
So when Qin Yuhe said he needed to see Zhao Yinian, the assistant immediately thought it was related to this Little Princess Qin.
Instead, he heard Qin Yuhe say, "No."
The assistant was momentarily puzzled. Then who was it related to?
With a little question mark floating above his head, the assistant walked outside and let Zhao Yinian in.
Zhao Yinian walked into the office with a coy expression, her voice very soft: "President Qin, I would like to report to you about Little Princess Qin's academic progress."
Qin Yuhe's expression was cold: "Right now, I am more concerned about another matter."
In the past, every time President Qin saw her, he would always ask about Little Princess Qin's grades first.
Why had that changed now?
What could be so important that it actually ranked ahead of President Qin's sister?
Zhao Yinian asked doubtfully, "What matter is President Qin concerned about?"
Qin Yuhe: "Are the results of the company's recruitment from yesterday out?"
Zhao Yinian: "Yes, they are out. Offers have already been sent to the successful candidates."
Qin Yuhe: "Is there a job seeker named Song Xinya?"
Zhao Yinian's heart skipped a beat. How did President Qin know that woman?
"Yes, there is."
Qin Yuhe: "What is the reason she wasn't hired?"
Naturally, Zhao Yinian wouldn't say that she was wary of Song Xinya's beauty, not wanting to hire a stunningly gorgeous woman who would overshadow her, make her look dull by comparison, and steal Qin Yuhe's attention.
"That job seeker named Song Xinya doesn't meet our requirements. She was only an A-level instructor at her previous company, and we are looking to hire gold-medal instructors."
Qin Yuhe: "Bring me the resumes of all the job seekers."
This meant he didn't trust what she was saying and intended to review them himself.
Zhao Yinian felt a surge of panic.
No matter how bold she was, she wouldn't dare tamper with the candidates' resumes. Bracing herself, she brought over all the resumes.
After Qin Yuhe skimmed through them one by one, his face turned grim. He tapped his finger heavily on Song Xinya's resume, the two thudding sounds echoing through the office.
"Song Xinya's performance ranks first among all the candidates, surpassing a bunch of so-called gold-medal instructors. Why did she fail the interview?"
Zhao Yinian made up an excuse: "Because she has no experience in online live-stream teaching."
Qin Yuhe: "Even without online live-stream teaching, her performance still ranks first. If she did teach via live stream, one can only imagine that her results would leave everyone in the dust and be even more outstanding. As a general manager, can you not see something so obvious?"
Zhao Yinian: "President Qin, I will contact Miss Song right now and tell her she passed the interview."
She hurriedly walked out, Qin Yuhe's frosty voice trailing behind her: "If this kind of thing happens again, you won't meet my requirements either. Be prepared to hand in your resignation letter."
Zhao Yinian shivered in fear.
.........
When Song Xinya woke up, she found a thin silk quilt draped over her legs.
Before going to sleep, she had only been wearing a nightgown, her legs bare.
She looked around the room but didn't see any sign of Qin Yuhe.
Did the maid cover her?
Song Xinya got out of bed, took off her nightgown, opened the wardrobe, and went to grab a bra.
She discovered that her bras were missing again.
Pulling open the bottom drawer, sure enough, she saw her ten bras all folded into little squares once again, arranged neatly in order from light to dark colors.
Was someone using her bras for military drills here?
It was confirmed: the Qin family maid had OCD.
Song Xinya once again took the ten bras out of the drawer, unfolded them, and hung them in the wardrobe.
She went down to the first floor, found the maid, and said earnestly, "Please don't fold my underwear into little squares and put them in the drawer anymore."
The maid was completely baffled. "Mrs. Qin, I've never folded your underwear."
Now Song Xinya was baffled. "Then who folded them?"
The maid: "Mrs. Qin, other than when I go in to clean, only you and Mr. Qin can enter your room."
Song Xinya realized that the person using her bras for military drills was Qin Yuhe!
It was actually him.
Why was he touching her bras for no reason?
Didn't he feel embarrassed?
She had never touched his underwear.
To prevent her bras from being folded into little squares for drills again, Song Xinya felt it was necessary to have a talk with Qin Yuhe about this matter when he got back.
While she was lost in thought, her phone rang. It was a landline number.
Song Xinya pressed the answer button, and a woman's voice came through.
"Song Xinya, this is Zhao Yinian, your interviewer from the third round yesterday. I'm calling to inform you that you've successfully passed the interview. Congratulations."
Song Xinya asked, "When do I start work?"
Zhao Yinian replied, "Whenever you want to. It's entirely up to you."
In stark contrast to her aggressive demeanor during the interview, Zhao Yinian was now speaking to Song Xinya in a very friendly and polite manner.
The injury on Song Xinya's foot hadn't fully healed yet, so she wanted to rest for another two days.
From now on, she would be working at the Qin Group's headquarters, which meant she inevitably would bump into Qin Yuhe.
Her husband was turning into her boss.
Song Xinya planned to wait for Qin Yuhe to return tonight to tell him about her upcoming employment at the Qin Group, and to discuss a few other things with him while she was at it.
...
At five o'clock in the afternoon, Qin Yuhe stood up from his office chair, grabbed his black suit jacket from the coat rack, casually draped it over his arm, and walked out.
The moment he opened his office door, Qin Yuhe saw Old Madam Qin.
"Grandma, what are you doing here?"
Old Madam Qin said, "I heard you're going on another business trip today?"
Qin Yuhe asked, "Who told you that?"
His assistant stood to the side, head bowed, not daring to speak.
Old Madam Qin loyally refrained from selling out the assistant. "Never mind who told me. I came here today for one thing: I want to meet your wife, the granddaughter-in-law I haven't had the chance to see yet."
Qin Yuhe replied, "Of course you'll meet her. But for a woman's first time meeting her husband's family, I want it to be a formal and grand occasion, not just a hasty get-together."
Old Madam Qin asked, "When are you bringing her back to the Qin family home?"
Qin Yuhe answered, "After I get back from my business trip."
Old Madam Qin struck his calf heavily with her walking stick. "What business trip? You are not allowed to go. Go home and spend some proper time with your wife!"
Qin Yuhe said, "We've already gotten our marriage certificate. We'll have plenty of time to be together in the future."
Old Madam Qin retorted, "The future is the future, and now is now. Don't use the future to brush off the present. Today is the day. Bring your wife back to the Qin family home for a formal meeting!"
Qin Yuhe sighed, "I haven't prepared anything yet."
Old Madam Qin declared, "You don't need to prepare anything. I've already had people take care of it. The Qin residence is decorated with lanterns and streamers, looking absolutely luxurious. Dinner is a full Manchu-Han Imperial Feast, just waiting to grace the presence of my granddaughter-in-law."
"If you don't agree..." The old lady thumped her walking stick on the ground. "I'll drag your grandfather over here, and we'll hang ourselves together right in your office!"
Let's see how you manage to work then!
Qin Yuhe's brow furrowed with helplessness; he was truly out of options against her fussing.
"I will bring my wife back to the Qin residence tonight."
Old Madam Qin instantly beamed with joy.
Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly thought of something. Her grandson was so busy with work—could it be that he hadn't even consummated the marriage with his wife yet?
After asking, sure enough, they hadn't consummated it.
Old Madam Qin grew extremely agitated. "Consummate it! The two of you must consummate the marriage tonight!"
