“Fuck… fuck… FUCK!!!”
The Baldy clutched his butt with both hands and dropped to his knees. The veins on his forehead bulged from the pain, and cold sweat poured down his face.
Cheng Gang and the employees’ families in the several buses behind him all froze at the ridiculous sight. Some of them even instinctively covered their own backsides.
You reap what you sow.
Serves him right!
The intellectually disabled young man, however, seemed completely unaware of what he had just done. He tilted his head, looked at the boss kneeling on the ground, then glanced at the steel pipe in his hand and clapped happily.
“Yay! Yay!”
“I wanna stab him again!”
“N-no… don’t…” The Baldy weakly reached out a hand, trying to stop him.
But the intellectually disabled young man only caught the final word—“don’t”—and picked up the steel pipe again.
“Okay! One more time!”
Grinning cheerfully, he raised the steel pipe even more enthusiastically than before.
“Don’t! I mean, don’t—”
Before he could finish, the intellectually disabled young man brought the pipe down hard again.
“Aaaagh~~~!!!”
The Baldy let out an even more agonized scream than before. He sprawled face-down on the concrete, his butt sticking high into the air as he clutched his rear with both hands. Tears streamed down his face. The pain was excruciating!
The other thugs, who were at least somewhat sane, finally came to their senses. They rushed forward and dragged away the intellectually disabled young man, who was still eager for more and shouting that he wanted to keep stabbing.
“Let go of me! I wanna stab him again! The boss said to do it again!”
“He didn’t! He didn’t say that!”
After finally restraining Third Fool, the Baldy lay on the ground, panting for a long while before he barely managed to recover. When he got up, both legs were still trembling, and he could hardly stand.
He turned around and glared viciously at the intellectually disabled young man being held down by his lackeys.
When Third Fool saw the boss looking at him, he just grinned foolishly.
“Boss! Did I stab him good?”
“Heh-heh…”
The Baldy said nothing. He bent down and picked up the steel pipe lying on the ground.
“Boss?” Third Fool tilted his head, staring at him in confusion.
“You bastard! How dare you stab me!”
“Go to hell!”
The Baldy suddenly raised the steel pipe and brought it crashing down on the intellectually disabled young man’s head.
The pipe struck Third Fool’s skull with a dull thud.
The mentally impaired young man’s eyes widened. His body swayed several times before he fell straight backward. Blood seeped from his hair and trickled down his forehead, dripping one drop at a time onto the gray concrete road.
The entire area fell silent.
The two thugs holding Third Fool unconsciously loosened their grip.
The Baldy clutched the bloodstained steel pipe and panted heavily as he stared at Third Fool lying on the ground. Third Fool’s eyes were still open, staring blankly at the sky. A foolish smile even lingered at the corners of his mouth.
Even as he lost consciousness, he seemed unable to understand why he had suddenly fallen over. He only wanted to take a nice, long nap.
Cheng Gang’s expression darkened at once.
The employees’ families sitting in the buses ahead were also badly frightened.
At first, they had merely been watching the gang of roadblockers make fools of themselves for entertainment.
But the moment the Baldy raised the steel pipe and dealt a lethal blow to a defenseless intellectually disabled man, the nature of the whole incident changed completely.
Using a fool to rob people was one thing.
Beating that fool half to death was another.
Cheng Gang clenched his fist, his knuckles cracking loudly. He stared coldly at the Baldy across from him.
Although the Third Fool lying on the ground had just been using the steel pipe to stab someone in the ass, anyone could see that he had no idea what he was doing.
He was merely a tool for these villains to make money—a pitiful man who lacked even the most basic ability to distinguish right from wrong.
And now, this tool had not only been exploited but beaten until his head was split open.
This gang of thugs had no humanity at all. They were worse than animals!
“What the hell are you looking at?”
The Baldy covered his butt with one hand and pointed the bloodstained steel pipe at Cheng Gang with the other, cursing viciously. “Keep staring and I’ll gouge your eyes out too! Now hurry up and hand over your money, or you’ll end up just like him!”
Cheng Gang looked at him without saying a word. He simply raised his right hand.
It was a signal.
The next instant—
Clatter!
The doors of the dozen or so buses behind him opened simultaneously.
Two young men in black suits stepped down from each bus. Each wore a dragon-shaped insignia on his chest.
One, two, three, four, five…
More and more appeared.
Before long, nearly thirty men in black were standing behind Cheng Gang. With a sharp swish, they all drew their telescopic batons.
The sneer on the Baldy’s face froze.
The thugs behind him instinctively took several steps backward.
Even the two wolfhounds that had been baring their teeth and looking ferocious tucked their tails between their legs and hid behind their owner. They whimpered softly, not daring to bark.
That was the pressure created by sheer presence.
Where the hell had all these gangster-looking men come from?
