Promised as a Dating Sim, How Did It Turn Into an RPG?

Chapter 13

"So that's how it is. Have the SPW staff keep an eye out for a man named Hol Horse at the airport and notify the airline to delay the departure of flights to Egypt."

Since DIO was hiding in Egypt, Hol Horse would inevitably need to take a plane to Cairo if he wanted to transport Shunan. Time was running out for them.

When Kujo Jotaro used the phone at Ms. Shiokawa's place to explain the situation to Joseph, Nianzi couldn't help but wonder what kind of privilege his family had to make airlines delay flights. But what surprised her even more was that his "affection lock" toward her had been removed.

She didn’t understand why Kujo Jotaro had suddenly changed his opinion of her—the unlock condition was a mystery—but she wasn’t particularly bothered by it. After hearing the sound of the lock breaking, she merely checked the affection changes out of curiosity.

Good news: his affection had finally increased for the first time!

Bad news: the previously locked -70 had become an unlocked -65—still a stubbornly negative value.

A slight improvement, from "extreme disgust" to "strong dislike."

Nianzi closed the status screen with an expressionless face. If she didn’t hold expectations, she wouldn’t be disappointed—just like now.

Whatever. His affection was too hard to raise anyway. After being stuck in the negatives for so long, she had long given up. There were plenty of other characters to pursue; she didn’t have to win him over. Whether it was -1 or -100 made no difference. She couldn’t be bothered to care anymore!

Still, Nianzi knew that no matter how much Kujo Jotaro disliked her, he would do what he believed was right. Beneath that brutish exterior was a strong sense of justice—evident from how he’d risked himself to save Kakyoin. So she wouldn’t hesitate to ask for his help when needed.

"Are you sure the airline will agree to delay the flight? Why would they listen to you?"

After finishing the call, they immediately left Ms. Shiokawa’s apartment. But Nianzi’s worries didn’t ease. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she asked, "What exactly does your family do? Are you some kind of zaibatsu? Or a member of the Diet?"

Kujo Jotaro glanced at her.

"Neither. The old man just owns shares in those airlines."

His tone was cold, but he still answered her question.

...Right. A super-capitalist, then.

She fell silent after that, quietly following him as they set off again. When they neared the airport, they noticed a heavy police presence around the access roads—even detectives from the investigation division were there. They had blocked off vehicle entrances and were evacuating the crowd.

"Impressive. You even got the Metropolitan Police involved?"

Nianzi was genuinely shocked. She hadn’t expected money to be this effective. Was this what privilege looked like?

"..."

But Kujo Jotaro seemed just as surprised as she was. He didn’t respond, stopping to park the motorcycle and frowning slightly as he observed the situation.

"Hello, we’re here under Mr. Joestar’s request."

Assuming the officers would recognize Kujo Jotaro’s face, Nianzi strode straight toward them, intending to pass through the blockade—only to be immediately stopped.

"Who? Entry is prohibited right now! The airport received a terrorist threat. All flights are canceled—please turn back!"

Huh?

Was this the excuse Joseph Joestar had arranged? Canceling all flights? But why did it seem like they didn’t even know who the old man was? Unless he’d gone through an intermediary to issue the order.

Nianzi immediately looked to Kujo Jotaro for confirmation, but his expression mirrored her own confusion.

"What terrorist threat?" Kujo Jotaro asked.

"Apologies, but we can’t disclose details at this time. The airport is under lockdown—no entry or exit permitted. Please leave immediately."

The officer refused to elaborate, only urging them to go.

"Was this your grandfather’s doing?"

"Not sure. We’ll wait for the old man to arrive."

He started scanning the area for a payphone to confirm the situation with Joseph, but Nianzi wasn’t willing to wait that long. A new plan quickly formed in her mind—along with a fresh system prompt.

Options:

A: Continue waiting for Joseph Joestar to arrive.

B: Find a way inside.

Was there even a choice? Sneaking in, of course.

She had a Stealth LV1 trait, meaning she was naturally good at sneaky activities.

The problem was the sheer number of officers present. No matter how stealthy she was, people weren’t blind—slipping past so many into the airport wasn’t realistic. But it wasn’t impossible. Among the skills she could unlock at the next level was Invisibility.

If she could learn Invisibility, she’d be unstoppable! Her chances of successful theft would skyrocket. And right now, she was only 78 EXP short of leveling up!

A few fights would get her there. She eyed the patrolling officers—their HP ranged from 12-18, no higher than Kakyoin’s. She could take them out in one hit each. But the moment she attacked one, all of them would turn hostile. Without any AoE skills, facing so many at once wasn’t feasible. Kujo Jotaro definitely wouldn’t help with this, and within three minutes, she’d be knocked out.

After weighing the odds, she concluded a direct assault wouldn’t work. So she turned her attention to Kujo Jotaro.

"Can I beat you up?"

Nianzi stared at the 55/55 HP floating above his head and abruptly asked.

"?"

Even at LV1, his HP was higher than hers after leveling up. Add in his absurdly fast Stand, and she doubted she could win. Losing affection from attacking him didn’t bother her, but if she failed to land a sneak attack and got countered, it’d be game over. Even if she did win, she’d be left with critical HP—a huge disadvantage against DIO’s minions later. So, just to be safe, she decided to negotiate politely, hoping he wouldn’t fight back.

It seemed like such a bizarre request that Kujo Jotaro gave her a strange look, as if trying to figure out her angle. Soon, he raised an eyebrow and replied just as coolly, "If you want a fight, bring everything you’ve got."

"There’s no need for both of us to get hurt. Only one of us needs to go down."

Nianzi tried to reason with him. "I just need a little more EXP to learn Invisibility. Then I’ll slip into the airport and deal with that cowboy Hol Horse. You can stay here and keep waiting."

"Don’t even think about it. I won’t go easy on you."

Kujo Jotaro mercilessly shut her down, leaving no room for negotiation as he summoned his Stand, Star Platinum—instantly turning hostile!

Negotiation failed!

Looks like she had no choice but to fight. Nianzi swiftly clasped her hands together, summoning Mage Hand, ready to take Kujo Jotaro’s EXP by force. But just then, another car pulled up beside them, and out stepped Joseph Joestar—along with a police inspector.

"Hold it! What are you two doing?!"

The old man was shocked by the sight and rushed over to stop them.

"What's going on? Why are you fighting?!"

Seeing the old man arrive, Nianzi knew the fight couldn’t continue and reluctantly withdrew her Stand, causing Kujo Jotaro’s stance to return to neutral.

"It’s nothing. More importantly, what’s going on with you, old man?"

Jotaro turned to Joseph Joestar, but the old man’s expression was grave. After glancing at both of them to confirm they wouldn’t resume fighting, he shook his head and explained the situation.

"It’s bad. Right after your call, I contacted some people I know, but the enemy still beat us to it! Hol Horse boarded a flight to Cairo an hour ago and already took off. Then, the airport received a threat from a notorious terrorist—code-named 'Gray Fly'—who has orchestrated multiple plane crashes! He claims to already be at the airport and will randomly target the next departing flight for destruction!"

What?!

Both Nianzi and Jotaro froze. They had assumed Hol Horse was their only enemy, but now an even more infamous international terrorist had joined DIO’s ranks, working from the inside to block their path!

They were too late… Shunan had been taken away!
