Ma Da took the chest protector handed to him by Zhao Tianyi, pinched and tugged at it to test the material, then waved at his underling: "Put it on him."
The underling swiftly strapped the chest protector onto Crazy Dog Brother.
"We still haven’t settled last time’s debt, and now you’ve delivered yourself to us," Ma Da sneered as he stepped closer to Crazy Dog Brother.
Though nervous, Crazy Dog Brother kept his tough-guy act: "If you dare hit me—"
Before he could finish, Ma Da threw a punch: "Hyaa!"
Crazy Dog Brother instinctively tensed up, bracing for pain—but when the fist landed, he froze.
Huh… that didn’t hurt much?
Just a dull ache and slight soreness, totally bearable.
This chest protector’s actually pretty good.
He suddenly felt guilty for misjudging Zhao Tianyi, the lawyer.
Ma Da frowned at Crazy Dog Brother’s reaction and turned to Zhao Tianyi. "What’s going on?"
Zhao Tianyi adjusted his glasses and calmly explained, "The chest protector might be too thick—it absorbed most of the impact. We’ll need to order thinner ones."
Before Ma Da could respond, Yun Cheng stood up and walked over.
"My turn."
He’d been itching to teach this guy a lesson.
Last time, Liu Yutong almost got into trouble because of him at the KTV.
Seeing Yun Cheng approach, Crazy Dog Brother smirked defiantly. "Go ahead, hit me! If I make a sound, I’ll call you grandpa!"
After Ma Da’s punch, he trusted the chest protector completely.
Unless these guys shamelessly took it off, he was sure he could handle it.
"Hit me! Come on, hit me—"
Yun Cheng didn’t waste words. He channeled all his strength and slammed his fist into the chest protector.
BANG!
The impact sounded like an explosion, shaking the entire hall.
Crazy Dog Brother’s taunt cut off mid-sentence. He doubled over, his face turning from red to purple, trembling as he pointed at Yun Cheng. "You… you freaking monster!"
It felt like a truck had rammed into his chest.
If two men hadn’t been holding him up, he’d have flown ten meters back.
Yun Cheng didn’t give him time to recover. He raised his fist again.
Crazy Dog Brother’s bravado shattered. "Wait—Grandpa, wait!" he begged, voice cracking.
Yun Cheng ignored him and struck again.
BANG!
Crazy Dog Brother’s stomach lurched violently, bile surging up his throat.
Ma Da reacted fast, grabbing a steel basin and slamming it over Crazy Dog Brother’s head.
BLARGH—
The vomit splattered inside the basin, sparing the floor.
Then, Crazy Dog Brother collapsed, too weak to stand, curled up and whimpering.
Everyone stared at Yun Cheng like he was some kind of inhuman beast.
What kind of freakish power was this? Two punches, and the guy was puking his guts out—even with a chest protector!
"Ma Da, you need to lose weight," Yun Cheng remarked casually before returning to Liu Yutong’s side.
Ma Da chuckled awkwardly, scratching his head, then crouched beside Crazy Dog Brother, pinching his nose. "Ready to pay up now?"
"Er Kun said you sent him here to eat, then tipped off the Righteous Union to target Sister Yutong. Anything to say?"
Despite being a wreck, Crazy Dog Brother clung to denial. "Lies! I want a confrontation!"
Er Kun, furious, jabbed a finger at him. "Crazy Dog, you told me to go to Bright Pearl City and contact Scarface Brother from the Righteous Union! Don’t back out now!"
Crazy Dog Brother, pale but stubborn, snapped, "Proof? Let Scarface Brother face me!"
"Where is he?"
"In the pot."
Crazy Dog Brother: "…???"
The… pot?
What the hell?
The Righteous Union thugs kneeling nearby smirked, their eyes taunting: You’re next.
Especially with Yun Cheng looking like he wanted to skin Crazy Dog Brother alive.
Just then, loud THWACKS echoed from the kitchen—chopping sounds that made Crazy Dog Brother’s heart pound.
Trembling, he asked Er Kun, "What’s… happening in there?"
Er Kun sneered. "Scarface Brother’s inside. What do you think? You think they’re cooking you a feast?"
Realization hit. Crazy Dog Brother nearly vomited again, dropping to his knees. "Grandpa, I was wrong! I’ll pay! I’ll pay!"
He thought his boss was ruthless—drowning or burying enemies. But these people? They treated them like livestock.
Ma Da nodded to Zhao Tianyi. "Hand him the bill."
Zhao Tianyi pulled out an invoice and passed it to Crazy Dog Brother.
Even prepared, the number stunned him.
"Fifty… fifty grand?!"
For one meal?!
This was worse than his loan-sharking business!
"You might as well rob me!" he blurted.
"Wrong. This is better than robbery."
"But—I don’t have that much!"
"Pay what you can. If not, trade something else," Ma Da whispered, following Liu Yutong’s instructions.
Crazy Dog Brother paled further. "No way! My boss will kill me!"
"No deal?" Ma Da smirked and waved. "Drag him to the kitchen."
Two underlings seized Crazy Dog Brother.
Terrified, he wailed, "I’ll talk! I’ll talk!"
"Should’ve cooperated earlier," Ma Da said, patting his shoulder. "Don’t worry, we’re fair. Your secret’s safe with us… and the hundred-plus guys here."
He glanced meaningfully at the crowd.
Crazy Dog Brother: "…"
"Promise my boss won’t find out. And guarantee my safety," he bargained desperately.
"Deal," Liu Yutong cut in.
"We’ll send you somewhere very safe. No one will touch you."
Crazy Dog Brother finally exhaled in relief.
He knew that among this group, the only one he could really talk to was the girl he had once harbored ill intentions toward.
Since she had given her word, he no longer had any reservations.
Soon after, Liu Yutong waved her hand, signaling Ma Da and a few others to take Crazy Dog Brother to a private room for interrogation.
No sooner had they dealt with Crazy Dog Brother’s situation than the main door was knocked on again.
A cautious voice came from outside: "The sky king covers the earth tiger?"
Hearing this, Liu Yutong turned to look at Er Kun.
Er Kun immediately caught on and shouted back, "You’re a two-hundred-and-fifty!"
Outside.
Upon hearing the coded response, Deng Zheyan didn’t feel reassured—instead, his guard went up even higher.
Something’s wrong! There’s trouble here!
He was just about to turn and flee when suddenly, the door swung open. Several hands reached out, yanking him inside: "Get in here, you!"
