“Look!”
“Who is that?”
“Damn, that aura... that face... stunning!”
Gao Min heard the exclamations and couldn’t help but curl the corners of her mouth slightly.
She was here.
Her younger sister.
At the entrance, a figure in misty blue walked in gracefully.
She was a very young girl, no more than twenty years old, dressed in a misty blue long gown. Her long hair, dark as ink, cascaded over her shoulders, curling slightly at the ends. Her delicate face bore only a hint of makeup, yet it was enough to make her breathtakingly beautiful.
But what truly set her apart was her aura.
Though dressed in such simple, understated clothing, the moment she appeared, the richly adorned socialites and wealthy ladies around her instantly seemed vulgar.
Even the entire hall fell silent for a moment because of her presence.
Who was this girl?
Where did she come from?
Lin Yi’s eyes flickered.
She knew Liu Yutong was beautiful, but she hadn’t expected that, when fully dressed up, Liu Yutong could reach such ethereal heights.
That misty blue gown seemed alive on her, carrying an otherworldly, fairy-like grace.
On the right side of the hall, where the young elite men from prominent families were seated, many had their eyes wide and fixed on her.
Suddenly, family alliances through marriage didn’t seem so bad. They were no longer resisting the idea—after all, this girl was clearly no ordinary person.
“Who is she? She’s gorgeous! Like a fairy descending to earth!”
“Never seen her before. Which family is she from?”
“I haven’t heard of any family having someone like this.”
“Whoever she is, I’m definitely going to get to know her later.”
“I suddenly think my dad’s idea of marrying into a big family is a brilliant strategic move. For the sake of our family’s interests, I’m willing to sacrifice myself and just barely make do with getting to know this girl.”
“Get lost! You’re a toad dreaming of eating swan meat!”
“...”
Lin Feng, sitting in a corner, heard these idiots spouting their ridiculous fantasies and couldn’t help laughing inside.
You bunch of lowlifes think you’re worthy?
That’s the young mistress of the Wanlong Group. She commands thousands of men in black, and she once broke three of Zhou Heng’s ribs without a second thought.
If you go messing with her, you’d better hope you don’t end up like Zhou Heng.
Lin Mian, on the other hand, kept staring at the misty blue figure, his eyes shining brightly.
Big sis is so cool!
Big sis is so beautiful!
“Miss Liu, this way, please.”
Under the gaze of the crowd, Liu Yutong followed the attendant toward the VIP section in the left hall and sat down in one of the seats.
The young men on the right side erupted immediately.
“What? She went to the VIP section?”
“How is that possible? Isn’t she like us, from a prominent family?”
“The VIP seats are for real big shots!”
“This doesn’t make sense!”
“Who exactly is she?”
“...”
In the eastern main hall, there were eight tables.
Those seated here were either incredibly wealthy, held real power, or were well-known figures from various fields. Every single person here was someone ordinary people could only look up to.
Amid curious stares, Liu Yutong followed the attendant to the east side of the hall, to a table roughly in the center.
“Miss Liu, this is your seat.” The attendant gestured.
Liu Yutong nodded silently and looked at the people already seated.
There weren’t many at this table—eight in total, including her.
To her left was a man in his forties, wearing an administrative jacket, with a refined demeanor. He was likely a senior official from some department in the capital. To her right was another man in his forties, in a suit and tie, looking every bit like the head of a major state-owned enterprise.
There were also two women, both with sharp, professional auras, probably from influential circles.
Finally, sitting directly across from her was a man around sixty.
He wore a dark gray Zhongshan suit and held a string of sandalwood prayer beads, looking kind and gentle.
He was Jiang Yuan.
Liu Yutong’s gaze lingered on Jiang Yuan’s face for less than a second before she naturally looked away, as if seeing a stranger.
As she observed them, the others at the table were also sizing up this unexpected young girl.
Their first reactions were similar: Had she wandered into the wrong place? The younger generation was supposed to be in the right side hall—shouldn’t she be there?
The middle-aged official from the Investment Promotion Bureau spoke first. “Miss, you seem unfamiliar. May I ask your name?”
Liu Yutong bowed slightly and replied politely, “Hello, sir. My surname is Liu, Liu Yutong. I’m the chairman of the Wanlong Group from Pearl City.”
“The Wanlong Group?”
The people at the table were a bit surprised.
Not because of the name—but because this young girl was actually the chairman of a group.
Unexpected.
“So you’re Director Liu.”
The Investment Promotion Bureau official extended his hand, his tone much more respectful. “Director Liu, you’re so young and already leading a group. Truly impressive. I work for the Capital Investment Promotion Bureau. My surname is Fang.”
Liu Yutong shook his hand. “Hello, Director Fang.”
At that moment, the man who had been silently rubbing his prayer beads, Jiang Yuan, suddenly spoke.
“Wanlong… I think I’ve heard that name. Sounds like a very big group. For Miss Liu to build such an enterprise at such a young age is truly remarkable.”
Liu Yutong turned to him, her expression unchanged. She replied humbly, “You flatter me, sir. My little efforts are nothing worth mentioning. May I ask how I should address you?”
Jiang Yuan chuckled. “My surname is Jiang. Jiang Yuan. I’m from Harbour City, doing some small business. Nothing compared to everyone here.”
“You’re too modest, Mr. Jiang.” Liu Yutong said politely.
On the surface, she was calm.
But inside, she was sneering.
This old fox really knows how to play pretend.
That’s fine. She could play pretend too.
After the brief pleasantries, Jiang Yuan turned back to chat with the state-own enterprise executive beside him, but his peripheral vision kept subtly observing Liu Yutong.
So this girl really doesn’t recognize him.
Her eyes and reactions didn’t seem fake.
If she were really investigating that old incident, if she actually had the evidence Zhao Weixiang left behind, she wouldn’t be this calm when seeing him.
Unless her acting was so good that even he couldn’t see through it.
But was that possible?
She was still so young. Her mind couldn’t be that deep.
For now, it seemed his earlier worries were probably unnecessary.
The taut string in Jiang Yuan’s heart loosened a little.
But he was an old fox. He didn’t let his guard down entirely.
He still planned to carry out that strategy.
Better to kill a thousand by mistake than let one slip through.
Liu Yutong lifted the celadon teacup in front of her and took a gentle sip. The fragrant steam curled upward, perfectly concealing the faint, almost imperceptible sneer at the corners of her mouth.
Old fool, no matter how cautious you are, now that you’ve shown your face, there’s no way you’re slipping out of my grasp!
Just as she was mapping out her next move in her mind, a sudden commotion erupted from the right side hall.
"Lin Yi, you... you’ve gone too far!"
Hearing the noise, Liu Yutong turned her head to look.
In the side hall, a young woman in a rose-red gown stood before Lin Yi, her face ashen as she pointed at her and hurled accusations. Behind her stood several other young men and women, all wearing hostile expressions—clearly, they had come looking for trouble.
They were from the Zhou family.
