The Real Heiress from the Countryside Turns Out to Be the Feudal Ancestor

Chapter 186

How could she be with Third Young Master He again?!

Nan Zhenming suddenly snapped out of his daze, his face twisting in shock and fury. He stormed forward, fuming, "Nan Sangning!"

Sangning turned to look at him, the soft smile still lingering on her lips, her demeanor gentle and obedient. "Dad, is there something else you need?"

Nan Zhenming’s hand trembled as he pointed at her, his voice shaking with rage. "You—you and Third Young Master He… Are you deliberately making a fool of me?!"

Sangning shook her head. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

"You still dare to act innocent!" Nan Zhenming was livid. "This was all your scheme, wasn’t it?! Nan Sangning, how could I have such a venomous daughter—you’ve ruined Nan Corporation!"

Sangning feigned surprise. "I ruined Nan Corporation?"

Nan Zhenming’s expression stiffened, momentarily speechless.

"If not cleaning up your mess makes me a venomous daughter, then what does that make you—the one who drove the family business into bankruptcy?"

Her voice was calm, but every word cut like a knife.

Nan Zhenming was so furious he could barely breathe, grinding his teeth. "I’m going straight to Grandpa—you’ve deceived us all!"

Sangning smiled faintly. "Go ahead."

Nan Zhenming froze. Seeing her so composed and unshaken, he suddenly realized—Nan Corporation was now entirely in Nan Sangning’s hands.

What could Grandpa even do about it?

Sangning’s smile faded, her eyes turning cold. "Don’t forget, the survival of Nan Corporation now rests in my hands. The mess you left behind still needs me to clean it up."

"Don’t get cocky! If you hadn’t schemed behind my back, I would never have let the company fall into this state!"

Only now did Nan Zhenming realize—this had been her plan from the very beginning.

From the moment he took over the company and faced constant obstacles, from the instigation that led him to dismiss Sangning’s trusted subordinates, to the crises that plagued every major project.

Nan Sangning had flaunted her relationship with He Siyu at Grandpa’s birthday banquet, basking in the glory, then lured him into swallowing the crumbling Chen Corporation.

Eager to prove himself, he had poured all of Nan Corporation’s cash flow into acquiring Chen Corporation—only for the company to spiral further into chaos. And at that very moment, Nan Sangning announced her breakup with He Siyu.

She had resigned from the company long ago, yet she had orchestrated everything, manipulating the entire Nan family like puppets!

Nan Zhenming had never felt so humiliated in his life—and the one responsible was his own daughter!

Blinded by rage, he raised his hand. "I’ll beat some sense into you, you wretched girl!"

Sangning stood still, neither dodging nor flinching, her expression unreadable.

Just as Nan Zhenming’s hand was about to strike, a large hand clamped around his wrist.

He turned furiously—only to meet He Siyu’s icy dark eyes. His face paled instantly.

He Siyu’s voice was frigid. "Mr. Nan, if we’re speaking in business terms, you should know how to accept defeat gracefully. And if we’re speaking of father-daughter bonds, relationships are a two-way street. You can’t expect all the benefits without bearing any consequences."

Nan Zhenming stood rigid, his face alternating between red and white in humiliation.

He Siyu released his wrist, wrapped an arm around Sangning’s waist, and opened the passenger door for her. She stepped in without hesitation.

He circled the car and took the driver’s seat.

The black Bentley glided smoothly away.

Nan Zhenming remained rooted in place, watching until the car disappeared into traffic before finally stomping his foot in fury.

"That wretched girl!"

---

The next morning at nine, Sangning arrived at Nan Corporation.

"Congratulations on your reinstatement, Young President Nan."

The conference room was packed, the voices rising in unison.

Dressed in a white suit with a sapphire butterfly brooch pinned to her chest, her wavy hair cascading over her shoulders, Sangning strode confidently into the room in three-inch heels.

