Top Road Survival Influencer Says She Will Walk to the End of the Highway

Chapter 8

Player1212: "And this is a black spatial stone that can expand storage space! Isn’t it fair for me to ask for some extra supplies? My request isn’t unreasonable! I’m barely scraping by, and it’s not like they’re short on resources!"

BrightTomorrow: "Times are tough for everyone, let’s not argue. As a neutral party, I’ll say this—@InvincibleBlackWhirlwind, just give them a bit more to make them feel better. After all, meeting each other is fate."

Seeing support, Player1212 doubled down on playing the victim. "Exactly! I just want fairness, but they blocked me right away!"

Qi Xu, eager to focus on her physical training, cut straight to the point.

"So by your logic, any trade can be reversed as long as one side demands more compensation, right?"

The other players quickly chimed in, unhappy with the idea.

"That’d be pure chaos—endless arguments every day."

"Seriously, pay attention when you trade. Backing out afterward? That’s not how it works."

Qi Xu had no patience for more and closed the screen to resume training.

Despite her daily efforts, the results were minimal—just a bit of weight loss.

Originally around 130 pounds, Qi Xu guessed she’d lost at least five. The softness around her waist had noticeably thinned.

Before the game, she’d been a shut-in writer, glued to her computer, too frugal to order takeout and surviving on home-cooked meals.

Zero exercise.

Add irregular sleep and constant late nights, and her weight had crept up over time...

Drenched in sweat, Qi Xu wiped her face with a towel, stretched, and finally called it a day. Slow and steady.

Before bed, she sharpened her knife—only then could she sleep soundly.

By Day 4, the daily travel requirement had increased by 20 kilometers.

No issue for Qi Xu. Except for Day 1 (a late start), she’d maxed out the 200 km limit the next two days.

If not for hunger, she’d have skipped meals to keep moving.

All to gamble on upgrading her tricycle—maybe to a motorcycle or at least a covered cart.

Not long after setting out, she spotted a parallel road. Other players would likely appear soon.

Qi Xu tensed.

Early in the game, outright malice was rare. With mild weather and enough food, survival wasn’t hard.

But predators existed everywhere.

Sure enough, the roads soon merged, revealing a silver minivan.

Qi Xu maintained full speed, unchanged.

The minivan, however, slowed abruptly, cutting her off.

Double-checking that her info was hidden, Qi Xu eased off, planning to pass on the side.

But the minivan blocked her again. The window rolled down, followed by lewd laughter.

Through the rearview mirror, Qi Xu saw the driver—a buzz-cut man steering one-handed, half-leaning out the window, eyes locked on her reflection as he whistled.

She flexed her wrists and ankles, then stopped the tricycle, feigning intimidation.

No choice. A pastel "princess bike" couldn’t sell the image of a cold-blooded killer. Better to play weak and lure him out.

The tricycle wouldn’t survive a collision.

As expected, the minivan stopped too.

"Hey cutie, love the ride. No rush—let’s chat a bit, yeah?"

Qi Xu scanned his profile. Bold move—no nickname hidden, just stats.

His ID: AwesomePLUS.

She rarely checked global chat, but the name felt vaguely familiar.

She stayed silent, refusing to dismount.

AwesomePLUS sauntered over, swinging a bat.

"Get down, or I smash this thing. Been starving all day—hand over your food."

Qi Xu finally "reluctantly" stepped off.

"D-don’t break it... I have instant noodles."

"Oho, the good stuff! Make it ready, and throw in some water."

She bit her lip. "What’ll you trade for it?"

He grinned. "How ‘bout a kiss from yours truly?"

Then it clicked.

This was the idiot she’d blocked—the one who’d offered a "kiss" for supplies.

Internally seething, Qi Xu shook her head violently, shrinking back. "I’ll get the noodles!"

As she rummaged through the cart, AwesomePLUS grew impatient.

"Find it yet? Quit stalling. Try anything funny, and you’re dead."

When he stepped within arm’s reach, Qi Xu spun—slashing his chest without hesitation.

Before he could scream, she drove the blade into his neck.

Survival in this game meant shedding hesitation. Qi Xu had learned the hard way, after costly mistakes.

Now? This fool was no different from the monsters.

After confirming his death, she searched his pockets—half a pack of premium cigarettes and a lighter. These could fetch a high price from the right buyer.

Finding nothing else, she dragged the body into the black fog lining the road.

As she turned, the system announcement rang:

"Congratulations! New title acquired: 〖Executioner〗. Truly an equal-opportunity killer—even your own kind! So scary~ Equip this title for +3 combat power against human players!"

For now, it was useless. 〖Heartless Little Brat〗 offered better bonuses, so she left it unequipped.

Qi Xu guessed the trigger was a first player kill.

After confirming no other vehicles approached, she headed to AwesomePLUS’s minivan. Opening the door, she smirked.

The idiot hadn’t even brought a backpack.

Jackpot.
