Yun Cheng had initially mistaken Liu Yutong for someone else because her features bore some resemblance to the little girl in the photograph.
But the short-haired policewoman standing before him now looked like an exact replica.
If Liu Yutong was 60-70% similar, then Gao Min was a 90% match.
What’s more, with the two of them standing in the same place, they even seemed to share some uncanny similarities.
Suddenly, a bold speculation flashed through Yun Cheng’s mind—could the young miss and Gao Min actually be related?
But then again, the world was vast, and lookalikes were hardly rare.
Besides, he knew Liu Yutong’s background well enough to dismiss it as pure coincidence.
Liu Yutong’s expression darkened after hearing Li Xiaohui’s words.
Whether out of camaraderie or a desire to stay on good terms with Li Xiaohui, she couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
Gao Min, who had been focused on the gang of troublemakers, finally noticed the girl who seemed to carry an air of importance. Without overthinking it, she urged anxiously, "Get out of here! These aren’t people you can handle."
Instead of being frightened, Li Xiaohui eagerly turned to Liu Yutong and asked, "Sister Yutong, did you bring backup?"
She even craned her neck to peek behind Liu Yutong, searching for the hidden figures in black.
She had seen the sheer spectacle of those black-clad men before—if she had to describe it, they were downright explosive in their coolness!
Yu Fei sneered at this. "What, calling for reinforcements? Let me tell you, it won’t help. Cross me, and—"
Before he could finish, the roar of engines drowned out his words as a fleet of black vehicles sped into view.
Liu Yutong calmly announced, "They’re here."
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A series of car doors swung open.
In the next moment, a dense crowd of black-clad young men poured out, forming neat ranks behind Liu Yutong before greeting her in unison.
"Young Miss!"
"Young Miss!"
"............"
Their presence was overwhelming, striking awe into everyone present.
Li Xiaohui trembled with excitement as she took in the sight of the black fleet and its occupants once more.
So cool!
So freaking cool!!! So majestic!!!
This was the kind of underworld she wanted to be part of!!!
At this moment, she completely forgot her earlier vow to leave that life behind.
Even if there were witnesses, she’d just claim they misheard.
Yu Fei and his gang were dumbstruck by the sudden appearance of so many black-clad figures.
They hadn’t even flinched when the girl threatened to call the police, but now, an inexplicable fear gripped them, their legs shaking uncontrollably.
Sixty-some men in black stood silently under the night sky, their oppressive aura making it hard to breathe.
They were all part of the underworld, but the difference between them was stark—like a pack of stray dogs facing down a true wolf pack.
"W-which faction do you belong to...?" Yu Fei forced a smile. "This is all a misunderstanding! Yu Long Lakeside International Hotel—ever heard of it? My family owns it! How about I treat you all to a meal there someday—"
"Young Miss!" Yun Cheng suddenly spoke up, unable to hold back. Laying a hand on the boss’s daughter was a death sentence!
Though his loyalty now belonged solely to Liu Yutong, that didn’t mean he’d ignore these thugs surrounding his former boss’s daughter.
This time, Liu Yutong didn’t stop him, nor did she order her men to record the scene—after all, there were witnesses present, one of whom was a police officer.
"Begin."
Upon hearing the young mistress's words, Yun Cheng immediately pulled out his expandable baton, flicking it open with a sharp whoosh.
The other sixty-plus thugs also drew their batons in unison, the synchronized motion sending a chilling wave of intimidation through the air.
Some of Yu Fei’s lackeys were so terrified they dropped their steel pipes, the metallic clang echoing as they hit the ground.
"Call for backup! Get Tianyan here now!"
One of the underlings immediately dialed Liu Hao’s number.
As soon as the call connected, Yu Fei shouted, "Tianyan, I’m surrounded at the Internet Café Street park! Get here now!"
On the other end, Liu Hao sounded utterly unbothered, replying lazily, "Young Master Yu, hang in there. I’m in the middle of something critical. Give me a sec."
Yu Fei knew full well he was stalling, but there was no time to argue. He resorted to the one language that always worked: money. "Thirty grand! Bring your boys here to save me, and I’ll treat everyone to a midnight feast!"
Liu Hao’s tone instantly shifted. He sprang to his feet, eyes gleaming. "Young Master Yu, no need to be so formal! On Internet Café Street, no one gets things done like I do. I’ll be right there!"
"Hurry the hell up!" Yu Fei snapped.
"Two minutes, tops!"
Liu Hao happened to be gaming with his crew at a nearby internet café, just minutes away from the park.
Hearing this, Yu Fei exhaled slightly in relief and turned to his trembling lackeys. "Hold on, boys! Backup’s coming in two minutes. If we can just last—"
Before he could finish, the cold-eyed man standing beside Liu Yutong charged forward alone.
What followed was a scene straight out of a nightmare.
The first five or six thugs didn’t even stand a chance—each was knocked down with a single strike of his baton, collapsing like dominoes.
The rest fell just as quickly under the coordinated assault of the black-clad enforcers.
The entire ordeal lasted less than thirty seconds.
Yu Fei barely had time to react before a searing pain exploded in his jaw. The man’s fist connected with brutal force, sending two teeth flying as Yu Fei crumpled to his knees, blood streaming down his face.
The spoiled rich kid, who had spent his life bullying the weak, now groveled on the ground, begging for mercy. "I was wrong! Please, spare me!" This was the first time he’d ever been beaten so savagely.
Surrounded by the black-clad figures, all his arrogance evaporated. He kowtowed frantically, praying they’d let him go.
Liu Yutong watched his pathetic display with disgust. She despised people like him—all bravado when dishing out cruelty, but spineless when the tables turned.
Li Xiaohui stared at the man who had moved like a war god, utterly awestruck. She’d thought the girl who saved her was impressive, but this guy was on another level entirely.
A sudden memory flashed in her mind—she’d once mouthed off to him. A shiver of guilt ran down her spine.
"Forgive the ignorant, forgive the ignorant," she muttered under her breath.
