Wang Tianwei was completely dumbfounded after hearing that two teams from her military academy had been eliminated one after another.
...
The Qingsong Military Academy squad, who had just been eliminated by them, burst into wild laughter upon hearing the news.
Hahahaha, you only have two teams left!!
Serves you right! You won't last long either after eliminating us!
The students from Qingsong Military Academy instantly felt the frustration in their chests dissipate! What else was there to say?
We'll be waiting for you back home!
Following their demands, they dropped their water, food, and paintballs, and were about to leave with the safety instructor.
...Wait, Huang Yan suddenly spoke up. Leave your school uniforms behind too.
...Are you serious?
Don't go too far, Qilin!!!
But no matter how angry the Qingsong students were, rules were rules, and the safety instructor clearly wasn't on their side...
They were urged to change into a different set of clothes before leaving with scowls on their faces!
Those guys actually said that if they didn't take them off, they would strip them forcefully!?
How were they like students!? More like space pirates!
Huang Yan distributed the four uniforms to everyone, and Wang Tianwei immediately expressed her regret,
Ah, what a pity! We didn't strip the uniforms off those guys from Valk! Their uniforms were dark green!
The barrage of comments immediately increased by a few lines.
Huang Yan, you're shameless!!!
Wang Tianwei is despicable and shameless! A sinister villain!!
Oh~ You guys show up as soon as you're mentioned!? You must be from Valk!
So triggered. Let me guess, Quincy, you got your optical computer back!?
Hahahaha! Did you know your video has gone viral!? The one on the front page of the league forum titled Valk's Confident Acting Leads to Counter-Kill!
Since you're here, we're friends~ Stay and watch Qilin's wild moves!
Look, they were actually quite nice to you! They didn't even strip your clothes!
Hahaha! Hahaha!
...I am absolutely irreconcilable with Qilin!!!
Although they had obtained the Qingsong uniforms, the members of Huang Yan's squad remained silent afterward.
Zhou Yu's squad and Senior Sister Ruan Yi's squad had both been eliminated...
The squads with Qilin's only two S-rank commanders, not to mention a strong firepower specialist like Feng Yi!
Although their school didn't designate any team as the absolute main force, in their minds, these two teams should have at least lasted until the later rounds of the mecha tournament...
Now Qilin Military Academy's total points were back to one hundred.
Another squad led by Senior Brother Li Hece seemed to have been attacked by star beasts early this morning. No matter how you looked at it, the situation was not optimistic...
It's not dark yet. Officer Huang, are there any star beasts nearby?
Wang Tianwei was the first to speak.
What else could they do? Roll up their sleeves and work hard!
They were already here! They couldn't be scared out of their wits just because two teams from their school had been eliminated!
At the very least, they had to survive until the second round to take a good look at and experience the mechas from other schools, right!?
At 11 o'clock, one star beast. Once we get the points, we'll find a place to camp.
Yes!
Chao Hao and Fu Manli personally received the two listless squads.
Sorry... Teachers, we disappointed you.
...Sorry.
Zhou Yu and Ruan Yi looked full of self-blame, and the other six were also crestfallen.
Chao Hao glanced at the students.
Just because you got eliminated, your bones have gone soft? Straighten your backs.
The eight of them reflexively puffed out their chests and raised their heads.
You only lost once. Are you all pulling long faces, getting ready to go back to your dorms and hide under the covers to cry?
No!
Fu Manli stepped in front of them.
Luck is also very important in this kind of competition. The two teams you ran into were the main forces of the First Military Academy and Santorini... Do you now know the gap between yourselves and them?
...Yes.
Ruan Yi couldn't help but think of Elizabeth's mental attack that allowed her to fight one against four... Fu Manli saw this and patted her shoulder.
Don't overthink it. The Paige family has served in the Fifth Military Region for generations. Their family exclusively produces commanders, and every generation is famous for their highly aggressive mental power. Ordinary people could never reach their level no matter how hard they train.
Back in the day, when she went to support the Fifth Military Region, she was shocked by their skills! She secretly practiced for a long time before the Admiral found out and warned her...
...I'm still not strong enough. I also lost to them in the previous shooting competition.
Fu Manli did not refute.
In fact, whether on the battlefield or in this kind of public contest, there is always only one reason for failure for a soldier—not being strong enough.
It was good that they could realize this early on.
When a person can stop making excuses for themselves, that is the true beginning of becoming stronger. This trip wasn't in vain.
Zhou Yu, however, was more open-minded about it.
Teacher, I want to go watch the replays and summarize some useful things. When the juniors finish their competition, maybe they can use it in the next match!
Chao Hao nodded.
Go! Take the opportunity to see where your shortcomings lie. Then you'll know in which direction to put your efforts in the future!
Yes!
If I find out anyone is secretly crying under their covers tonight, don't blame me for posting it on the forum! Everyone is welcome to report.
...Teacher, we won't.
"Professor... your methods are getting more and more like Junior Tianwei and her team's..."
Chao Hao couldn't resist kicking Feng Yi in the backside.
"You brat! If anyone is copying anyone, they are the ones copying me!"
The two eliminated teams couldn't wait to return to their dormitories to wash up. They changed into clean clothes and hurried to gather in the meeting room before they even had time to treat their injuries.
Ruan Yi's squad was relatively fine, having only suffered mental attacks. Elizabeth had held back, so they just needed to sip on pouches of nutrient fluid and slowly recover.
On Zhou Yu's side, however, everyone had gone through a brutal hand-to-hand brawl. They were covered in bruises, with Feng Yi having it the worst. He had large abrasions on his elbows and the outer sides of his thighs; the pain had him sharply drawing in breaths the entire time he was showering.
"Hiss..."
The moment Zhou Yu sat down, he began rubbing his bruised knee.
"Sigh... The First Military Academy is incredibly strong. Their mecha engineers didn't even have to make a move..."
Ruan Yi looked up listlessly.
"You guys are so badly beaten up. Aren't you going to lie in the medical pods for a while first?"
"We'll go later!"
"Captain, Li Hece and his team aren't doing too well either..."
Feng Yi first checked the status of the two squads that were still in the rainforest.
Huang Yan's side was doing alright. They were currently far away from the First Military Academy, no one had sustained major injuries, and their mental states seemed decent.
However, everyone on Li Hece's team looked thoroughly exhausted.
Their assaulter, Zhao Ling, seemed to have been bitten by something. His wrist was wrapped in bandages but was still visibly swollen.
"Don't jinx it! The other military academies are actually in similar situations!"
"Exactly! We've faced harder scenarios than this during regular training. They probably just didn't get enough rest last night... Let me check the replay!"
"Feng Yi, you're pretty good! You actually held out until Fu Xingyuan showed up before going down?"
"Heh, Wu Pingzhuo was the one who suggested we fight a round first. In truth, I was on the verge of losing anyway..."
"It's fine! We'll just train harder when we get back! I don't plan on resting during the holidays either. We'll come back stronger next time!"
