Nonsense, She’s No Jinx

Chapter 619

“If Father were like you, wouldn’t he become blind and deaf, unaware of everything going on?”

“As the saying goes, one trains soldiers for a thousand days to use them for a single moment.”

“This is precisely when their abilities are most needed!”

Xiao Yi earnestly instructed Duoduo.

Duoduo blinked and frankly admitted her mistake.

“Father, I was wrong!”

Xiao Yi nodded. “It’s good that you know your mistake and are willing to correct it.”

“Mm, I understand now.”

“Then I’ll think of a way to contact them.” After giving Xiao Yi a bow, Duoduo left the study.

Xiao Yi watched as Duoduo departed with her maid, a satisfied smile appearing on his face.

People simply couldn’t be allowed too much free time.

Otherwise, they would spend all day letting their thoughts run wild!

As he thought this, Xiao Yi casually picked up the teacup beside him and took a few sips.

He drank tea while looking over the official documents on the desk.

That evening, Xiao Yi had dinner in the study.

After eating, he rested briefly before sending Yunxiao and the guards away.

As usual, Xiao Yi began exercising.

Every day after meals, he practiced horse stance, performed a set of punches, and then did some physical training.

After exercising for such a long time, Xiao Yi felt that his physical strength had returned to its peak.

Even the wheelchair he sat in, which weighed a hundred or two hundred pounds, could now be lifted with ease.

Xiao Yi was doing push-ups on the floor using the method Li Jin had taught him when the door to the study suddenly opened from outside.

He hadn’t expected anyone to enter without knocking.

He was just about to reprimand them when he heard Su Xian’s voice.

“My lord, how did you fall?”

Then he heard Su Xian’s hurried footsteps as she ran toward him.

Xiao Yi sighed silently and relaxed his body, lying flat on the floor.

He had only himself to blame.

Su Xian ran over, grabbed Xiao Yi by the arm, and pulled him up with all her strength.

“Where have all those guards, including Yunxiao, gone?”

“When I came over, there wasn’t a single person outside!”

“This won’t do! They must be punished properly!”

Su Xian complained angrily as she struggled to help Xiao Yi up.

Xiao Yi pulled the wheelchair over and, with Su Xian’s assistance, sat down in it.

“I sent them away.”

Seeing Su Xian sweating profusely from the effort, Xiao Yi felt rather apologetic.

“Why did you come here? Is something the matter?”

Su Xian rarely came to the study to look for him of her own accord. If she had come, there must be a reason.

Su Xian froze for a moment before remembering why she was there.

“Oh, after dinner tonight, Duoduo drank some of this tea and said it was delicious.”

“She also said that Your Highness would surely like it.”

“So I brought some over for you to try.”

Xiao Yi didn’t quite understand the way women thought.

It was only a little tea. Was it really necessary for her to make the trip herself?

“Next time, just have a servant bring it over.”

“The weather is hot. If you keep going back and forth, you could easily suffer heatstroke.”

His mention of the hot weather reminded Su Xian of what Duoduo had said.

As she placed the tea leaves into the teapot, she began preparing the tea.

“My lord, I heard Duoduo say that Prince Rui is going to pray for blessings and ask for rain?”

Xiao Yi turned his head to look at Su Xian.

“Mm,” he replied.

“When His Majesty prayed for rain last time, it actually rained. If Fourth Prince also succeeds in praying for rain this time, won’t the officials…”

Su Xian left the rest unsaid.

The corner of Xiao Yi’s lips lifted slightly.

“That should be something for other people to worry about.”

Su Xian was stunned for a moment.

Just then, the water boiled. She lifted the teapot and poured it over the tea leaves.

As the boiling water filled the cups, the fragrant aroma of tea spread through the room.

Xiao Yi couldn’t help taking a deep breath.

“This tea smells quite good.”

Su Xian smiled. “Duoduo said the same thing.”

She picked up the freshly brewed tea and held it out to Xiao Yi.

“My lord, please try it.”

Xiao Yi reached out to take the cup, accidentally brushing against Su Xian’s hand.

A strange sensation made him pause.

He concealed his reaction as he accepted the teacup, blew on the tea, and took a sip.

As the hot tea entered his stomach, a wave of heat suddenly surged through his body.

The familiar sensation made Xiao Yi grit his back teeth.

Duoduo!

She had drugged him again!

He stared deeply at Su Xian. “Where did this tea come from?”

Seeing Xiao Yi’s unusual expression, Su Xian was somewhat bewildered.

She answered instinctively, “Duoduo gave it to me.”

After replying, she quickly added, “Duoduo said it was fine tea that Master Zhang had given her. She had never been willing to drink it.”

Xiao Yi felt the heat in his body rampaging wildly, searching for an outlet.

Worried that he might frighten Su Xian, he said, “Push me to the bed.”

Su Xian didn’t suspect anything and came forward to push the wheelchair.

“My lord, did you hurt yourself when you fell just now?”

“Mm, it hurts a little.” Xiao Yi followed her lead.

Su Xian immediately grew nervous.

“Shall I call a physician to examine you?”

“No need. In a moment, help me check whether I struck my abdomen.”

Su Xian helped Xiao Yi onto the bed. Once he was lying down, she lifted his robes.

She failed to notice the instant change in Xiao Yi’s eyes.

Su Xian placed her hand on his abdomen. “My lord, does it hurt here?”

“No.”

Su Xian moved her hand to the side. “What about here?”

Xiao Yi felt a delicate, boneless hand wandering over his body.

He suddenly caught hold of Su Xian’s hand.

The next moment, Su Xian felt the familiar world spin around her.

Xiao Yi pulled her onto the bed.

Su Xian looked up at Xiao Yi as he gazed down at her, and her face instantly flushed crimson.

As someone who had been married before, she understood perfectly what Xiao Yi meant.

She had wanted to hide away, but then she suddenly remembered what Duoduo had said.

“Mother, give me a little brother!”

At the thought, Su Xian suppressed her shyness and reached up to embrace Xiao Yi around the neck.

Xiao Yi’s eyes darkened. He understood what she meant.

“Are you sure?” Xiao Yi asked, a sliver of reason still remaining.

“Mm.” Su Xian let out a soft, coquettish hum.

“Do you know that Duoduo drugged me?” Xiao Yi simply stated it outright.

The hand Su Xian had wrapped around his neck stiffened.

“Then Your Highness should all the more not disappoint Duoduo’s good intentions.”

As she spoke, Su Xian closed her eyes and kissed Xiao Yi on the lips.

She clumsily followed what Xu Jinxin had taught her—first licking, then nibbling, before tentatively exploring further.

Xiao Yi froze for a moment. He had thought his wife had suddenly opened up, becoming this forward for the first time.

But the soft sensation against his lips caused the fire in his abdomen to flare at once.

All traces of Xiao Yi’s reason vanished in an instant.

Xiao Yi was a perfectly normal man to begin with, and with Duoduo’s drugged tea aiding him, he was even more vigorous than usual.

Su Xian cried and begged for mercy, but to no avail.

Perhaps because of the conditioning Duoduo had given her, Su Xian did not faint.

The two of them finally experienced the bliss of intimacy for the first time.

“My lord, shall we have a child?”
