Qin Yuhe walked out of the flower shop carrying a huge bouquet.
A handsome man, fiery red roses, and warm sunlight.
Even the breeze seemed sweet.
It was only a few steps from the flower shop to the Rolls-Royce.
The sight of Qin Yuhe holding the flowers drew countless curious glances.
He got into the car, placing the roses on the seat beside him.
The driver asked, “President Qin, where are we going next?”
To see her.
Qin Yuhe said, “The company.”
The driver headed toward the Qin Group building.
The scenery on both sides of the road swiftly receded, transforming into a rippling stream.
The driver was highly capable. He drove both smoothly and quickly, delivering President Qin to his wife’s side at the company in the shortest possible time.
Qin Yuhe got out of the car with the flowers and entered the lobby.
The employees coming and going were all stunned to see their president. When they noticed the roses in his arms, their surprise turned into envy.
“President Qin is back from his business trip!”
“Who are those flowers for?”
“Obviously his girlfriend, Song Xinya. Who else would they be for—you?”
“That hurts, bro.”
“He came straight to see his girlfriend with flowers the moment he got back from a business trip. That’s so romantic!”
Qin Yuhe took the private elevator to the eighth floor.
The employees collectively let out a chorus of “Wow!”
Someone called out, “President Qin is here!”
Zhao Yinian came running out of the office in high heels. She moved so quickly that she nearly twisted her ankle.
“President Qin!”
Her voice was filled with delight, the final note rising brightly.
She hurried to Qin Yuhe’s side, touching her fingers to her ear as her face flushed shyly.
“President Qin, what brings you to the company?”
Qin Yuhe said, “I’m here to see Song Xinya.”
Zhao Yinian’s face darkened as though she had never seen sunlight from the day she was born.
Qin Yuhe looked around the lobby at the empty workstations. “Where is Song Xinya?”
Zhao Yinian replied, “She took the day off and went out. I don’t know what she’s doing. Maybe she has a date with someone.”
Qin Yuhe said, “Aside from me, she won’t go on a date with anyone else.”
Zhao Yinian’s face turned as black as the bottom of a cast-iron cafeteria wok.
Qin Yuhe turned and walked out. Zhao Yinian had finally gotten the chance to see him and was reluctant to let him leave, so she hurriedly said, “President Qin, I have some very important work-related matters to report to you.”
Qin Yuhe replied, “Put them aside for now. I have something more important to do.”
Zhao Yinian asked, “What could be more important?”
Qin Yuhe said, “Seeing Song Xinya.”
Zhao Yinian’s face looked ready to drip ink.
Qin Yuhe left the company and got into the Rolls-Royce. He sent Song Xinya a message:
[Where are you?]
He waited for quite a while, but she didn’t reply.
What was she busy with at the moment?
…
At the beauty salon.
The beautician’s massage technique was exceptionally skilled. After applying whitening essence all over Song Xinya’s body, her slender hands moved across her skin in a smooth, practiced rhythm, applying just the right amount of pressure.
Song Xinya felt that she wasn’t merely getting a beauty treatment—she was enjoying a master-level massage. Before long, she drifted off to sleep.
The beautician woke her.
“Miss Song, you can get up and check the results of your full-body treatment.”
Song Xinya got off the bed and stood in front of the mirror.
Reflected in it was a stunning beauty. Her dark hair fell like clouds, her skin was crystalline and soft, and her snow-white, graceful body was smooth and radiant, every inch of her skin glowing with a luster so delicate that not even a pore could be seen.
The effects of the luxury spa were immediate—its results were practically miraculous.
Song Xinya suddenly understood why wealthy ladies loved frequenting beauty salons.
Who didn’t want to become more beautiful?
It wasn’t only about pleasing a man. It was also about pleasing oneself. Seeing a more beautiful version of yourself could lift your mood as well.
“I’m very satisfied with the results this time.”
The beautician said, “A customer’s satisfaction is what makes us happiest. Miss Song, remember to ask for me the next time you come to the salon.”
She handed Song Xinya a business card.
“Sure.” Song Xinya reached out and took it.
After getting dressed, Song Xinya walked out of the room.
The beautician stayed behind to tidy up.
As Song Xinya stepped through the doorway, her phone chimed from inside her bag.
She took it out and saw the message Qin Yuhe had sent:
[Where are you?]
As she walked, she began typing a reply:
[I’m at…]
Suddenly, the door of the room beside her flew open. A pair of hands reached out, clamped over her mouth and nose, and dragged her inside.
Her phone fell to the floor. She never got the chance to finish typing the words “beauty salon.”
Someone had become utterly lawless. In broad daylight, they had dared to kidnap a woman inside a beauty salon!
The person dragging Song Xinya was brutally strong. She clung desperately to the doorframe, using it for support as she struggled to escape.
She hadn’t closed the door when she came out, and the beautician was in the room next door, whose door stood wide open.
Unable to make a sound because of the hand over her mouth, Song Xinya kicked the door, doing everything she could to make as much noise as possible.
Bang!
The sound reached the beautician’s ears.
The beautician paused and looked toward the doorway. “Who’s there?”
Hearing the beautician’s voice, hope flared in Song Xinya’s heart.
Her legs thrashed wildly in midair, and she kicked the door even harder.
Another loud bang rang out, reaching the beautician even more clearly.
The beautician stared intently toward the doorway. “Who is it? Say something!”
Although it was broad daylight, she suddenly felt afraid for some reason.
The two sudden bangs sent a chill down her spine, raising goose bumps all over her body.
She wanted to stand up and go to the door to see what had happened.
But she was timid and worried she might encounter a ghost.
She wanted to take a look, yet she didn’t dare. Sitting rigidly in her chair, the beautician wrestled with indecision.
Still, there was no way a ghost would appear in broad daylight.
The beautician stamped her foot, then sprang up from the chair and walked toward the door.
Just as she reached it, Song Xinya was dragged into the room next door.
The beautician turned to look over. The door to the adjoining room slammed shut, and she saw nothing.
She gritted her teeth, summoned her courage, walked over to the door, and knocked.
“Hello? Is anyone in there?”
A rough male voice came from inside. “Yes. What is it?”
The beautician asked, “I heard a loud banging noise just now. Is everything all right?”
The door creaked open, revealing a burly man standing there.
“My friend and I were fooling around. He kicked the door by accident.”
The two bangs had indeed sounded like someone kicking the door, so his explanation seemed to fit.
The beautician glanced inside but didn’t see anything unusual. She said, “Sorry to bother you.”
Then she turned and went back to her room. After tidying everything up, she left.
By then, black tape had been placed over Song Xinya’s mouth, and both her hands had been tied with coarse hemp rope. She lay on the cold floor.
The lights in the room suddenly switched on, illuminating every corner.
Song Xinya struggled to lift her head and saw the man sitting in the center of the sofa.
He looked down at her and smiled brightly.
“You’ve finally fallen into my hands.”
