Through the Chaotic World, the Mad Princess Built a Kingdom by Robbery

Chapter 18

Jiang Jin dodged sideways. Before the man could launch a second attack, the stun baton in her left hand was already pressed against his abdomen.

As soon as the man felt something pressed against his abdomen, a sharp pain shot through him, and his body began to convulse violently.

The soldiers behind him didn't understand what was happening. Unable to see the scene clearly, they only assumed the soldier in front had been attacked.

Angry and anxious, he held his sword in his right hand and tried to push away the comrade blocking him with his left hand. The result was exactly as one would expect.

Due to their sudden braking, the bodies of the soldiers behind inevitably crashed into the one in front. Thus, five soldiers were skewered together like candied haws on a stick, forming a line and twitching in a rather spectacular dance-like scene.

This time, Jiang Jin had turned the stun baton to its maximum power. The soldier at the front was nearly electrocuted to a crisp, yet he still led the people behind him in the trembling.

It had to be said that the narrow stairway of the city tower was a particularly suitable place for making skewers.

Hearing the hurried footsteps coming down the stairs again, Jiang Jin kept her hands steady but leaned her body forward to ensure the soldiers coming down couldn't see her.

Just as she expected, when the soldiers coming down from upstairs saw their comrades dancing collectively, they were bewildered: "Juli, what's wrong with you guys?"

Saying that, he couldn't help but reach out to push the dancing Juli, who was the soldier standing at the very top of the stairs.

Anxious to go down and check the situation, the few of them were already standing close together. Plus, with only the dim light of the torches making it hard to see clearly, the moment he touched Juli, the comrades behind him couldn't stop in time and inevitably made physical contact.

Thus, the number of dancing soldiers grew from five to nine.

At this point, someone finally realized something was wrong. A short soldier was so scared his body went limp, and he took two steps back. "It's sorcery! It's sorcery, there's a monster!"

The captain led a few people hurriedly down the stairs, arriving right at this moment. "What monster? Have you caught the person?"

The short soldier pointed a trembling finger at the line of convulsing soldiers. "They, they are all possessed! It must be sorcery!"

The scar-faced man sneered coldly. "I, Lushan, never believe in such things. I want to see who is playing the devil."

Though he said this, his actions were very cautious. He raised the large iron hammer in his hand and gently nudged the convulsing soldier.

The captain didn't stop him; he also wanted to see what was going on.

The short soldier shouted anxiously, "Don't touch them, or else..."

Before he could finish shouting, he stopped, because he noticed that the scar-faced man, Lushan, didn't start convulsing like the other soldiers.

His face was full of astonishment, unable to understand what was going on.

Jiang Jin wasn't in a hurry either. This man wasn't electrocuted because the handle of his hammer was made of wood, which was an insulator.

However, there is a universal truth, and that is human curiosity.

Feeling no discomfort in his body, Lushan relaxed his tense nerves slightly and couldn't resist slowly reaching his left hand toward the convulsing soldier.

The moment his hand touched the soldier, a sharp pain struck him. He wanted to pull his hand back, but he could no longer do so, and his body began to convulse completely out of control.

"Ah!" the short soldier screamed in terror.

The captain and the others instinctively took a few steps back. Since they were still standing on the stairs, they almost fell, only steadying themselves by leaning against the city wall.

Jiang Jin knew it was about enough. These people probably wouldn't fall for it again. She estimated the time, and after confirming that the last electrocuted man had also passed out, she put the stun baton back into her spatial storage.

Cold sweat broke out on the captain's forehead. He felt that the events they encountered today were incredibly bizarre, like a dream, with an unreal sense of absurdity.

"Ah, ah, they, they've stopped moving!" the short soldier was the first to notice that Lushan and the others had suddenly stopped convulsing.

The captain was startled. He looked closely and, sure enough, the previously convulsing soldiers were no longer moving!

Suddenly, a figure seemed to flash before his eyes. Before the captain could react, a thick, warm liquid sprayed all over his face.

He stared blankly as a head flew high into the air. He knew that was the head of the soldier standing right in front of him.

Great horror filled his heart. Instinctively sensing danger, he blocked forward with the bow in his hand and rapidly retreated backward.

Bang.

The bow in his hand was forcefully chopped in half!

His bow was made of Cudrania wood, a very hard material, and had been with him for nearly ten years.

However, at this moment, he had no time to mourn his bow. The gleaming blade of a sword slashed right across his chest.

Fortunately, he had just taken two steps back; otherwise, he would have been disemboweled by now.

The webbing between Jiang Jin's thumb and index finger throbbed with pain. Her current body was too weak. It was only because her sword was sharp enough that she managed to cut through the hard Cudrania wood in one strike.

Failing to kill the captain in one blow, she didn't lose heart. Sensing the wind of a blade coming from her side, she swung the sword in her hand horizontally, the blade flashing past.

Clang. The sword of the person sneaking up on Jiang Jin was blocked by her Tang sword, immediately leaving a notch on it.

The sneaking man was surprised by the sharpness of her sword, but he had somewhat figured it out in his heart. The opponent's strength didn't seem too great, but her reaction speed was very fast.

Just as he was thinking this, a sharp pain pierced his chest. The sneaking man looked down in disbelief, only to see a dagger plunged right into his heart.

The captain shouted, "Sword!"

A soldier standing at the very back threw the sword in his hand toward him. "Captain, catch."

The captain reached out to catch the sword and slashed fiercely at Jiang Jin.

Jiang Jin didn't have time to pull out the dagger, so she abandoned it directly and held her sword with both hands to block.

Clang, the sound of metal clashing rang out.

Jiang Jin's entire body was knocked back two steps. Her expression was solemn; this man had immense strength!

The captain pursued closely, his blade slashing toward Jiang Jin's neck.

Jiang Jin dodged sideways, simultaneously thrusting her Tang sword toward the captain's abdomen.

The captain had no choice but to retreat to avoid the sharp edge.

Jiang Jin's Tang sword followed closely, slashing toward his legs.

The captain retreated again.

Suddenly, a sword slashed at Jiang Jin from her side. It was the soldier who had thrown the sword to the captain earlier; he had picked up a sword from somewhere to sneak attack her.

Jiang Jin tilted her head to avoid his sword, while simultaneously thrusting her Tang sword backward.

Pfft, the soft sound of a blade piercing flesh was heard.

Seeing his subordinates fall one by one, the captain's eyes widened to the point of tearing, and he roared, "Thief, you court death!"

He slashed his sword straight at Jiang Jin.

Expressionless, Jiang Jin leaned backward, using the Tang sword behind her for support. She barely dodged it, then pulled out the Tang sword, bringing out a spray of blood.

The Tang sword, still dripping with beads of blood, slashed diagonally toward the captain's left shoulder.

The captain didn't have time to halt his momentum and dodged to the right.

However, Jiang Jin's target wasn't his left shoulder!

A dagger suddenly appeared in her left hand, thrusting toward the captain's abdomen.

It looked as if the captain had deliberately tilted his body to the right to let Jiang Jin stab him.

Pfft, blood splattered.

Without stopping her movements, Jiang Jin slid the dagger to the left.

The right side of the captain's abdomen was sliced cleanly open, and blood gushed out.

He staggered a few steps, the sword in his hand dropping to the ground with a clatter. His body followed, tumbling down the stairs a few times. After twitching a few times, he breathed his last.

"Ah, mon, monster..." the short soldier collapsed to the ground.