“You… what do you want?”
“You think you can bully us just because you outnumber us? You people have no honor! Let me tell you, this road belongs to Lord Tiger. Try laying a finger on me and see what happens!”
As he shouted, the Baldy pushed his lackeys in front of him for protection.
“Listen up! I’m warning you, Lord Tiger is somebody important in BS Province!”
“If you touch me, Lord Tiger won’t let you get away with it!”
Cheng Gang could not be bothered to waste any more words on him. He drew his telescopic baton and strode forward. The thirty men in black followed in unison.
Their momentum was like dark clouds pressing down on a city, or a black tide surging toward the Baldy.
The Baldy limped backward, cursing his luck inwardly.
Damn it, they had kicked an iron plate this time!
Who could have guessed that this tour bus convoy from out of town would be carrying a group of gangsters even more intimidating than they were?
“Who… who the hell are you people?”
Cheng Gang finally spoke.
“Which road we walk isn’t important. What matters is that you made three mistakes today.”
“First, you blocked our vehicles.”
“Second, you injured someone.”
“Third, you used a disabled person to commit a crime. You’re worse than animals!”
“People like you deserve to be executed on the spot!”
Although the Baldy was frightened, he still shouted with false bravado, “Stop pretending to be some kind of hero! You’re only relying on your numbers. If you’ve got the guts, fight me one-on-one!”
No one paid him any attention.
“Fine! Fine! You win! You’ve got more people! I’ll take the loss!”
He waved at the thugs shielding him. “What are you standing around for? Let’s go!”
The thugs had wanted to run for a long time. Hearing this, they immediately turned and prepared to flee.
“Stop!” Cheng Gang immediately shouted, bringing them to a halt.
“Did I say you could leave?”
The gangsters froze in fear.
Baldy turned around and glared at him darkly. “Brother, we’ve already admitted defeat. What else do you want?”
Cheng Gang couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words on him. He simply waved his hand.
“Give them a good beating!”
The next moment, all thirty men in black moved at once.
There were no shouts or curses. Aside from the whooshing sound of the batons cutting through the air and the dull thuds as they struck flesh, there was almost no unnecessary noise at all.
Their seriousness and efficiency were on full display!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Every blow was clean, precise, and vicious.
They struck the gangsters’ thighs, arms, shoulders, backs—in places that wouldn’t damage their internal organs but would still make them suffer indescribable pain.
In less than thirty seconds, all dozen or so gangsters were sprawled on the ground, groaning miserably—including Baldy.
Only the few intellectually disabled young men remained standing off to the side, drooling and clapping their hands as they laughed foolishly.
“Yay! Yay!”
“Good beating!”
“Hehehe… It’s like setting off firecrackers…”
As the gang’s leader, Baldy naturally received some “special attention.”
Cheng Gang had even specifically ordered his men to put a special padded vest on him.
Baldy struggled desperately, shouting nonstop, “They’re beating people! Outsiders are beating people! Is there no law anymore?”
Cheng Gang walked over to him and, without a word, gave him another round of wild punches.
He didn’t stop until Baldy had been beaten into complete submission and was vomiting uncontrollably.
“I’ve got to hand it to that big lawyer—the latest improved version of this vest really works. This guy looks like he’s just drunk, and even a medical examination won’t find any injuries on him.”
“Though it wouldn’t matter even if they did. We were acting in defense of others.”
Cheng Gang muttered this under his breath as he looked at his fists. Then he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
“Hello, emergency services?”
“I’d like to report a crime.”
Baldy, who was still vomiting nearby, nearly bulged his eyes out of their sockets when he heard those words.
What?
You beat us up and then called the police yourselves?
Aren’t you gangsters?
Do gangsters call the police? Don’t you people have any rules?
“This is a section of Provincial Road XX in XX Province. A group of people blocked the road, robbed passersby, and injured an intellectually disabled person. Yes! The victim is bleeding and needs an ambulance. The attackers have already been subdued. There are twenty-three of them in total—not one got away…”
After hanging up, Cheng Gang turned around and instructed the men behind him, “Clear the roadblocks. Let the bus pass first. Arrange for the families to stay at a hotel in the city. We’ll remain here and keep an eye on these people until the police arrive.”
“Yes!”
Lying on the ground, Baldy watched as the men in black busied themselves—some clearing the roadblocks, some caring for the injured, and others guarding the gangsters. Everyone had a clear assignment, and the whole operation was orderly and efficient.
He suddenly felt a little dazed.
Just what kind of people were these men?
If they were gangsters, why would they dare call the police themselves?
But if they were good people, why were they more ruthless than anyone else?
“You… just who are you people?” Baldy couldn’t help asking again.
Cheng Gang glanced at him and calmly replied with two words:
“Leifeng!”
Baldy: ???
