Liu Chunlan was knocked to the ground, shards of glass piercing her palms.
She screamed at the top of her lungs:
"Ahhhh! Lin Wanyi, you've got some nerve, you really have some nerve!
"Juan'er, look at my hand, it's covered in blood!"
Wang Meijuan turned pale with fright. She wanted to pull Liu Chunlan up but shrank back when she saw the glass shards.

Liu Chunlan grimaced in pain, and Wang Meijuan joined in to scold Lin Wanyi:
"No matter what, she is your elder. Lin Wanyi, you are simply rebellious and unfilial.
"Kneel down and apologize to my mom right now, or I'll call Wang Hao immediately. Let's see how he deals with you!"
Lin Wanyi beat her to it and called Wang Hao herself:

Wang Hao looked at her and then at Lin Wanyi. Before he could even open his mouth, Lin Wanyi said:

The words Wang Hao had meant to use to question her were swallowed back down his throat:
"What are you talking about? Wanyi, do you think I don't know what kind of person you are?
"You have the softest nature and the best temper. How could you possibly stab glass into my mom's hand on purpose?
"I believe you. My mom must have done it to herself by accident."
"Wang Hao!"
Liu Chunlan's eyes widened in disbelief. "I told you she shoved them into me! Your sister was right here the whole time, she saw it perfectly clearly. If you don't believe me, ask her."
Wang Hao didn't speak, but Wang Meijuan loudly volunteered:
"That's right, Haozi. I can testify. It was really Lin Wanyi who smashed the glass on the floor and then pushed Mom onto the shards to make her like this.
"Mom isn't falsely accusing her."
Wang Hao acted as if he couldn't hear her. He looked at Wang Meijuan:

Zhang Cuihua from next door was the first to come over, holding her rice bowl.

Zhang Cuihua, who had been enjoying her meal, suddenly felt her food lose all its flavor.
She slammed her bowl down on the wall and turned, ready to lunge at Liu Chunlan.
Her husband, Wang Guoqing, hurriedly held her back:

"She is a cheap tramp from out of town, and she is supposed to give my family grandsons! What did I say wrong?"
Zhang Cuihua's daughter-in-law, Wu Qin, suddenly spoke up:
"Auntie Liu, that's not right of you to say.
"Wanyi just married far away from home, she was just tricked by Wang Hao. She hasn't done anything wrong.
"All these years, the daughters-in-law in our village have been watching. She has been bullied terribly by you!"
