"Trying to run? You won’t get the chance today!"
Crazy Dog Brother, like an unkillable cockroach, staggered forward with a hand clutching his head, blocking Liu Yutong and the others, his face twisted with malice.
"Yun Cheng, has Ma Da and the others arrived yet?" Liu Yutong pulled Yu Xin half a step behind her, her voice calm.
"I’ve already notified them. They should be here soon," Yun Cheng replied confidently. "Young Miss, these people won’t be able to lay a finger on you."
"I trust you," Liu Yutong nodded.
Chu Yang had no idea where their confidence came from—how they could summon reinforcements in Wushui County—but he didn’t have time to dwell on Liu Yutong’s identity or why that cold-faced young man called her "Young Miss."
All he knew was that if they wanted to leave this place, they’d have to fight their way out.
After two consecutive fights, his stamina had taken a hit, but his expression remained unshaken.
Chu Yang stripped off his jacket, then even his shirt, tossing them carelessly to the ground, revealing his sun-kissed, well-defined muscles. A gruesome scar stretched across his right ribs.
Yun Cheng glanced at Chu Yang before silently removing his own shirt. His skin was fairer, but his muscles were just as taut and powerful.
Both men’s physiques shared a common trait—they weren’t the bulky, gym-built kind, but rather the type honed through real combat, every muscle brimming with explosive strength.
"I’ll take the left. You handle the right. Sound good?" Yun Cheng clenched his fists, knuckles cracking softly.
"Got it," Chu Yang nodded.
"After this, I’ll treat you to a meal," Yun Cheng suddenly added.
"Deal," Chu Yang agreed.
Their exchange was brief, yet it carried the familiarity of comrades who had fought side by side for years.
Chu Yang and Yun Cheng stood firm, one on each side, shielding Liu Yutong and Yu Xin between them. Their silhouettes loomed like unyielding mountains, radiating an unspoken sense of security.
Of course, it also helped that they knew Ma Da was on his way with backup. As long as they held out, everything would be fine.
Crazy Dog Brother sneered as he watched them brace for battle.
"I’ll admit, you two can fight. But no matter how tough you are, you’re not leaving this place! This is Wushui County! Dragons bow here, and tigers crawl!"
Having ruled the streets of Wushui County for years, he had never suffered such humiliation.
Back in the KTV, his men hadn’t been able to fight properly, but now, out in the open, he refused to believe these two men and two women could stand against his numbers.
Today, he’d make sure they learned the price of crossing him.
"So, you’re saying you’ve got the numbers here?" Liu Yutong’s voice was icy as she stared him down, unflinching.
Her slender fingers tapped rhythmically on the phone Yun Cheng had handed her, as if waiting for something.
"That’s right. Let me make this clear—even if someone from Bright Pearl City showed up here, they’d be crawling by the time I’m done!"
Crazy Dog Brother’s lecherous gaze swept over Liu Yutong and Yu Xin, a greedy glint in his eyes. "If those two willingly break one of their arms, and you and your little friend here spend the night with me, I might consider letting you live."
Even now, he still thought he could force them into submission.
"Are you even a man? All you know is ganging up on the outnumbered," Yu Xin snapped, her voice trembling with anger.
"Hahaha! That’s right—numbers win. What about it?" Crazy Dog Brother laughed even louder. "As long as I can cripple you all, I don’t care how many—"
Liu Yutong cut him off coldly. "Then let’s see whose numbers are greater!"
No sooner had she spoken than the sound of rapid footsteps echoed from the eastern intersection.
A dark mass of figures surged from the shadows—at least forty or fifty—charging toward them with menacing intent.
"Who dares lay a hand on them?"
Before Crazy Dog Brother could react, another wave of footsteps came from the right as fifty or sixty more men jogged into view.
Leading them was a heavyset man whose voice boomed ahead of him: "I’d like to see who the hell dares touch the Young Miss!"
With over a hundred men suddenly appearing, even Crazy Dog Brother’s face paled.
His gang of thugs exchanged panicked glances, their bravado instantly deflating.
