Buried Love 2009 wished he could bury his face into the bowl. "You call this making do? Master Chef, from now on, you are my number one idol! We've been in District 666 for so long, and this is the first time I've ever had the chance to eat your cooking!"
Many of the newly joined players nodded in frantic agreement. How could someone make ordinary rice porridge taste so incredibly delicious? Did that even make sense?
Egg Seven's team didn't encounter any drones, but Retired Magical Boy managed to bring back a card. It was also a Weapon Summoning Card.
Qi Xu and A'Bian discussed it briefly and chose to summon a large shield for Master Chef. If they got another one, they could opt for the purple longswords for Sakura Fall and Sister Yuan.
Master Chef had to stay behind to guard the camp at all times, so having a shield to protect everyone would be much safer.
The crucial point was that the rules for the Tournament of Champions had yet to be announced. For now, they could only try their best to guess how it worked. Since they had a camp, it definitely couldn't be allowed to be breached.
Regardless, hoarding supplies and bolstering their defenses first could never be wrong.
After eating and drinking their fill, they left one team behind to guard the camp again while the other three teams went out to explore. They desperately searched for any sign of the drones. Even if the drones weren't dropping supplies, Wolf Warrior 004 could still steal something.
At first, Wolf Warrior 004 would blush and feel embarrassed after stealing something. But now, he only felt secret delight and excitement. He had even learned how to chain his skills together to steal multiple times in a row.
Wolf Warrior 004 admitted that the feeling was a bit intoxicating. However, when he tried to sneak-attack Invincible Black Whirlwind, he still failed. Every time he focused his mental energy to cast his skill at her, Boss Whirlwind would always detect it instantly...
Wolf Warrior 004 would adjust the stealthiness of his skill casting based on the reasons for his failure, and then look for another opportunity to prepare for a sneak attack.
Qi Xu found it quite interesting; this training didn't just benefit one person!
Wolf Warrior 004 was a good kid who loved to study things closely. He had almost succeeded just now. Only then did he realize that mental energy could be mobilized in advance, and one could actively anticipate the timing and method of the opponent's skill casting.
Late into the night, it was pitch black outside, so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Only the warehouse had simple lighting equipment. After arranging the night watch, everyone lay down to rest.
However, at 3 AM, a sudden, loud clang startled everyone. They hurriedly scrambled up, thinking a monster was attacking.
The people on night watch were equally bewildered. Not a single damn thing had come! They had been keeping a close eye on everything and hadn't even dared to nod off.
Just then, the holographic screen's broadcast started screaming with passionate excitement, as if it were having a seizure.
[The five camps have been selected. The specific rules of the game will now be announced.]
Hearing this, everyone quickly shook off their sleepiness and focused their attention. The system was truly sick in the head—it just had to wait until the dead of night, when everyone was resting, to make the announcement.
[Everyone must continuously fight for resources and strive to survive in this desert. The district that successfully survives to the end will win first place in this Tournament of Champions! There is no second, third, or fourth place. Except for the first place, everyone else is a loser!
Losers, you will receive absolutely no rewards! And the participation surprise I mentioned comes from my whipping and spitting on you.
There are three ways to obtain resources. First, drones will drop various supplies at irregular times and locations. If you want to encounter a drone, you need to search for them in the desert yourself, but the desert also holds various hidden dangers.
Second, the public screen broadcast will randomly issue navigation routes to resource points. These resource points are rich in supplies and are not guarded by any monsters. First come, first served.
Third, plunder! Go and rob! Fight, warriors!
If all players in a district die or if the camp core is destroyed, that district will be completely eliminated. The camp cores for each district have been distributed. Please protect them carefully. Once their health drops to zero, they will be completely destroyed.
However, if you successfully destroy the camp core of another district, you will receive a generous reward of supplies.
The coordinates and navigation for the first resource point have already been issued to the top-ranked player of each district. Each district is free to choose whether to go or not!
The number of surviving personnel and the camp types of the five major districts are now announced as follows. Let me remind you once again: if all players die or the camp core is destroyed, you will be eliminated!
Region 01, District 04 Weapon Camp: 43 people
Region 01, District 06 Ruins Camp: 42 people
Region 01, District 08 Surprise Camp: 50 people
Region 01, District 09 Medicine Camp: 31 people
Region 88, District 666 Food Camp: 51 people]
After the holographic screen broadcast stopped, a green, cartoonish little figure appeared in the middle of the warehouse. A health bar indeed hovered above its head.
Qi Xu observed the number of people in the five districts. District 08, which had given up competing with District 666 for the Food Camp right from the start, had only lost one person. The three districts that had fought over the Weapon Camp had seen a sharp drop in numbers; they must have already clashed in a fierce battle.
Qi Xu hurriedly checked the map with A'Bian and found that the five camps were occupied by exactly one district each.
They were distributed equidistantly, forming a circle. To the left and right of the Food Camp were the Weapon Camp and the Ruins Camp, respectively.
The first resource point was also quite perfectly placed, located exactly in the center of the five camps, without leaning toward any side.
A circle of people surrounded Qi Xu, but everyone was waiting quietly for orders.
In team combat, there couldn't be too many voices. If everyone wanted to express their opinions, the whole situation would become chaotic. Therefore, it was enough for only one person to speak.
Invincible Black Whirlwind had proven with facts that she was the well-deserved leader. From the beginning of the game until now, she had ranked first in everything that had a ranking. Thus, everyone was willing to trust her unconditionally!
Qi Xu thought for a moment and said directly, "I suggest we don't fight for the resource point. Let's charge straight at the neighboring Weapon Camp. The resource point will just have things like food, weapons, medicine, and items.
Right now, we don't urgently need most of those; we only lack weapons. But if we destroy the Weapon Camp, I think we should be able to get weapons from it too—provided we have the ability to destroy it."
Dongfang Yuan raised her eyebrows and nodded. She was just about to say something but closed her mouth again. Forget it, it wasn't her turn right now. She might as well close her eyes and rest, saving her excitement for when the fighting started.
A'Bian spoke up in agreement, "That sounds good. Right now, aside from us not lacking food, the other four camps should all be short on it. We just had dinner tonight, and even we feel like we've digested most of it by now.
Therefore, our current physical condition must be among the top. The Surprise Camp not only has a lot of people but also the most variables, making it inconvenient to attack them directly.
We can wait until more of us have weapons or until we gather more intelligence before considering them. Other than that, we can actually go head-to-head with the other three camps.
The only thing we need to consider is whether the other districts might join forces and draw some manpower to attack our camp, aiming to eliminate the district with the most experts and the highest number of people first."
