After Rebirth, I Was Forced to Become the Mafia Princess!

Chapter 123

The National Day holiday came to an end.

Dragging their suitcases back to campus, students couldn’t help but feel something was off about the school gate, though they couldn’t quite put their finger on it—until someone suddenly gasped in realization.

"Holy crap! Where did all those yellow-haired punks at our school gate go?"

"They’re all gone?"

"Isn’t that a good thing? Or did you actually miss them?"

"Not really, it’s just… a little weird not seeing them around."

"Maybe there was a crackdown on gangs during the holiday, and they got rounded up?"

"If that’s true, then good riddance! I’ve had enough of those punks loitering around, eyeing the girls from our school. Don’t they have girls at their own schools?"

"Exactly! Even if our school has more girls than guys, it’s still annoying having outsiders poach them."

"……"

Most of these complaints came from the male students.

Even though they were all adults who supposedly believed in "dating freedom," the sight of those delinquents walking around with girls from their school always left a bitter taste in their mouths.

Especially for the single guys at a finance-focused university where women already outnumbered men—their resentment ran even deeper.

Who would’ve thought that just one holiday later, all those troublemakers would vanish without a trace?

The female students’ reactions weren’t much different, though less intense—mostly just surprise.

"Hey, where did all those creeps go?"

"Yeah, it’s so weird. Did they suddenly turn over a new leaf?"

"Honestly, it’s a relief. Every time I left campus before, those guys would stare, and it made my skin crawl."

"……"

With the school gate suddenly "cleaned up," most students had no idea what had really happened.

Only the freshmen from Business Management Class 2 seemed to have an inkling.

On the first day back, before classes even started, whispers about the topic had already spread through the classroom.

"Those delinquents disappearing… do you think Class President Liu Yutong had something to do with it?"

"I heard she didn’t even go home for the holiday. Maybe she was busy dealing with this."

"Wow, our class president really keeps her word. She actually did it."

"Liu Yutong’s family is loaded, right? She even rides in a Mercedes. Maybe she just threw money at the problem?"

"Could be!"

"Must be nice to be rich," someone muttered enviously. "If I had money, I could’ve handled those punks too."

"Stop being sour. So what if she’s rich? It’s her money to spend."

"Exactly. Regardless, she delivered on her promise."

"……"

Of course, not everyone agreed. Some brought up a major rumor circulating around the university district during the break.

"I heard it was actually an outside group that did it. A buddy from another school told me some gang took down every troublemaker in the entire university district."

"No way. Even excluding the medical and finance universities, the other three schools had hundreds of those guys combined. Who could possibly wipe them all out?"

"Just repeating what I heard, but my friend swore it was true. Said the group was dressed in all-black suits, looked terrifying, and beat the delinquents into submission. Oh, and the craziest part? Their leader was supposedly a woman."

"A woman? Seriously? You’re joking, right?"

"My friend said he saw it with his own eyes."

"Damn… a woman that hardcore in this day and age?"

"Kinda makes me wonder what she looks like."

"Same!"

"+1!"

"……"

"Hey, what if that gang leader is connected to our class president?" someone suddenly proposed, sparking wild speculation.

After all, Liu Yutong had promised to deal with the delinquents—and now they were gone. The dots weren’t hard to connect.

"No shot! Our class president is top of her class and super gentle. No way she’s involved with gangs. Don’t even joke about it."

"Right? Liu Yutong’s my goddess. A goddess wouldn’t be mixed up in that world. If she really is the boss, I’ll eat three pounds of dirt!"

"I’m not saying she’s the leader. Maybe she just hired them?"

"Even if that logic makes sense, I still don’t buy it."

"+1!"

"……"

As the class discussion spiraled into absurdity, Liu Yutong overheard bits of it but chose not to intervene. Let them talk.

She stood up and walked over to Ling Yan’s desk. "About what you said in class earlier—does your promise still stand?"

Ling Yan had noticed the change at the school gate the day she returned and suspected Liu Yutong was behind it.

Though she still felt a twinge of reluctance, she had made a public vow to the whole class. Backing out now would ruin her reputation.

"Class President, I keep my word. You delivered, so from now on, I’ll do whatever you ask—as long as it’s for class business, not personal."

"One condition, though. You have to guarantee those delinquents won’t come back. If this is just temporary, then our deal’s off."

She had also heard the rumors about the gang sweeping through the university district and wondered if Liu Yutong had just gotten lucky, benefiting from someone else’s cleanup.

If the troublemakers returned later, she’d see how Liu Yutong handled it then.

But without proof, she had no choice but to agree for now.

Liu Yutong replied calmly, "If you ever see them at the gate again, come straight to me."

Ling Yan nodded. "Fine. So, Class President, what do you need me to do?"

"There is something. Next month’s school festival—I need you to fully support the class committee’s work and help secure sponsors. Can you handle that?"

Sponsorships were something Liu Yutong could easily arrange herself, but she refused to.

If she solved every problem with money, soon the class would expect her to fund everything. Where would that end?

Securing sponsors was meant to be a learning experience. If she did it all herself, what was the point of having a class committee?

Ling Yan’s heart sank at the task.

Helping the committee was one thing, but chasing sponsors was grueling—running around under the sun, dealing with dismissive business owners, only to walk away with a few crates of bottled water as "sponsorship."

Clearly, Liu Yutong was making this difficult for her. But refusing wasn’t an option.

"Alright. I’ll do my best."

Liu Yutong shook her head. "Not ‘your best.’ You will do it. No matter how much you secure, I’ll consider it mission accomplished."

Ling Yan looked up into Liu Yutong’s bright eyes, then finally gritted her teeth and said, "I’ll definitely secure the sponsorship."

"Good, it’s settled then."

Liu Yutong nodded, then turned to address the rest of the class, seizing the opportunity to promote the class committee’s efforts.

"Next month’s gala will be our first as freshmen. Usually, freshmen rarely get stage time, but from what I’ve heard, other classes have already signed up for performances. I don’t think Class 2 should fall behind. I hope everyone will step up—those with talents especially—and showcase the spirit of Industrial Management Class 2 in front of the whole school."

Perhaps because Liu Yutong had previously resolved the incident with the troublemakers at the school gate, the class atmosphere had noticeably become more enthusiastic. Some students even said they’d sign up with the class committee after the lesson.

Of course, a few boys couldn’t resist teasing her.

"Class President, why don’t you take the stage yourself? If you show your face, our class is bound to make a name for itself in the school."

"Yeah, Class President, you should sign up too!"

"..........."

"I’ve got too much on my plate, and I don’t have any talents to speak of. I’d rather not embarrass myself up there," Liu Yutong declined.

Hearing this, the others couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed.

Truth be told, though the boys had said it as a joke, the idea actually struck a chord with everyone.

With Liu Yutong’s looks and charisma, even a simple song would be enough to put their class on the map.

After the brief class meeting, regular lessons resumed.

There were two classes in the morning and only one in the afternoon, so school would end early—around three o’clock.

The rest of the day was free for everyone to do as they pleased.

Liu Yutong planned to leave campus to deal with the matter of Hua Muying.

That guy was way too slippery. The team from Yun Cheng had tailed him for ages before discovering he had three different residences—like some real-life version of a crafty rabbit with multiple burrows.

But just as she stepped out of the school gate, she found a crowd gathered outside.

Before she could figure out what was happening, someone suddenly shouted—

"There she is! Liu Yutong’s here!"
