Fu Shiyi adjusted his glasses. “I'm afraid this is something your adjutants will have to decide.”
Qin Mo added, “You two should head back first. I'll speak with the two adjutants.”
Both of them knew what the guard detail represented, so before Yunyang or You Lu could say anything, they cut off the two pilots.
The pilots had meant well, but both were only A-rank ability users and had no qualifications to join the guard detail.
T01 Star was the most dangerous planet in the Federation. If Commander Lei Ou had not promised to send an all-S-rank ability-user guard detail, they never would have allowed the females to come.
The two pilots were a little disappointed, but they also knew they had been asking for too much and did not bring it up again.
Only then did the group of beastmen escort the two females off the spacecraft.
Once they were outside the hatch, Yunyang tugged on Qin Mo's sleeve and asked in a low voice, “What's a guard detail?”
Qin Mo was just about to answer when, from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a number of excited faces.
The two adjutants of the First Army—the “weapons” who could slaughter insectoids until their hands went numb on the battlefield—were hurrying toward them now, with none of their usual sternness.
Although they held equivalent ranks, Qin Mo still silently saluted when facing his seniors from the First Army.
Pan En and Morris did not even spare him a glance.
They stopped in front of Yunyang and You Lu, maintaining a completely safe distance, and bowed to them.
“On behalf of all Federation forces stationed on T01 Star, welcome, Your Excellencies.”
Around the perimeter of the spacecraft's landing zone, the First Army personnel who had been waiting there for who knew how long also bowed in unison.
Even though the First Army had suffered constant losses, it was still the largest of all the Federation's military forces.
The sight was nothing short of spectacular.
Yunyang was already able to remain calm in the face of such scenes. “Adjutant Pan En, Adjutant Morrison, thank you for waiting.”
Before they had set out, Qin Mo had already introduced her to the First Army's key personnel.
Aside from Commander Lei Ou, the First Army had two adjutants and five executive officers. These were the principal people she would be interacting with over the coming period.
As for the various squad leaders and the like, she did not need to remember every one of them.
“It is our honor.” Pan En smiled with an expression of fatherly kindness. “Your Excellencies, it's getting late. Allow me to take you to your quarters first. Tomorrow, I'll arrange for you to meet the members of your guard details.”
Luo Yan looked as though he had seen a ghost.
When had Adjutant Pan En ever been so kind and amiable?
Yunyang and You Lu had no objections. With their beastmen husbands with them, their safety for one night could still be guaranteed.
Their quarters were next to each other.
However, since they were staying at the First Army's base, the accommodations obviously could not compare with their villas in terms of comfort. Fortunately, the rooms were spacious and equipped with the highest-level security systems.
If anyone attempted to force their way into either female's quarters, the security shield would activate immediately. It could withstand attacks from ability users below the SSS rank and insectoid soldiers below the ninth level.
In addition, the security system was connected to the optical brains of every member of the First Army.
In other words, the moment anyone—or any insectoid—dared to attack the security shield, every optical brain on T01 would sound an alarm—
except those belonging to the two females and their beastmen husbands.
For two precious S-rank Excellencies, the First Army had provided the highest level of protection.
Before entering the quarters, Fu Shiyi's glasses had already scanned all of this.
But he said nothing.
This was simply what the First Army was supposed to do. It was not worth making a show of.
Although You Lu had spent the entire journey sitting comfortably aboard the spacecraft, she still felt somewhat tired. Yawning, she said to Yunyang, “Yangyang, I'm going to rest first.”
“Okay.”
After You Lu led her eleven beastmen husbands into the neighboring room, Yunyang also entered her quarters with her five husbands.
On their first night on T01 Star, the five husbands did not make any demands of her.
After seeing Yunyang to bed, Qin Mo told the other four rivals to guard her while he left for Adjutant Pan En's quarters.
Pan En had been arranging matters concerning the guard detail. The moment he saw Qin Mo, however, he immediately set everything aside and greeted him with a smile.
“Little Qin, does Your Excellency Yunyang need anything?”
Qin Mo shook his head. “Adjutant Pan En, during JF-129's final jump, it encountered an insectoid patrol.”
“I already know about that.”
At the mention of it, Pan En's expression turned solemn.
“I know what you're worried about, but rest assured. I've already chosen the members of the guard detail. Their files are here.”
The insectoids were not fools. If they discovered that two Excellencies had arrived on T01 Star, they would certainly take countermeasures.
Pan En understood that Qin Mo had come because he was worried the two Excellencies might be harmed.
Especially his female, Your Excellency Yunyang.
Qin Mo picked up the files on the guard detail and examined them carefully.
Just as Commander Lei Ou had promised, each guard detail had no fewer than ten members, and all of them were at least S-rank ability users.
Even the First Army's few SS-rank ability users had been divided between the two guard details, with two assigned to each.
Qin Mo put the files down. “Adjutant Pan En, are there any reserve members for the guard details?”
“Of course.” Pan En patted him on the shoulder. “Don't worry. The reserve members are all S-rank ability users as well. We take the safety of the two Excellencies every bit as seriously as you do.”
The two Excellencies were treasures of the Federation and the ray of hope the First Army had managed to welcome with such difficulty.
Just as the commander had promised before, they would protect the two Excellencies with their lives.
Qin Mo knew the First Army's strength very well, but he still could not bring himself to relax completely.
T01 Star was simply too dangerous.
At the same time, if T01 Star fell, the entire Federation would be in danger.
After thinking for a moment, Qin Mo asked, “Adjutant Pan En, can I exchange my military merits for high-level insectoid cores here?”
“Little Qin, you know how things are.” A smile appeared on Pan En's face. “On T01 Star, we lack everything except high-level insectoid cores.”
“Forget exchanging military merits for them. We could give them to you for free.”

Early the next morning, the guard details were already waiting outside the two females' quarters.
Most of these S-rank ability users were over thirty years old, while the only two SS-rank ability users were over fifty.
For beastmen, however, that was still the prime of their lives.
There were also one or two members who were under thirty and fairly good-looking.
The five husbands did not get jealous for once.
They could afford to be jealous aboard the spacecraft, but here, nothing mattered more than their female's safety.
Rong Jin was especially generous, handing each of them several bags of nutrient supplements.
He had brought plenty, so he did not mind.
Yunyang only met the members of the guard detail after breakfast.
To prevent anyone with ulterior motives from impersonating them, Qin Mo had uploaded the guard members' photographs to the optical brains of Yunyang and the other husbands first thing that morning. Thus, Yunyang was just barely able to match their faces to their names.
She looked toward the SS-rank ability user. “Mr. Feir, please take me to meet Commander Lei Ou.”
Commander Lei Ou had just returned to the base that morning.
As for the purification work, she needed to examine the First Army members' data before making arrangements. For that, she would naturally have to speak with Commander Lei Ou.
