After the Assistant Became Beautiful, She Stole the Big Star’s Sugar Daddy

Chapter 256

Su Qianqian woke up the next day, looked at the man beside her, and recalled the sparks that had flown the night before, instantly feeling both embarrassed and annoyed.

She had been bewitched by him again! What happened to the agreed-upon breakup and cooling-off period?

So, when Gu Chengyu woke up, he was faced with a Su Qianqian wrapped in the blanket, her cheeks puffed out, glaring at him with those dewy almond-shaped eyes.

"Qianqian..." His voice was husky from sleep as he reached out to pull her close.

"Don't touch me!" Su Qianqian reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, swatting his hand away. Her voice was clear and crisp, laced with obvious anger. "Gu Chengyu, you went back on your word! We agreed to cool off! You jerk!"

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She grabbed the pillow beside her and threw it at him.

Gu Chengyu caught the pillow. Seeing her so animated, instead of getting angry, he felt a tickle in his heart, a pleasant itch.

He loved her like this—vivid and full of life.

"Alright, I'm a jerk," he readily admitted his fault, though the corners of his mouth couldn't help but twitch upward. "Then let me make it up to you now, I'll accompany you..."

"Not needed!" Su Qianqian continued to glare at him. In her eyes right now, he was nothing but a scoundrel who took advantage of the situation. "I don't want to see you right now! Get out!"

In the end, Gu Chengyu couldn't win against her and left the master bedroom with a look of regret.

And so, the young master Gu Chengyu began his career of getting the cold shoulder.

His phone calls were answered by the young lady at a leisurely pace. After just a few words, she'd say she had lines to memorize and hang up directly.

His messages received replies after long intervals, brief and perfunctory.

Wanted to visit her on set? No such luck. Su Qianqian forbade him from going, so he could only steal a few glances from afar.

Clearly, she was giving him the cold shoulder again, showing no intention of reconciling.

But strangely, although Gu Chengyu was still displeased this time, his heart didn't feel as hollow and panicky as it had last month.

Because he keenly sensed that this cold treatment was different from before.

The previous Su Qianqian had genuinely wanted to push him away, with detachment and politeness.

This time, however, her anger carried a hint of coquettishness, her refusals tinged with pique. It felt more like the petty grievances of a couple having a tiff.

When she glared at him, there was a light in her eyes, even a hint of taking his doting for granted.

Like now. He had calculated that she would finish work early today. Carrying a small cake from her favorite dessert shop, he brazenly used his face as a pass to enter the apartment directly.

Su Qianqian was curled up on the sofa watching a movie, a cushion hugged to her chest.

Seeing him come in, she just gave him a lazy glance, let out a soft "hmph" through her nose, turned her head away, and continued watching the movie, completely treating him as air.

Gu Chengyu placed the cake on the coffee table and leaned in to kiss her, only to have his face pushed away disdainfully by her hand.

"Qianqian, still angry?" He lingered by her side, his arm loosely encircling her, not daring to hold her tight for fear of setting her off again.

"Who's angry? Why would I be angry with you?" Su Qianqian kept her eyes on the screen, her tone stiff, but her slightly pouted lips betrayed her true feelings.

Gu Chengyu chuckled softly, hooking a finger around a strand of her hair that had fallen across her chest. "Then I'll watch the movie with you?"

"No, you're disturbing me here." She still didn't look at him, but she didn't forcefully tell him to leave either.

Looking at her fair profile, the last bit of uncertainty in Gu Chengyu's heart vanished completely.

He knew.

This young lady didn't have no place for him in her heart at all.

She was just in a sulk, using this method to express her dissatisfaction with his past behavior.

Once she vented these emotions, wouldn't they be able to reconcile?

This realization made Gu Chengyu feel utterly at ease. He even felt willing to endure this period of being shut out.

He stopped insisting on getting closer, just sitting quietly beside her, occasionally offering her a piece of fruit. If she was in a good mood, she would even open her mouth to accept it.

Although most of the time, he was still met with her ignoring him and her little tantrums.

Gu Chengyu found it all sweetly endurable.

He knew he was almost winning.

He just needed a little more patience, waiting for her to get this resentment out of her system.

What excuse should he find to see her tomorrow?
