The Eleventh Year After My Death

Chapter 59

Zhang Nan: "..."

Zhang Nan froze in embarrassment, wishing she could vanish into thin air.

Damn it! Li Huanyu really had to show off like that!

The head nurse stood awkwardly behind them, clearly aware this wasn’t proper procedure.

But this was the girlfriend of the Gu family’s eldest son—a famous celebrity at that. Who dared to cross her?

After a moment’s hesitation, the nurse stepped forward with a forced smile. "How about this? We’ll move you to a larger VIP room at no extra cost. Would that work for you?"

In the hospital bed sat a frail middle-aged woman, while a gloomy teenager with hair covering his eyes stood nearby.

By the door was a woman in professional attire, though her confidence seemed to have evaporated.

So the head nurse directed her words to Lin Mo—a girl who looked no older than seventeen or eighteen.

No particular reason, just a hunch that she was the one calling the shots here.

Li Huanyu’s gaze also landed on Lin Mo, her tone dripping with arrogance. "Hurry up and move out. If you won’t, then get lost!"

Back at Starlight Group, she’d been humiliated in front of everyone.

Now that she had the upper hand, she wasn’t about to let this chance slip by.

She wanted them to know exactly how it felt to be kicked out in disgrace.

But Lin Mo, who had been slightly annoyed a moment ago, instantly brightened at the mention of a free upgrade to a bigger VIP room. "We’ll move. Right now."

Li Huanyu: "..."

Li Huanyu felt like she’d just punched a cloud—her anger only grew more suffocating.

"No! Who gave you the authority to handle things like this? They are not getting a better room!" she snapped, glaring at the head nurse.

Head nurse: "..."

What kind of lunatic was this?

Why make things hard for a mere employee?

Lin Mo smiled. "Then we won’t move. We paid for this room. Even if this hospital belonged to you, you’d have no right to treat us like this."

Zhang Nan lifted her chin slightly. "That’s right. We can report you to 12305!"

Li Huanyu found them utterly ridiculous. "Do you really think this hospital doesn’t have powerful backing?"

The head nurse’s eyes nearly popped out of her skull.

Was she seriously saying this out loud?

Even the hospital director wouldn’t dare be so blatant!

Panicking, the nurse tugged at Li Huanyu’s sleeve. "Miss Li, please don’t do this. The room next door is even bigger. I’ll arrange for you to stay there instead."

"No. I want this one. Kick them out!" Li Huanyu insisted.

The nurse lowered her head. "I’m sorry, but I can’t do that."

Li Huanyu gritted her teeth. "You’re fired!"

Just then, her phone rang. She glanced at the screen—Gu Jingchuan was calling.

Stepping outside, she answered.

"Jingchuan, are you here yet?"

Gu Jingchuan had just parked in the lot when he realized this was the same hospital Lin Mo had visited yesterday.

Beijing was his family’s stronghold—they owned several private hospitals.

He’d planned to visit in the afternoon, but now he had to come earlier.

"Which room are you in? I’ll meet you there," he said.

Li Huanyu softened her voice. "I’m in the VIP wing. There’s a room I want, but the head nurse refuses to let me have it!"

Gu Jingchuan’s tone darkened. "What nurse dares to treat you like that? I’m on my way!"

Hanging up, Li Huanyu allowed herself a triumphant smile.

Injured as she was, Gu Jingchuan would bend over backward for her.

Kicking out one patient? A trivial matter.

The head nurse, who had followed her out, overheard the conversation.

Her vision blurred—this was a disaster.

Gu Jingchuan spotted Li Huanyu in the hallway, her arm in a sling.

Pale and fragile, she looked like a gust of wind could knock her over.

His heart ached as he rushed to her. "Huanyu, does it still hurt?"

The moment she heard his voice, tears spilled down her cheeks. "Jingchuan, it hurts so much."

He pulled her close, murmuring reassurances. "It’ll heal soon. Now, who’s refusing to give you the room you want?"

Between sobs, Li Huanyu laid the groundwork. "It’s partly my fault. The room I like is already occupied, and the people inside won’t leave. The nurse said I shouldn’t insist..."

Gu Jingchuan’s patience evaporated at the sight of her tears. "They’re moving. In my family’s hospital, my woman gets whatever she wants!"

A faint smirk curled Li Huanyu’s lips.

Gu Jingchuan, now fully masked and capped, turned to the head nurse. "What’s wrong with you? Can’t even handle something this simple?"

The nurse was mortified. She had tried to mediate!

"The patient’s family—"

"Tell them to transfer if they won’t cooperate!" Gu Jingchuan cut her off sharply.

Then he turned—and saw Lin Mo, the "family member," munching on a honey-glazed bun.