"This… this can’t be real!"
"Since when does Wushui County have someone who can summon this many people? This doesn’t make sense!"
In Wushui County, small-time hoodlums knew their place—no one dared challenge Crazy Dog Brother’s crew. The only person who could rally this kind of force was his boss, Niu Ben.
So where the hell had these people come from?
He had never even heard of such a faction existing.
As Ma Da and his men arrived, they fanned out behind and beside Liu Yutong, forming an intimidating sea of bodies.
Ma Da hurried to Liu Yutong’s side, lowering his voice. "Young Miss, are you unharmed?"
Liu Yutong gave a slight shake of her head before turning her gaze back to Crazy Dog Brother. "Well? What do you have to say now?"
Crazy Dog Brother hesitated, his men shifting uneasily.
Those two fighters alone had been a nightmare to deal with. Now, with their opponents outnumbering them more than two to one, any fight would end badly for them.
Swallowing hard, Crazy Dog Brother shot a discreet glance at one of his lackeys, signaling him to call Niu Ben for backup.
The underling nodded subtly, slipping to the back of the crowd to dial the number.
"Boss, we’ve got a problem…"
Crazy Dog Brother calculated silently. If Niu Ben arrived with his own men and leveraged his connections, they could easily summon another two hundred fighters.
Then, the tables would turn completely.
Ma Da, standing beside Yun Cheng, listened to the full story before his expression darkened with fury. He itched to give the order and let his men tear into Crazy Dog Brother’s gang.
But he remembered the Young Miss’s instructions—and the legal lessons he’d picked up from Zhao Tianyi. Whoever struck first would face harsher consequences.
So he held back.
The best scenario was letting the other side attack first, then countering under the banner of self-defense. That way, they could bury them legally.
"Fight or not!" Ma Da suddenly roared, yanking a collapsible baton from his waist.
At his shout, the hundred-strong crowd behind him pulled out an arsenal of weapons—steel pipes, chains, baseball bats—chanting in unison:
"Fight or not!"
"Fight or not!"
"Fight or not!"
"...."
At the same time, they continuously struck the ground with their weapons, creating loud, thunderous booms that made the earth seem to tremble.
The scene resembled the war cries of ancient armies clashing, the sheer scale of it overwhelming.
Crazy Dog Brother’s expression darkened further. He wanted nothing more than to give the order to attack, but without word from Niu Ben, he didn’t dare act recklessly.
Just as their morale was on the verge of collapsing under the enemy’s pressure, the underling who had gone to contact Niu Ben came running back and handed the phone to Crazy Dog Brother.
Crazy Dog Brother had expected the boss to send reinforcements, but reality was the exact opposite. Instead, the call brought a furious, ear-splitting tirade that left his eardrums ringing.
After hanging up, Crazy Dog Brother’s face was terrifyingly grim. He glared at Liu Yutong and the others before growling, “Let’s go!”
Seeing them try to leave just like that, Ma Da immediately waved his hand and shouted, “Who said you could leave?!”
The hundred or so yellow-haired men quickly moved forward, surrounding Crazy Dog Brother and his group, blocking their escape.
Clenching his teeth, Crazy Dog Brother spat, “You want this to end only in death?!”
“End in death? You think you’re worthy?”
“You dare bully our young lady and think you can just walk away? It’s not that easy!”
Ma Da turned to the brothers behind him and roared, “Brothers, should we let them go?!”
“No!”
“No!”
The hundred-strong crowd responded in unison, their voices deafening.
Crazy Dog Brother’s face turned ashen. Gritting his teeth, he demanded, “What the hell do you want?!”
If not for Niu Ben’s absolute order, he would never have backed down like this.
Ma Da sneered, “Simple. Kneel down, kowtow a hundred times, and apologize. Only if the young lady forgives you can you leave!”
“You—!” Crazy Dog Brother’s fists clenched so tightly they creaked, his eyes practically spitting fire.
In all his years in Wushui County, he had never been humiliated like this.
As the standoff continued, no one except Liu Yutong noticed the black sedan with out-of-town plates parked not far away.
