Before Yunyang could give the order, the peregrine falcon began its dive.
A peregrine falcon’s diving speed was even faster than its speed in level flight. Several of the beastmen immediately spread out their ability barriers to keep Yunyang from falling.
In less than two minutes, the peregrine falcon landed steadily.
After everyone had dismounted, Feir returned to human form and joined the other members of the guard team in surrounding Yunyang protectively.
Qin Mo was the first to react this time. He transformed into a white tiger half a person’s height and looked toward Yunyang.
The meaning couldn’t have been more obvious.
The environment on Desolate Star was harsh, and the roads were nearly impossible to navigate.
Since someone was willing to do the work for her, Yunyang immediately climbed onto the white tiger’s back.
The white tiger carried Yunyang while Fu Shiyi led the way at the front. The other three beastmen stayed close beside the tiger.
From the air, the destination had not seemed far away, but after landing and traveling on foot, they still had not reached it after half an hour.
Yunyang was beginning to wonder whether Yun Shaoqi had started some kind of pursuit game again when two members of the guard team cleared away a cluster of dead branches ahead. Behind them appeared a filthy, bloodstained ball of white fluff.
Fu Shiyi narrowed his eyes.
With his eyesight, it was not difficult for him to tell what the ball of fluff was.
Fu Shiyi stopped and turned to Yunyang. “Female Lord, it isn’t your older brother. It’s a lifeless wild beast.”
The guards on either side fell silent for a moment.
Although the movement was extremely faint, they could clearly see that the ball of fluff’s chest was still rising and falling.
Designer Fu’s ability to lie through his teeth was truly unmatched.
The two guards kept their eyes lowered and their mouths shut, making no attempt to expose Fu Shiyi.
Yunyang glanced at the ball of fluff on the ground. “Then let’s continue looking for my brother.”
A beastman stranded on Desolate Star could easily lose his life if he did not possess some means of protecting himself.
Although she liked fluffy creatures, she only liked them alive and kicking.
Besides, finding Yun Shaoqi was the most important thing to her at the moment.
Since this ball of fluff was not Yun Shaoqi, there was no need to waste time on it.
Yunyang turned to Feir.
Feir immediately nodded and transformed back into a gigantic peregrine falcon.
As though sensing something, the ball of fluff on the ground slowly revealed a pair of snow-white ears.
They were snow-white at first glance, but upon closer inspection, the fur on the tips was a pale green.
Fu Shiyi discreetly positioned himself in front of the ball of fluff, blocking it from view.
According to federal law, only beastmen who had committed serious crimes would be exiled to Desolate Star.
A beastman like that did not deserve the female lord’s compassion.
Yunyang did not notice Fu Shiyi’s movement, but Pei Wenye looked at him thoughtfully.
Fu Shiyi adjusted his glasses, a faint curve at the corners of his lips.
Pei Wenye said nothing. He turned around, helped Yunyang down from the white tiger’s back, and moved her onto the peregrine falcon.
The group soon settled into place.
The peregrine falcon spread its wings and prepared to take off, but at that moment, a faint cry came from behind them.
Liang Yixiao’s entire body trembled when he heard it. He hurriedly called out, “Captain Feir, that’s a beastman from our fox clan. He’s still alive!”
Liang Yixiao had been standing at the very back just now and had not been able to examine the ball of fluff up close.
Feir paused in the middle of taking off.
The peregrine falcon turned its head and looked at Yunyang questioningly.
Another faint cry sounded, only this time it lasted longer.
Liang Yixiao was overjoyed and quickly translated, “Miss Yunyang, he says that if we’re looking for a cheetah, he can lead us to it!”
Fu Shiyi pressed his lips together slightly.
Yunyang immediately said, “Bring him over.”
Having someone to guide them was far more efficient than searching aimlessly.
Liang Yixiao nodded. He swiftly jumped to the ground, pulled two syringes from his spatial storage unit as he ran back, and injected them into the white fox.
Although it was a member of his own clan, Liang Yixiao did not dare take any chances.
He first administered a healing agent, then immediately injected a suppressant.
Only after both medicines had taken effect did he pick up the white fox and return. He sat near the peregrine falcon’s tail, keeping a considerable distance from Yunyang.
The healing agent worked very well. The white fox now had enough strength to stretch out all four limbs.
A pair of green eyes swept over the gathered beastmen before lowering again.
His ears twitched, and he let out a string of faint cries.
Liang Yixiao translated, “Captain Feir, five o’clock from your current forward direction!”
The peregrine falcon let out a long cry and swiftly took flight, heading in the direction he had indicated.
After activating the detection function on his optical computer, Liang Yixiao patted the white fox and asked softly, “How did you end up on Desolate Star?”
The white fox curled into a ball and did not answer.
Only then did Liang Yixiao realize that the clan member in his arms had no tail. Judging by his appearance, he had been born tailless.
Liang Yixiao’s expression suddenly turned furious.
Among the fox clan, being born without a tail meant that one would never awaken an ability. In other words, such a person would not even have the power to commit any earth-shattering crime—
Under federal law, as long as a male did not harm a female physically or psychologically, it was not considered a serious crime.
Therefore, this poor little fellow clearly had not been exiled here for committing an offense.
As for the real reason, it could only be one of those possibilities.
Liang Yixiao vigorously rubbed the white fox’s head. “Fine. If you don’t want to talk about it, then don’t. From now on, you can stick with me. I can’t promise much, but you’ll have more than enough nutritional supplements.”
The white fox’s ears twitched, but he still said nothing.
Only when Liang Yixiao was not looking did he sneak a glance at Yunyang, then another.
What a beautiful female…
His movements were so furtive, and each glance was so brief, as though looking at Yunyang for too long would be an act of disrespect.
Yunyang remained completely unaware, but it did not take long for her five beastmen husbands to notice what he was doing.
The white fox’s gaze contained no lust, so they did not stop him. They merely positioned themselves between him and Yunyang.
The peregrine falcon flew for another twenty minutes in the direction indicated by the white fox. At last, they caught sight of the cheetah.
He immediately lowered his altitude so that the people on his back could clearly see the cheetah’s condition.
Yunyang let out a breath of relief.
From the looks of it, Yun Shaoqi had only suffered some superficial injuries when his aircraft crashed. One healing agent should be enough to cure him.
The real difficulty would be his excessively high contamination level.
Yunyang immediately looked at two of her beastmen. “Qin Mo, Xuan Yu, catch him.”
The two beastmen nodded at once. When the peregrine falcon was only a short distance above the ground, they jumped down, transformed into their beast forms, and chased after the cheetah.
Fu Shiyi handed Yunyang over to Rong Jin and Pei Wenye, then spread his wings and flew over. He used his ability to increase Qin Mo and Xuan Yu’s speed.
When they were close enough to attack the cheetah, the white wolf stamped his forepaw. An ice wall rose abruptly from the ground in front of the cheetah.
The cheetah skidded to a stop and turned, trying to continue its escape, only to discover that ice walls blocked it on every side.
Qin Mo moved as well. He used his ability to turn all four ice walls into metal. Even a cheetah with an S-rank ability would not be able to break through them easily.
Once the cheetah’s movements were restricted, several federal soldiers who had caught up with them immediately jumped down and covered it with the strongest restraint net available.
This was the very same restraint net that even Leo had been unable to break free from.
Only then did the peregrine falcon land.
With Rong Jin and Pei Wenye guarding Yunyang on either side, she approached the cheetah surrounded by the members of the guard team.