She reached the head of the long table, pulled out her chair, and sat down with a faint smile. "Thank you."

Among those present were not only Nan Corporation’s executives but also the trusted aides she had brought back with her.

The tense, despairing atmosphere from days before had vanished, replaced by a sense of renewed vigor.

Sangning tapped the table lightly, her voice steady. "The company’s situation is dire. Grandpa has decided to have me return to lead the restructuring. I’m sure you’re all aware—Nan Corporation is at a critical juncture. I need everyone’s full cooperation to pull through this. I have faith we can do it."

"Absolutely!" Applause broke out. "We believe in Young President Nan!"

Her lips curved slightly. "Then let’s proceed as planned. Reassign responsibilities based on previous projects, follow up with partners, and continue negotiations. As for the acquisition of Chen Corporation, I’ll delegate a separate team to handle the process…"

The meeting lasted three full hours, meticulously untangling every mess and assigning teams to tackle each issue.

By the time it ended, it was already noon.

Nanny Zhang brought lunch, but Sangning only took a few bites before diving back into work.

The company was in shambles—there was too much to sort out, and she felt stretched thin.

Yet she was more determined than ever.

Her office door never closed that day, with project managers streaming in and out for discussions. Reassuring partners was no easy task.

"Hao Yong is being particularly inflexible—either we deliver on time with the quality specified in the contract, or we pay double compensation. There’s no room for negotiation," Lin Yuan reported, looking troubled.

The Hao Yong order was due in a week, and even though Sangning had rehired the top engineer, it would still take at least half a month to complete the batch.

Xu Yan hurried in. "Young President Nan, Manager Zheng from Hao Yong is here."

Sangning stood. "I’ll greet him myself."

She took the elevator down to the lobby just as a black business car pulled up at the entrance.

Xu Yan rushed to open the door while Sangning waited politely. "Manager Zheng."

Zheng stepped out, glaring at her. "What’s this?! Nan Corporation is drowning in its own mess, and now they send a little girl to placate us?!"

"Manager Zheng, Nan Corporation has no intention of reneging. There were internal issues before, but the management has been reorganized. Your order will be delivered with guaranteed quality within two weeks."

Zheng sneered. "You guarantee it? With what authority?! A little girl who hasn’t even grown her feathers yet, trying to negotiate with me? A woman dumped by Third Young Master He—know your place!"

Back when Sangning and He Siyu were dating, Zheng had been the most obsequious. Now that they’d broken up, he was the first to kick her while she was down.

"And what exactly is her place?"

A deep voice cut through the air from behind.

Zheng spun around—and his pupils shrank at the sight of the tall figure approaching.

He Siyu was dressed in a black suit, an outfit meant to be formal, yet he wore it with an air of nonchalance. His tie had already been loosened, and the top two buttons of his shirt were undone. His steps were casual, but the closer he got, the more his presence seemed to press down like an invisible force.

Nan Sangning blinked.

Manager Zheng immediately switched his demeanor, forcing an ingratiating smile. "Mr. He, what a coincidence! What brings you here?"

He Siyu tilted his chin slightly, glancing at Nan Sangning. "Picking up my girlfriend after work."

Manager Zheng's smile froze on his face, his mind buzzing with disbelief: ???

What the—?!

He Siyu walked over to Nan Sangning, wrapping an arm around her waist. "What were you two just talking about?"

Nan Sangning shook her head. "Nothing much. Manager Zheng was just discussing a collaboration with me."

"Is that so?" He smirked, giving Manager Zheng a look that was impossible to decipher.

Finally snapping out of his stunned silence, Manager Zheng stammered, "I—I didn’t… I thought you and Miss Nan had already broken up..."

He Siyu replied casually, "Oh, we just got back together."

Manager Zheng: ???

It’s only been a few days! Already back together?!

Weren’t people saying he was so cold-hearted he wouldn’t even answer her calls, even vowing to ruin the Nan family?

Are these two playing house or something?!
