Chen Ronghua gritted his teeth and tossed out a basic Spatial Stone. "This is a spatial storage item containing 1,000 survival coins and essential supplies."
"You think you're tossing scraps to a beggar?" Qi Xu rolled her eyes in disdain but still pocketed the stone—it had a few materials needed for hatching colored eggs. Not bad, not bad.
Qi Xu only owned two basic Spatial Stones. One was originally with the "I Can't Do It" robot, and the other was kept as a backup.
Since the two little ones were going on a long trip, she gave both stones to them. A poor home but a rich journey—they’d need extra supplies on the road.
Now the "I Can't Do It" robot was left without one, severely hampering its work efficiency. When Qi Xu took the stone, it even protested, complaining that work wasn’t fun anymore.
Perfect timing—now she had another one! The diligent employee wouldn’t be inconvenienced anymore. The "I Can't Do It" robot would surely be thrilled.
Chen Ronghua was fuming. "If you don’t agree, then give it back!"
"Ugly and delusional—what a combo. Funny enough, I’m also a treacherous, untrustworthy villain."
Without warning, Qi Xu lunged forward, releasing pink mist at his knees. Twin blades followed—one aimed at his throat, the other at his abdomen.
The entire sequence took less than half a second.
Chen Ronghua, already exhausted from his earlier fight with Dongfang Yuan, barely dodged. He managed to deflect the blade at his neck, but his stomach was skewered, and his kneecaps shattered.
Qi Xu smirked, readying another strike—only to freeze. Chen Ronghua’s wounds had completely healed. Worse, his entire body darkened, oozing black smoke. His pupils turned blood-red, and dark blood streamed from his seven orifices...
Yet the energy swirling around him had multiplied exponentially.
Of course. Killing him wouldn’t be that easy.
Chen Ronghua never expected two brats to push him this far. Using "Demon Possession" came at a cost—his mind would be chaotic for at least 20 days...
His chances at this month’s leaderboard were ruined!
And who knew what the world would look like in 20 days? Damn it all!
Qi Xu hesitated but held back her lethal move, testing another attack instead.
Her twin heavy blades slashed horizontally, pink mist cutting off his escape. But her blades clanged against his body as if striking solid steel.
Chen Ronghua retaliated with a punch—Qi Xu’s body locked in place, immobilized by an invisible force.
The next second, his fist connected. Qi Xu was sent flying three meters into the air, vomiting blood before she even hit the ground.
Her eyes rolled back, teetering on unconsciousness. Yet before she landed, she lunged again, weaving through the air with agile footwork. Mist and blades targeted Chen Ronghua’s vitals once more.
She was betting his "immobilization" had limits. As for injuries? She’d learned to ignore pain. As long as it didn’t kill her, she’d fight at full strength.
Chen Ronghua’s abdomen was gouged open again, intestines spilling out. Yet he fought even more ferociously, as if drugged.
Familiar with Dongfang Yuan’s style, Qi Xu anticipated Chen Ronghua’s moves. She poured everything into the fight, trading brutal blows with his demonized form.
In mere minutes, they exchanged hundreds of strikes. Though Qi Xu spent most of it battered and bleeding, the battle was worth it.
After acquiring her new skill, "Scarlet Assault," she’d craved a high-stakes fight. Today, she got her wish—and it was addictive. Each time she was knocked back, she charged again, almost masochistically.
Badly wounded, Qi Xu wasn’t alone. Chen Ronghua’s "Demon Possession" had severe drawbacks—while it doubled his power, the backlash weakened him over time until the demon fully took over.
Unwilling to gamble, Chen Ronghua used an item to forcibly exit the duel space.
Qi Xu was ready. The moment they reappeared, she pointed at his head and declared, "You’re trash!"
Normally, she reserved this move for monsters. Today was the first time she’d used it on a player.
Chen Ronghua assumed it was just an insult—until her words landed. His consciousness vanished instantly. Protective items failed to activate as his body collapsed lifelessly.
Qi Xu checked the player list. The avatar for "Lord of Demon Island" had turned gray.
Dongfang Yuan examined the corpse. "No pulse. Body’s cold." From Chen Ronghua’s pocket, she retrieved another Enslavement Stone—Qi Xu had gotten one from the God of Light before.
After months of pursuit—first with the giant black snake harassing him, blocking his access to supply crates, then with Qi Xu and Dongfang Yuan rallying monsters to drain his resources—they’d finally cornered him in the cinema.
It hadn’t been easy.
Qi Xu used a high-grade healing card, sighing in relief.
The two kittens, Meow and Mew, had been watching. Once certain Chen Ronghua was dead, they bounded over, faux-outraged.
"Wow... so mean! Fighting in the station is against the rules! You can’t do this! We’re fining you!"
Their angry act was adorable.
Qi Xu couldn’t resist blowing them a kiss and winking, flustering the kittens. Then, feigning shock, she clasped her hands. "Our deepest apologies for the trouble. We accept the penalty!"
"Five survival coins each! And clean up the yard!"
"No problem!"
Qi Xu cheerfully paid up. Together with Dongfang Yuan, they hauled Chen Ronghua’s body outside and fed it to the black mist.
She waited for a reaction from the mist... but nothing happened.
Ah. This wasn’t their black mist. What a waste—their own mist loved devouring empowered beings.
Chen Ronghua’s vehicle still sat outside the cinema. Qi Xu wasn’t about to leave it behind—after the resources spent hunting him, they needed compensation.
But... was this junker even worth it?
