Three men stood at the door.
Arden frowned, his gaze sweeping over her face before looking past her into the room. Rex was expressionless, but his eyes were also quickly scanning the room. Only Kieran stood a little further away, his eyes calm behind his glasses, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking.
"There was a fluctuation in mental energy just now," Kieran spoke first, his tone as businesslike as ever. "The source was in your room."
Jiang Lijin raised an eyebrow. "And so?"
"And so we came to take a look," Arden chimed in, his nose twitching as if confirming some scent. "That fluctuation didn't feel like a C-grade. It was at least an A-grade or higher."
Seeing them like this, Jiang Lijin relaxed. No one was actually sensing her current mental energy; they merely thought she was hiding someone in her room.
She almost laughed out loud.
Leaning against the doorframe, she crossed her arms and tilted her head to look at them. "You three lords aren't sleeping in the middle of the night, and just because there was a suspected A-grade fluctuation in my room, you came running up to knock on my door?"
She paused, the corners of her lips curling into a mocking smirk. "What? Afraid I'm hiding a man? Or afraid I've kidnapped your Goddess Felwin?"
Arden's face darkened. "You—"
"Me what?" Jiang Lijin interrupted him. "I'm just a C-grade piece of trash. Your Goddess Felwin could pin me to the ground with a single finger, right? Me, kidnap her? With what? Am I going to scare her into fainting with my shockingly beautiful face?"
Arden choked, unable to speak.
Rex couldn't be bothered with her sarcastic remarks and simply stepped right into the room.
He glanced at the window; it was closed.
He looked at the wardrobe; it was open and empty.
"What were you doing?" he asked in an unfriendly tone.
Jiang Lijin tugged at her sweat-soaked clothes. "Can't you tell, Lord Rex? Exercising, working out. I'm just worried that after divorcing you three lords, I might inexplicably die in some remote corner of some random planet one day."
Rex immediately knew she was being sarcastic. His temper flared, and his fists clenched. Just as he was about to speak, Kieran interrupted him.
"Did you feel anything from the fluctuation just now?" Kieran's tone was as peaceful as if they were just chatting.
Jiang Lijin turned to look at him. Her attitude toward Kieran was relatively peaceful; after all, he was the only one among them who acted like a decent human being.
"Feel what?"
"Any abnormalities, like dizziness, ringing in your ears, or a momentary mental lapse."
Jiang Lijin's heart stirred. A strange thought crossed her mind: was this man giving her an out? But her face remained impassive. She frowned and pretended to think. "Now that you mention it... my optical computer beeped just now, and then my head buzzed. I felt a little dizzy. Why?"
Kieran didn't answer, merely looking at Rex.
Rex was silent for a few seconds before turning and walking out without saying a word.
Arden, on the other hand, was stunned. "We're... we're just leaving?"
"The source of the fluctuation has been confirmed," Rex said without looking back. "The capital planet is recently upgrading its mental energy base stations, so there will be overflow fluctuations. She has a sensitive C-grade constitution, so she was affected!"
Arden opened his mouth, looked at Rex's back, then looked at Jiang Lijin. Finally, he choked out a curse word, turned, and followed.
Kieran walked at the very back. As he left, he glanced back at Jiang Lijin. His gaze was very calm, but Jiang Lijin couldn't shake the feeling that he was assessing something.
"Do you need anything else, Lord Kieran?" Even though this man seemed to have just given her a way out, she really couldn't bring herself to like the original owner's beast husbands.
Kieran paused and suddenly said, "You haven't signed the agreement yet."
Jiang Lijin was taken aback. "What agreement?"
"The divorce agreement. You haven't signed their divorce agreements yet," Kieran said flatly.
Jiang Lijin blinked, then suddenly grabbed the optical computer by her bed and turned it on.
Sure enough! There were two little red notification dots in her inbox, which were exactly their revised agreements.
At the time, she was so focused on listening to Xiao Yi, and later busy with the box and activating her genes, that she had completely forgotten about it. She felt a rare moment of embarrassment.
"I'll sign them right now."
She opened the agreements and quickly scanned them. Just like Kieran's copy, there were no issues. She scrolled straight to the bottom and signed her name in the signature area.
She turned the optical computer screen toward Kieran. "Signed. See?"
Kieran took a look and nodded.
"Alright." Jiang Lijin tossed the optical computer back onto the bed. "They're signed. Once the money arrives, I'll move out. Anything else? If not, I'm going to sleep."
Kieran looked at her and suddenly asked, "You seem quite eager to move out?"
Jiang Lijin smiled, looking completely sincere. "Lord Kieran, if it were you, having given three years of true feelings and getting absolutely nothing in return, how long would you stay?"
Kieran didn't speak.
Arden's impatient voice came from down the hallway. "Kieran, let's go!"
Kieran gave her one last look before turning and leaving.
Jiang Lijin slammed the door shut with a bang and locked it. Leaning against the door, she listened to the sounds outside for a moment: footsteps going downstairs, then faint conversation in the living room, and finally, complete silence.
[Host,] Xiao Yi's voice rang out in her mind, [You acted really well just now.]
"Act my ass!" Jiang Lijin sneered. "I was just being myself. I'd consider it bad luck to stay in this wretched place even one more day."
Xiao Yi suddenly spoke again: [Host, aren't you going to ask why the fluctuation they sensed was above A-grade, rather than directly recognizing it as S-grade?]
Jiang Lijin paused. "Yeah, why?"
[Because you just activated your mental energy and it's still unstable. The fluctuation characteristics are between A-grade and S-grade. It will only show true S-grade characteristics once it completely stabilizes.]
"I see." Jiang Lijin nodded. "That's good, it saves them from finding out too early."
Xiao Yi was puzzled: [Are you very afraid of them finding out, Host?]
Jiang Lijin shook her head. "No, I want them to know, but it has to be after we are divorced and completely cut ties. By the way, Xiao Yi, can everyone sense my mental energy grade?"

Jiang Lijin nodded. "Then after I fully awaken, will I be above them?"

"Alright." Jiang Lijin didn't dwell on it. She simply rolled over and buried her face in her pillow. "Once the money arrives in three days, we're leaving. Then, the sky's the limit!"

"I don't know," she said with a muffled voice. "Anyway, we'll leave the capital planet first. Didn't you say the main quest is an exploration mission that gives extra points? Then we'll just go wherever the wind takes us. I've lived two lifetimes and still haven't traveled around."
[Understood, Host! No matter where you go, Xiao Yi will stay by your side!]
When Xiao Yi said these words, Jiang Lijin thought of Xiao Er again, and a sudden smile graced her face.
She lay in bed and closed her eyes, a faint smile still lingering on her lips.
