Chen Hui quietly asked Lin Wanyi,
"Sister, what's going on with Yueyue? Wasn't she bullied terribly by Qin Chao? How come now..."
Lin Wanyi didn't know either, but she said,
"Let me ask Brother Liu first. We need to keep following Siyue and absolutely cannot let them be alone together."
By the time Lin Wanyi called Liu Renzhi, his people had already sent him the news.

She and Chen Hui kept following behind Liu Siyue.
Qin Chao turned around and said to them,
"Siyue and I want to stroll around alone. Why don't you two head back first?"

"No can do. Yueyue, before we left, Aunt Su specifically told Huizi to bring you back safely.
"We have no choice but to tag along."
Liu Siyue didn't seem upset at all.
"Sure! Huizi, how about I buy you a few gold bracelets later as a wedding gift?

Before Chen Hui could decline, Qin Chao showed his displeasure.
He took Liu Siyue's hand.

Liu Siyue looked full of guilt.

Qin Chao finally smiled, but Lin Wanyi was furious.

Chen Hui wanted to curse him out, but Lin Wanyi held her back.
Liu Siyue couldn't handle being triggered right now; they couldn't act recklessly.
Qin Chao, however, continued relentlessly,
"If you, as her supposed sister, have the nerve to ask my girlfriend to buy a gold bracelet, why can't I ask her to buy one for my mom?
"Speaking of which, my mom is an old lady from the countryside who managed to raise such an outstanding son like me.
"Buying her ten gold bracelets wouldn't even be enough."
Lin Wanyi was genuinely stunned by his shamelessness.
She turned to advise Liu Siyue instead,
"Yueyue, you're a girl, and your parents haven't officially met yet.
"Logically speaking, Qin Chao's parents should be the ones bringing gifts to visit your family first.
"You can buy the gold bracelet now, but just hold onto it for the time being. It'll be the same if you give it to her after your parents meet and things are settled."
Liu Siyue thought about it for a moment.
"Yeah, you're right. My sister is right. Then I won't buy the gold bracelet for now.
"I'll wait until his mom comes to visit another day and let her pick it out herself."
Qin Chao's face turned red with anger.
Seeing the gold that was practically in his hands fly away, he wished he could kick Lin Wanyi and Chen Hui to death.
But Liu Siyue was still there, so he had to keep up appearances.
So he said,
"Then let's go buy a watch for me first, baby. I've had my eye on one that costs over a hundred thousand, but I could never bear to spend the money."
Chen Hui practically rolled her eyes. She leaned in close to Lin Wanyi's ear and whispered,
"Sister, is it that he couldn't bear to spend the money? Could he even come up with over a hundred thousand in the first place?
"What a joke."
Lin Wanyi didn't say much; she just continued to follow behind them.
Liu Renzhi would be arriving soon, and then she would find out exactly what was going on.
At the watch counter.
Sure enough, Qin Chao immediately tried on a watch worth one hundred and eighty thousand.
He waved it in front of Liu Siyue.
"How is it, baby? Does it look good?
"If I wear this on my first day of work, who would dare to look down on me?
"Who would dare to boss me around?"
Liu Siyue smiled. "Yeah, it looks good. Let's buy this one then."
Qin Chao was so thrilled he couldn't hide his grin.
He cupped Liu Siyue's face and gave her a forceful kiss, but Liu Siyue instinctively dodged.
She didn't know why herself.
She just didn't want Qin Chao to kiss her, and she didn't want him getting too close.
But they were supposedly boyfriend and girlfriend.
Seeing her zone out, Qin Chao called out to her,

Liu Siyue snapped back to reality. Just as she was about to go settle the bill, Liu Renzhi arrived.
His gaze shot toward Qin Chao's face like a cold, sharp blade.
Liu Siyue, however, happily approached him.
"Big brother, why are you at the mall? Isn't the company busy?"
"Mhm."
Liu Renzhi said casually, "Your birthday is in a few days, so your big brother came to pick out a gift for you.
"Tell me what you want."
Liu Siyue quickly pulled Qin Chao in front of him.
"Brother, this is the boyfriend I told you about, Qin Chao."
Liu Renzhi gave a faint nod, and Liu Siyue continued,
"He's about to start working soon, so I'm buying him a watch as a gift.
"Do you think this one looks good?"
Liu Renzhi glared at Qin Chao's wrist before turning to Liu Siyue.
"Yueyue, you have good intentions, but doing this will actually harm him.
"After all, he is a man. If people find out his watch was bought by his girlfriend,
"They will laugh at him. Yueyue, this watch is too expensive. It's not a good idea."
Qin Chao panicked.
"No, it's not expensive. I just won't tell anyone how much it cost.
"Yueyue, baby, I like this one. I want to buy this one."
A storm was already brewing in Liu Renzhi's eyes.
His sister absolutely could not be hurt ever again.
He turned his head and sharply questioned Qin Chao in the iciest of voices,
"Are you sure you really want this watch?"
