Another message from Qin Chao came through.
Liu Siyue heard the old woman's voice from behind the door:
"Why isn't that bitch here yet?
"I'm still waiting to knock some sense into her.
"Since she gave her body to you, she belongs to our Qin family. She has to listen to us and be at our beck and call.

Qin Chao immediately replied:

Lin Wanyi listened to Liu Renzhi talk for a long time.
She checked the time and gently pushed Liu Renzhi away:
"It's getting too late, I should head back."

Lin Wanyi glanced at Liu Siyue's bedroom door; the light was still on.

Lin Wanyi stood in front of the door and knocked gently:
"Siyue, are you asleep?"
No one answered her.
She looked again at the light spilling from under the door:
"Yueyue..."
Still, no one spoke.
Assuming Liu Siyue had fallen asleep, she turned to leave:
"Let's go. She was a bridesmaid all day today, she must be exhausted.
"I'll come find her tomorrow when I have time."
Liu Renzhi started the car, but he felt a heavy weight in his chest, like a wad of cotton was blocking his breathing.
It felt as if something bad was about to happen.
Just as the car drove out of the residential compound, he suddenly made a U-turn and drove back.
Lin Wanyi was confused: "Did you forget something?"
"No."
Liu Renzhi's knuckles turned white as he gripped the steering wheel:
"I just feel like something isn't right. I need to go back and check on Yueyue first."
He had a premonition, a bad one.
Lin Wanyi's heart also leaped into her throat.
As soon as Liu Renzhi stopped the car, she was the first to run to Liu Siyue's room.
She knocked on the door again: "Yueyue, are you there? Yueyue?"
The room remained dead silent.
Liu Renzhi hurried over right behind her and opened the door directly.
The next second, panic set in.
The lights were on, but there was no one in the bed.
The bedding was perfectly neat, looking exactly as it had when they left that morning.
It was as if Liu Siyue had never come back at all.
He shouted:
"Yueyue, Siyue!"
Still, no one answered him.
Lin Wanyi opened the bathroom door, but there was no one there either.
On the balcony, still no one.
They searched every corner of the room, but she was nowhere to be found.
Liu Renzhi's fingers were trembling. He rushed out of the room to the living room, then the kitchen.
He even went out to the garden.
He couldn't find a trace of Liu Siyue anywhere.
He stood in the garden and yelled loudly:
"Siyue, Liu Siyue!
"Where are you, Liu Siyue!
"Where on earth are you? Come out!"
Su Jing heard Liu Renzhi's voice.
She came out with a coat draped over her shoulders:
"Renzhi, why are you calling for Siyue? Isn't she in her room?"
"She's not."
Lin Wanyi immediately said:
"Siyue isn't home. There's no one in her room, and she isn't answering her phone."
"What?"
Su Jing hurriedly went back to Liu Siyue's room. After looking around, she panicked too:
"That's impossible. She came back with me. She's been home this whole time."
Liu Renzhi went to find the security guards at the gate:
"Did you see Siyue go out?"
The security guards shook their heads one by one:
"We didn't see Miss Siyue go out."
"Then where on earth did she go?"
Su Jing paced around anxiously. Suddenly, Liu Renzhi remembered something:
"The surveillance cameras! We just need to check the security footage."
As he spoke, he quickly opened his phone and started reviewing the footage from the moment Liu Siyue returned to her room.
Fast-forwarding continuously, he finally spotted Liu Siyue leaving.
Wearing a bag, she first walked toward the front door, but a few minutes later, she appeared at the back door.
"She went out, Mom."
Liu Renzhi said urgently:
"Siyue went out. She left through the back door.
"Where would she go?"
Lin Wanyi called Liu Siyue over and over again.
But the calls never went through.
On the other end, Qin Chao was still urging Liu Siyue:
"Baby, are you here yet? I've been waiting for you for a long time."
Clutching her phone, Liu Siyue finally placed her hand on the door.
After three knocks, Qin Chao opened the door.
Seeing Liu Siyue, he was thrilled and reached out to pull her inside:
"Baby, you're finally here. I've missed you for days.
"Those security guards at your house wouldn't let me in.
"They're absolutely crazy, aren't they? You're about to be my wife, and I'll be your husband. What right do they have to keep me out?"
Liu Siyue stared at him intently:
"Qin Chao, when did I ever agree to marry you?"
Qin Chao was stunned. He hadn't expected Liu Siyue to be so cold.
Ren Anfen, however, glared at Liu Siyue and said with dissatisfaction:
"Liu Siyue, what kind of attitude is that?
"I'll make it clear to you today. Your body has already been played with by my son. If you don't marry him, who else are you going to marry?
"To put it bluntly, my son is the only person in this world who would want you and accept you now.
"We don't even need your agreement. Who told you to be so shameless and climb into my son's bed in the first place?"
Qin Chao shot Ren Anfen a look, then turned to smile at Liu Siyue:
"Baby, my mom is from the countryside, she doesn't know how to speak properly.
"But while her words might be rough, the logic isn't wrong.
"We've already consummated our relationship. You can only marry me. Marriage is just a matter of time."
Liu Siyue sat down on the sofa and looked at Qin Chao:
"But I don't remember ever consummating anything with you.
"Qin Chao, you forced me, didn't you?"
"Of course not."
Qin Chao broke out in a cold sweat and hurriedly explained:
"How could I force you into something like that? Baby, have you really forgotten?
"You were clearly the one who initiated it. And based on the timeline, you should be pregnant by now.
"How about I take you to the hospital tomorrow to get checked out?"
"Pregnant?"
Liu Siyue sat with her legs crossed, staring unblinkingly at Qin Chao:
"How can you be so sure I'm pregnant? Qin Chao, you planned all of this, didn't you."
Qin Chao panicked a little. He felt that Liu Siyue was somehow different from before.
She seemed to have become uncontrollable.
But Ren Anfen didn't think so.
She stared at Liu Siyue's stomach and called out to Qin Chao:
"No need to wait until tomorrow. Go out and buy a pregnancy test right now and we'll know.
"As long as there's nothing wrong with her, the seed has definitely sprouted."
Just as Qin Chao got up to head out, Liu Siyue pulled a medical report from her bag and slapped it right onto his face:
"There's no need to buy a pregnancy test, Qin Chao. I'm already pregnant."
